Paducah Rebuilt Electro-Motive GPs 8700-8753
8702, GP9u, was built in September 1954, #19879, FN 5362-20, as Union Pacific 282. It was rebuilt at Paducah in June 1979 as ICG 8702. It was sold to Ohio Central RR as 8702 on May 5, 2000.
8703, GP9u, was built in August 1957, #23658, FN 5552-3, as UP 302. It was retired in May 1978 and sold to ICG in November 1978. It was rebuilt at Paducah in May 1979 as ICG 8703 and sold as South Central Florida Express RR 9023.
9389, GP9u, was built in December 1958, #25041, FN 5591-20, as 9389. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8708 in August 1979 and sold to Carload Express. It became Allegheny Valley RR 2006 and later wrecked. It was scrapped.
8709, GP9u, was built in January 1956, #20768, FN 5409-13, as 9130. It was rebuilt at Paducah in August 1979 as 8709 and sold to Railway Equipment Leasing Co as RLCX 1802 in 2005.
8710, GP9u, was built in December 1957, #23830, FN 5553-31, as 9330. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8710 in August 1979.
8711, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22318, FN 5480-46, as 9253. It was rebuilt at Paducah in August 1979 as 8711 and sold as Iowa Northwestern RR 8711 in 2002 and sold as Camp Chase Industrial RR 2007 in 2005. It was transferred as Allegheny Valley RR 2007 in 2007.
8712, GP9u, was built in August 1956, #22137, FN 5474-28, as New York New Haven & Hartford 1227, Class DERS-4. It became Penn Central 7557, Class ERS-17s, and became Consolidated Railroad Corp 7557, Class GP-9, in April 1976. It was transferred as Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority7557 on December 2, 1976, and sold to IC. It was rebuilt at Paducah in August 1979 as ICG 8712 and sold as OC 8712.
8713 (GP9u) was built in December 1958, #25024, FN 5591-3, as 9372. It was rebuilt in September 1979 as 8713 and later sold to OHC as 8713 on May 5, 2000..
8717 (GP9u) was built in December 1957, #23838, FN 5553-39, as 9338. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8717 in October 1979 and sold as Louisiana & North West 55.
8725 (GP7u) was built in October 1953, #18713, FN 5305-3, as Union Pacific 722, Class GP-7. It was renumbered 122 in October 1953 and retired on April 11, 1978. It was sold to Precision National Corp in November 1978 and sold to ICG in November 1978. It was rebuilt at Paducah as 8725 in November 1979. It became IC 8725 and sold to National Railway Equipment Co as NREX 8725.
8726 (GP9u) was built in December 1957, #23811, FN 5553-12, as 9311. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8726 in December 1979.
8727 (GP9u) was built in May 1954, #18812, FN 5307-16, as 9015. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8727 in February 1980.
8728 (GP9u) was built in December 1957, #23819, FN 5553-20, as 9319. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8728 in March 1980 and sold to Steel Processing on June 3, 1992.
8730 (GP9u) was built in August 1955, #22119, FN 5474-10, as NYNH&H 1209, Class DERS-4. It became PC 7539, Class ERS-17s, in 1969, and then Conrail 7539, Class GP-9. It was transferred to MBTA as 7539. It was later sold and rebuilt at Paducah in March 1980 as ICG 8730. It later became Brandywine Valley Ry as 8730.
8731 (GP9u) was built in August 1956, #22136, FN 5474-27, as NYNH&H 1226, Class DERS-4. It became PC 7556, Class ERS-17s, in 1969 and became MBTA 7556. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1980 as ICG 8731 and sold as South Central Florida Express RR 9030
8732, GP9u, was built in August 1956, #22123, FN 5475-14, as NYNH&H 1213, Class DERS-4. It became PC 7543, Class ERS-17s, in 1969 and became MBTA 7543. It was rebuilt at Paducah in March 1980 as ICG 8732 and sold as Quebec Central Ry GG3 "J M Giguere" on June 12, 2000.
8733, GP9u, was built in December 1958, #25038, FN 5591-17, as 9386. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8733 in March 1980 and donated to Monticello RR Museum in 2001.
8734, GP9u, was built in September 1957, #23704, FN 5552-49, as Union Pacific 348, Class GP-9. It was retired in May 1978 and sold to Precision National Corp on January 23, 1979. It was sold to ICG and rebuilt as 8734, GP11, in April 1980. It was sold to Canac Intl as CANX 8734 on February 14, 2001, and sold to Savage Inc as SVGX 8734 in 2009.
8738, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22296, FN 5480-24, as 9232, It was rebuilt at Paducah as 8738, GP11, in 1980 and retired on January 13, 1998. It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co 8738 in November 1998.
8739, GP9u, was built in December 1957, #23833, FN 5553-34, as 9333. It was rebuilt at Paducah as GP11 8739 in 1980 and sold as Southwest Pennsylvania RR 2001 on December 2, 1998.
8740, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22309, FN 5480-37. as 9244. It was rebuilt at Paducah as 8740, GP11, in 1980 and retired on December 22, 1995. It was sold as NREX 8740 in November 1987.
