Electro-Motive SW1 Diesels

8400, Class ES-6, was built in January 1939, #853, FN E217-1, as New York Central 574, Class DES-5a.  It was renumbered 8400, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8400, Class ES-6, in 1968 and became Consolidated Railroad Corp 8400, Class SW-1, in April 1976.  It was retired.

8401, Class ES-6, was built on January 30, 1939, #854, FN E217-2, as NYC 575, Class DES-5a.  It was renumbered 8401, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8401, Class ES-6, in 1968 and became Conrail 8401, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and scrapped at Hollidaysburg, PA, in June 1987.

8403, Class ES-6, was built in January 1939, #856, FN E217-4, as NYC 577, Class DES-5a.  It was transferred as Chicago River & Indiana 577, Class DES-5a and was renumbered 8403, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8403, Class ES-6, in 1968.   It became Conrail 8403, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and was later retired.

8409, Class ES-6, was built in March 1943, #1881, FN E521-4, as NYC 583, Class DES-5b.  It was renumbered 8409, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8409, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8409, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and sold for scrap to Midwest Iron & Steel Co.

8410, Class ES-6, was built in March 1943, #1882, FN E521-5, as NYC 584, Class DES-5b.  It was renumbered 8410, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8410, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8410, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and later retired.

8412, Class ES-6, was built in April 1949, #6392, FN E999-2, as NYC 586, Class DES-5c.  It was renumbered 8412, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8412, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8412, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and sold to Naporano Iron & Metal Co.

8420, Class ES-6, was built in April 1949, #6499, FN E999-9 as NYC 594, Class DES-5c.  It was transferred as CR&I 594, Class SW-1 and was renumbered 8420, Class ES-6, in 1966,  It became PC 8420, Class ES-6, in 1968,  It became Conrail 8420, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and sold to Naporano Iron & Metal Co.

8425, Class ES-6, was built in June 1949, #6405, FN E999-15, as NYC 599, Class DES-5c. It was renumbered 8425, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8425, Class ES-6, in 1968. It was sold to National Railway Passenger Corp as 243 in 1976 and was later renumbered 730. It later became Washington Terminal Co 730 and then was sold to Hartwell Ry as 7.

8429, Class ES-6, was built in May 1949, #6409, FN E999-19 as NYC 603, Class DES-5c. It was renumbered 8429, Class ES-6, in 1966, and became PC 8429, Class ES-6, in 1968. It became Conrail 8429, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and was later retired.

8430, Class ES-6, was built in May 1949, #6410, FN E999-20, as NYC 604, Class DES-5c.  It was transferred as CR&I 604, Class DES-5c, and was renumbered 8430, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8430, Class ES-6, in 1968.

8442, Class ES-6, was built  in June 1950, #11783. FN 6116-2, as NYC 616, Class DES-5d.  It was renumbered 8442, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8442, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8442, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and sold as Cairo Terminal RR 102.

8446, Class ES-6, was built in October 1950, #11787, FN 6116-5, as NYC 620, Class DES-5d.  It was renumbered 8446, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became PC 8446, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8446, Class SW-1, in April 1976.

8461, Class ES-6, was built in April 1939, #821, FN E217-14, as NYC 613, Class DES-5b.  It was renumbered 663 and renumbered 8461, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8461, Class ES-6, in 1968, and became Conrail 8461, Class SW-1, in April 1976.  It was retired.

8466, Class ES-6, was built in January 1940, #1012, FN 372-2, as NYC 619, Class DES-6c.  It was renumbered 669 and renumbered 8466, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8466, Class ES-6, in 1968, and became Conrail 8466, Class SW-1, in April 1976.  It was retired.

8472, Class ES-6, was built in January 1941, #1256, FN E372-8, as NYC 624, Class DES-6d.  It was renumbered 674 and renumbered 8472, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8472, Class ES-6, in 1968, and became Conrail 8472, Class SW-1, in April 1976.

8480, Class ES-7, was built in June 1941, #1265, FN E372-17, as NYC 633, Class DES-6d.  It was renumbered 683 and renumbered 8480, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8480, Class ES-6, in 1968, and Conrail 8480, Class SW-1, in April 1976.  It was sold as Wisconsin Central Ltd 1 "Francis J Wiener".  It was donated to Camp Five Museum.

8486, Class ES-6, was built in September 1941, #1271, FN E372-23, as NYC 639, Class DES-6d.  It was renumbered 689 and renumbered 8486, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8486, Class ES-6, and became Conrail 8486, Class SW-1, in April 1976.  It was sold for scrap to Midwest Iron & Metal.

8488, Class ES-6, was built in September 1941, #1273, FN E372-25, as NYC 641, Class DES-6d.  It was renumbered 691 and renumbered 8488, Class ES-6, in 1966  It became PC 8488, Class ES-6, in 1968, and became Conrail 8488, Class SW-1, in April 1976.  It was traded in to Electro-Motive.

8493, Class ES-6, was built in July 1941, #1278, FN E372-30, as NYC 646, Class DES-6d.  It was renumbered 696 and renumbered 8493, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8493, Class ES-6, in 1969, and became Conrail 8493, Class SW-1, in April 1976.

8494, Class ES-6, was built in July 1941, #1279, FN E372-31, as NYC 647, Class DES-6d.  It was renumbered 697 and renumbered 8494, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8494, Class ES-6, in 1969, and became Conrail 8494, Class SW-1, in April 1976.

8497, Class ES-6, was built in January 1942, #1589, FN E456-4, as NYC 651, Class DES-6e.  It was renumbered 701 and renumbered 8497, Class ES-6, in 1966.  It became PC 8497, Class ES-6, in 1968 and Amtrak 249 in 1976.  It was renumbered 736 and sold as Ohio Central RR 736 in 2002.

8502, Class ES-6, was built in April 1949, #6761, FN E1049-3, as Pennsylvania RR 9202, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8502 in 1966 and became PC 8502, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8502, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and scrapped at Hollidaysburg, PA.

8504, Class ES-6, was built in April 1949, #6763, FN E1049-5, as PRR 9204, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8504 in 1966 and became PC 8504, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8504, Class SW-1, in April 1976.

8528, Class ES-6, was built in November 1950, #11222, FN 6081-33, as PRR 9428, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8528 in 1966 and became PC 8528, Class ES-6. in 1968.  It became Amtrak 253 and was renumbered 740.  It was sold to Independent Locomotive Service as ILSX 1371.

8530, Class ES-6, was built in July 1948, #5383, FN E898-14, as PRR 9150, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8530 in 1966 and became PC 8530, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It was sold as Amtrak 254.  It was renumbered 741 and sold as Berlin Mills Ry 741.  It became St Lawrence & Atlantic Ry 41.

8540, Class ES-6, was built in July 1948, #5373, FN E898-4, as PRR 9140, Class ES-6, SW1.  It was renumbered 8540 in 1966 and became PC 8540, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It was rebuilt by Darby Corp in November 1970 as Kansas City Southern slug 203 and renumbered 4253 in January 1973.

8548, Class ES-6, was built on June 29, 1946, #3581, FN E694-2, as PRR 5948, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8548 in 1966 and became PC 8548, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8548, Class SW-1, in 1976.

8556, Class ES-6, was built in July 1950, #11190, FN 6081-1, as PRR 9396, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8556 in 1966 and became PC 8556, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8556, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and sold as Anthracite Ry 55.  It was sold as Octoraro RR 55 and sold to Big Dog Lines as BDLX 55.  It became Connersville & New Castle RR as CNUR 55 in December 2009.

8597, Class ES-6, was built in April 1948, #5674, FN E934-11, as PRR 5997, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8597 in 1966 and became PC 8597, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8597, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and sold as Transco Inc 333 in 1989.  It was renumbered 11-02.

8599, Class ES-6, was built in April 1948, #5676, FN E934-13, as PRR 5999, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8599 in 1966 and became PC 8599, Class ES-6, in 1968.  It became Conrail 8599, Class SW-1, in April 1976 and sold as Buckeye Central Scenic RR 8599.  It was sold as Zanesville & Western Scenic RR 8599 in February 2008.
