Peabody Coal Company

23, LS750, was built by Lima-Hamilton in April 1950, #9399, as Cincinnati Union Terminal Co 23. It was sold to George R Silcott Co and then to Peabody in 1969 as 23.

24, LS750, was built by Lima-Hamilton in June 1951, #9540, as CIUT 24. It was sold to George Silcott and then to Peabody in 1965 as 24.

50, DT6-6-2000, was built by Baldwin in April 1949, #74123, as Trona RR 50.  It was sold as Peabody 50 in August 1973.

51, DT6-6-2000, was built by Baldwin in April 1949, #74124, as Trona 51.  It was sold as Peabody 51 in August 1973.

101, RS2u, was built by Alco in March 1948 #75695, as Union RR 602. It was rebuilt in October 1958 and sold to Peabody Short Line RR as 703. On August 1, 1961, it became Illinois Central 703 with the merger of the PSLRR. It was retired in February 1967 and traded in to Electro-Motive in June 1967. It was then sold to Peabody as 101.

274, H10-44, was built by Fairbanks Morse in March 1948, #10L51, as St Louis-San Francisco 274.  It was sold as Peabody 274 in April 1973.

470, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1940, #1057, FN E304-7, as Delaware Lackawanna & Western 436.  It became Erie Lackawanna 358, Class SE-6, in 1960 and sold to Matt Whisler in 1967.  It was sold to Birmingham Rail & Loco in 1969 and sold to Peabody as 407 "Tinker Bell".  It is preserved as a static display at the Museum of the Coal Industry in Lynnville, Indiana.

600, GP7, was built in July 1953, #18594, FN 5296-4, as New York Chicago & St Louis 426, Class ERS-15C.  It became Norfolk & Western 2426 in March 1967 and sold as Peabody 600.  It was sold to Indiana Transportation Museum and restored as NKP 426.

601, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #12067, FN 5049-10, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 1519.  It was renumbered 109 in 1958 and retired on June 9, 1989.  It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp on July 19, 1989, and sold as Peabody 601.  It was sold as Kaskaskia Regional Port District 601.

603, GP7,  was built by Electro-Motive in July 1951, #14417, FN 6279-1, as Wabash RR 463, Class D-15.  It became N&W 3463 in 1965 and was sold to Peabody as 603.

805, 44DE22, was built by Whitcomb in October 1941, #60080, as Missouri Pacific 805. It was sold to Pan American Engineering Co on April 21, 1956, and then to Peabody as 805.

900, RS27, was built in March 1962, #83601, as Chicago & North Western 900.  It was traded back to Alco on February 10, 1966, and became Alco Products 900, a lease unit.  It was sold to Precision National Corp as 900 in May 1969 and then to Peabody 900 in November 1974.

1025, DRS6-6-1500, was built by Baldwin in June 1949, #73749, as Kaiser Steel Co 1010A. It was renumbered 1025 and later sold to Railway Supply Co. They sold it to Peabody as 1025. It was scrapped in September 1977.

1503, RS2u, was built by Alco in April 1949, #76804, as Lake Superior & Ishpeming 1503. It was sold to Peabody in 1969 as 1503 and later rebuilt.

1616, AS416, was built by Baldwin in December 1955, #76112, as Norfolk Southern Ry 1616.  It was sold to Precision National Corp as PNCX in March 1974 and sold as Peabody Coal Co 1616

2238, AS15, was built by Baldwin in June 1952, #75502, as Baltimore & Ohio 904, Class RSB-1c.  It was renumbered 6202, Class FSB-1, in 1957 and renumbered 2238, Class AS-16, in 1966.  It was sold to George R Silcott Ry Equipment in November 1969.  It was sold as Peabody 2238 and assigned to River Queen Mine.  It was reassigned to Eagle Mine 2 in June 1970 and reassigned to River King 6 Mine in March 1973.  It was sold for scrap to Precision National Corp in 1975.

9842, RSD15, was built by Alco in June 1960, #83578 as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 842 Class 800. It was renumbered 9842 Class 9800, in 1970, and sold to Precision National Corp in 1975. They sold it to Squaw Creek Coal Co as 9842 in 1975. It later became Peabody 9842 and then was sold to Indiana Hi-Rail as 9842 in 1988. It was soon renumbered 442. It was sold to Austin & Texas Central RR as 442 in 2000.

9843, RDS15, was built by Alco in June 1960, #83579, as AT&SF 843, Class 800. It was renumbered 9843, Class 9800, in 1970, and sold to Precision National in 1975. They sold it to SCCo as 9843 in 1975. It later became Peabody 9843 and then was sold to IHR as 9843 in 1988. It was soon renumbered 443. It became A&TC 443 in 2000, but is leased from a private owner.  It was leased to Arkansas Railroad Museum and restored as ATSF 843.

This company became part of Peabody in the late 1960s.

80 was built by Alco-Pittsburgh in September 1918, #58416, as Minneapolis & St Louis 80, Class B-3. It was later classified Class B3-35 and retired in December 1950 and sold to MEC as 80.

81 was built by Alco-Pittsburgh in September 1918, #58417, as M&StL 81, Class B-3. It was later classified Class B3-35 and retired in December 1950 and sold to MEC as 81.

82 was built by Alco-Pittsburgh in September 1918, #58418, as M&StL 82, Class B-3. It was later classified Class B3-35 and retired in December 1950 and sold to MEC as 82.

84 was built by Alco-Pittsburgh in September 1918, #58420, as M&StL 84, Class B-3. It was later classified Class B3-35 and retired in December 1949 and sold to MEC as 84.

85 was built by Alco-Pittsburgh in September 1918, #58421, as M&StL 85, Class B-3. It was later classified Class B3-35 and retired in April 1950 and sold to MEC as 85.

87 was built by Alco-Pittsburgh in September 1918, #58423, as M&StL 87, Class B-3. It was later classified Class B3-35 and retired in December 1949 and sold to MEC as 87.

209, RS1, was built by Alco in December 1945, #74821, as Minneapolis & St Louis 146. It was renumbered 209 in March 1956 and sold to Midland Electric Coal Co. as 209 in August 1959. It later became Peabody Coal Co. 209. They sold it to Precision National Corp. in January, 1971.

1201, SW1200, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1957, #23578, FN 4400-1, and became Peabody 1201 in August 1963.

1542 was built by Baldwin in November 1912, #38817, as Chicago Burlington & Quncy 1542, Class G-3.  It was sold as MECCo 1542 in October 1933.

1547 was built by Baldwin in November 1912, #38826, as CB&Q 1547, Class G-3.  It was sold as MECCo 1547 in July 1941.

1548 was built by Baldwin in December 1912, ##38838, as CB&Q 1548, Class G-3.  It was sold as MECCo 1548 in January 1942 and sold to Galva Iron & Metal Co.  It was sold to Mack Lowery in 1961 and moved to Ohio..
