Fort Jennings & Delphos Ry.
This was an effort to make a tourist line which wanted to operate on the Akron Canton & Youngstown. That did not work so they tried to operate on Western Ohio Rail Authority. That did not work either. It disappeared after a while.
Delphos was served by Conrail (PRR-PC), AC&Y, and NKP. The AC&Y was the first to go when it was abandoned between Delphos and Carey---I forget the date. The ex-NKP line at some point became under Indiana HiRail and was used for storage. South of Delphos it had a few grain elevators that were active. The line was in horrible shape (former narrow gauge). I hi-railed it under Conrail to take over the switching of those few grain elevators and we did that for a short period of time and then bailed out. A shortline proposed to take it over but I don't know the outcome of that. The Davenport was to be used on some of that trackage. Conrail pulled the crossing frog out at Delphos and that ended the plan for that portion of the shortline. The Davenport was purchased by Kyle Flannigan and sent to Pleasant Lake, IN, which has been under restoration.
