Independent Locomotive Service

1, SW600, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1960, #25862, FN 4434-1, as American Can Co 1.  It was merged into Weyerhauser Paper Co 1 in 1973 and merged as Domtar Corp in 2006.  It was sold as  ILSX 1.

180, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1971, #37274, FN 7305-7. as Louisville & Nashville 4036, Class GP-38.  It later became Seaboard System 4033 in January 1983 and renumbered 6257 in 1984.  It became CSX Transportation 2166, Class GP-38, in April 1986 and sold to Helm Leasing as HATX 180.  It was sold as ILSX 180 in 2008.

302, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1953, #18569, FN 5745-1, as Union Pacific  It was renumbered 110 in October 1953 and wrecked in 1977.  It was sold to Precision National on January 10, 1977.  It was rebuilt in 1978 and sold as Amtrak 778.  It was sold as ILSX 302.  It was leased to Noble Rocks RR as RETX 302 in August 1997.  It was and leased as Minnesota Northern RR 302.

320, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1939, #907, FN E273-1, as Minneapolis St Paul & Sault Ste Marie 320, Class D-4.  It became Soo Line RR 320 in January 1961 and sold as Great Lakes Coal & Dock Co 320 in November 1978.  It became Great Western Dock Terminal Co and later sold as ILS 320.

750, SW8, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1952, #16972, FN 6409-1, as Lehigh Valley 275, Class DS-4.  It was reclassified Class ESM-8 in 1962 and later became Consolidated Railroad Corp 8689, Class SW-8, in April 1976.  It was sold as National Railway Passenger Corp 750 and sold to ILS.  It was acquired by Lake Superior Railroad Museum and restored as NP 3617.

900, SW8, was built by General Motors in December 1951, #A297, FN C144-1, as Algoma Central 140. It became Wisconsin Central Ltd 900 in 1995 and sold to ILS as 900.

907, TR4A, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1950, #10520, FN 4023-A5, as Belt Ry of Chicago 506A, Class 502.  It was renumbered 506,  It was sold as ILS 907.

908, TR4A, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1950, #10517, FN 4023-A2, as BRC 503A, Class 502.  It was renumbered 503.  It was sold as ILS 908.

911, TR4B, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1950, #10522, FN 4023-B2, as BRC 503B.  It was renumbered 513.  It was sold as ILS 911 and leased as Minnesota Northern RR 911,

913, SW900, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1955, #20396, FN 4301-13, as Baltimore & Ohio 637, Class DS-20E.  it was renumbered 9412, Class SE-3, in 1956, and was reclassified Class SW-900 in 1965.  It was retired on September 8, 1986, and sold to Wilson Railway Corp on December 23, 1986.  It was sold as Nucor Steel Corp 9412 in November 1987 and traded as ILSX 913 in 2003.

914, SW1200, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1955, #19087, FN 4289-3, as Wisconsin Central RR 2122.  It became Soo Line RR 2122 in January 1961 and sold in May 1986 as Independent Locomotive Service 914.  It was leased to Nucor Steel.

915, SW1200, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1964, #28900, FN 7696-6, as St Louis South-Western 1067, Class Z12.  It was renumbered 2255, Class ES412C-3, in 1966 and retired in December 1986.  It was sold as Wilson Rail and sold as Indianapolis Coke & Gas Co 7.  It was sold as ILSX 7 and renumbered 915 in 2012.  It was leased to Nucor Steel Corp.

916, TR4A, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1950, #10516, FN 4032-A1, as BRC 502A.  It was renumbered 502.  It was sold as ILSX 916.

921, SW1500, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1972, #4608-85, FN 4608-85, as Southern Pacific 2675, Class ES415L-4.  It was sold as New Jersey Transit 503 and sold as ILS 921 in 2007.  It is leased to Chicago Terminal RR.

922, NW2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1948, #5269, FN E890-7, as Lake Terminal RR 1015.  It was sold as ILS 1015 and renumbered as 922 in 2012.

924, SW1500, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1972, #4620-6, FN 4620-6, as St Louis-San Francisco 352.  It became Burlington Northern 57, Class SW-1500, in December 1980 and Burlington Northern Santa Fe 3437, Class SW1500, on September 1,, 1998.  It was sold as ILSX 924 in August 2007.

928, SW1500, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1972, #4608-34, FN 4608-34, as SP 2624, Class ES415-5.  It became Union Pacific 1196, Class SW1500, on February 18, 1997, and became Y1196, on June 6, 2002.  It was sold as ILSX 928.

929, SW1500, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1973, #72631-7, FN 72631-7, as SP 2685, Class ES415-6.  It became UP 1229, Class SW1500, and renumbered UPY 1229 on August 31, 2001.  It was sold as ILS 929 in 2012.

932, SW1200RS, Class DRS-12c, was built by General Motors in August 1960, #A1900, FN C275-8, as Canadian Pacific 8154, Class DRS-12c. It was rebuilt in June 1982 as 1241, Class DRS-12, and retired in August 1, 2012.  It was sold as ILSX 932.

1323, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1959, #25092, FN 5592-20, as New York Chicago & St Louis 814, Class ERS-17G. In 1965 it became Norfolk & Western 2814. It was renumbered 1484 in 1983 and sold to General Electric on April 5, 1985. It was acquired by Dakota Minnesota & Eastern as 1474 "City of Tracy" on October 10, 1986, and was later sold to Taylor Machine Works. It was sold as Minnesota Northern RR 1484 and sold as ILSX 1323.

1326, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1966, #32031, FN 7887-41, as Southern Pacific 8840, Class EF636-1, a SD45.  It was rebuilt by National Railway Equipment as UP 4745, Class SD40-2, on April 6, 1999, and renumbered 2795 on December 29, 2001.  It was retired on April 14, 2002, and sold to CIT Financial as CEFX 2795.  It was relettered as CITX 2795 in 2008 and sold as ILSX 1326 in 2013.  It was assigned as St Croix Valley RR 1326 in May 2014.

1337, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1974, #73595-4, FN 73595-4, as Soo Line RR 778.  It became Canadian Pacific 778 in July 1983 and sold to ILS as 1337 in 2001.

1338, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1970, #35834, FN 7221-4, as Grand Trunk Western 5915, Class GF-30f, but was reclassified in February 1970.  It was retired on January 8, 1999, and rebuilt by Alstom as Burlington Northern Santa Fe 7303, Class SD40-2, in July 1999.  It was renumbered 6964 in March 13, 2008, and retired on January 21, 2011.  It was sold as ILSX 1338 in 2011.

1344, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1980, #796297-35, FN 796297-35, as Union Pacific 3693, Class SD40-2.  It was retired on December 21, 2001, and sold as Balfour Beatty Rail 202.  It was transferred as San Luis & Rio Grande 202 in September 2008.  It was sold as Independent Locomotive Service 202 in May 2010 and renumbered 1344 in 2010.

1348, GP38-3, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1969, #35428, FN 7191-125, as Penn Central 7799, Class EF-20.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 7799, Class GP-38, in April 1976 and sold to Chicago Missouri & Western as 7799 in 1986.  It was renumbered 2039 and became Gateway Western 2039 in January 1990.  It was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises as 4099, GP38-3, in October 1997.  It became Kansas City Southern 2006 in 2007 and sold as ILSX 1348 in 2009.  It was sold as Ellis & Eastern 47 in January 2010.

1358, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1950, #10944, FN 6056-3, as Northern Pacific 550.  It became Burlington Northern 1624, Class GP-7, in 1970 and rebuilt as 1421, Class GP-10, on April 17, 1975.  It was retired in July 29, 1986, and sold to ILS as 1368 on November 28, 1986.

1360, GP9M, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1959, #25069, FN 7569-10, as Great Northern 910, Class GP-5.  It became Burlington Northern 1360, Class GP-5, in 1970 and retired in May 1991.  It was sold as Independent Locomotive Service 1360 and sold as Dakota Missouri Valley & Western 1360 in July 1991.

1362, GP9M, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1959, #25060, FN 7569-1, as GN 912, Class GP-5.  It became BN 1362, Class GP-5, in 1970 and retired on November 10, 1982.  It was sold on April 26, 1983, as ILS 1362.  It was leased to Prairie States Co-op Terminal.

1363, Class GP-9, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1954, #19361, FN 5286-16, as GN 676, Class GP-9. It became BN 1828, Class GP-9, in 1970 and was sold as ILS 1363 in April 1983.

1365, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1959, #25325, FN 7575-51, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 330, Class 17.5E-RS.  It was sold as Independent Locomotive Service 1365 in March 1984 and later sold as Wyoming-Colorado RR 1365.

1367, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1950, #10900, FN 4042-1, as Union RR 471, Class D-57.  It was sold as Johnstown & Stony Creek RR 471 in 1963 and sold as Berman Bros Iron & Metal 471.  It was renumbered 1 and sold to ILS 1367.  It was sold as CHS Cooperatives 1367.

1368, SD7, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1953, #18670, FN 5300-2, as Pennsylvania RR 8589, Class ES-15a. It was renumbered 6551, Class ES-15ax, in 1966 and Penn Central 6551, Class ES-15ax, in 1968. It was renumbered 6951 in 1970 and became Consolidated Railroad Corp 6999, Class SD-7, in April 1976. It later was sold by a leasor of 6999 at Madison RR for a short time. It then became Terre Haute Brazil & Eastern as 6999. It was sold as Terminal RR of St Louis 6999 and renumbered 1751.  It was sold as ILSX 1368.

1370, SW8, was built by General Motors in August 1951, #A278, FN C122-1, as Wabash RR 127, Class D-8.  It became Norfolk & Western 3127 in 1965 and was renumbered 3727 in 1983.  It was retired in February 1988 and sold to ILS as 1370 in March 1988.  It was then sold to Bunge Corp as 1370. 

1371, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1950, #11222, FN 6081-33, as Pennsylvania RR 9428, Class ES-6.  It was renumbered 8528 in 1966 and became Penn Central 8528, Class ES-6. in 1968.  It became  National Railway Passenger Corp 253 and was renumbered 740.  It was sold as ILSX 1371.

1373, SW7, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1950, #9123, FN 4000-3, as Indiana Harbor Belt 8858, Class DES-16b.  It was reclassified as Class ES-12 in 1966 and stored in November 1985.  It was sold as Minnesota Valley RR 430 and transferred as ILSX 1373 in 1991.

1374, SW1200, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1955, #20182, FN 4288-8, as Minneapolis St Paul & Sault Ste Marie RR 328.  It became Soo Line RR 328 in January 1961 and sold in March 1999 as ILS 1374.  It was sold as Nucor Steel Co 905.

1378, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1953, #18189, FN 4214-4, as Boston & Maine 1122, Class DS-2c.  It became Springfield Terminal RR 1402 in 1987 and retired in July 1990.  It was sold to Rail Trust Equipment Inc as RETX 1402 in February 1992.  It was sold as ILS 1378.

1380, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1950, #11121, FN 6074-5, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 1505.  It was renumbered 95 in 1958 and retired on May 9, 1989.  It was sold to Wilson Ry in July 1989 and sold as Chicago & Central Pacific 1600 in 1989.  It was retired in April 1991 and sold as North Shore Scenic RR 652 in May 1991. It was sold as ILSX 1380 and leased as Minnesota Northern RR 1380.

1381, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1958, #23863, FN 5553-64, as Illinois Central 9363.  It was sold as Cedar Valley Ry  9363 in September 1984 and later sold as Charles City Ry 9363 in 1991.  It was sold as ILS 1380 in 1996 and assigned as Minnesota Northern RR 1381.

1382, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1956, #21090, FN 5454-2, as Northern Pacific 245.  It became Burlington Northern 1868, Class GP-9, in 1970 and assigned as Burlington Northern Santa Fe 1620, Class GP-9.  It was sold as ILS 1382 in December 1996.

1384, SD9, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1957, #23629, FN 5549-11, as Chicago Burlington & Quincy 450.  It became Burlington Northern 6197, Class SD-9, in 1970, and sold as ILS 1384 in 1999.

1386, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1964, #28779, FN 7694-8, as Texas & Pacific 607. It was renumbered 2507 in 1974 and then Missouri Pacific 2507 in 1974. It was rebuilt as 2605 in 1976 and sold to Wilson Ry Corp on January 5, 1987. It became Wisconsin Central Ltd 4003 in October 1987. It was later renumbered 4013 to make place for an SD40. It was later rebuilt and renumbered 2061.  It was sold as ILSX 1386.

1387, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1965, #29813. FN 7767-9, as MP 633. It was renumbered 2530 in March 1974 and rebuilt as 2612 in 1976. It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp on January 5, 1987, and then to WCLtd as 4008 in October 1987. It was rebuilt as 2056.  It was sold as ILSX 1387.

1388, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1963, #28777, FN 7694-6, as Texas & Pacific 605. It was renumbered 2505 in 1974 and then rebuilt to 2250 HP and renumbered 2603. It became MP 2603 in 1976 and later retired in August 18, 1986. It was sold to Wilson in January 5, 1987. It became WCLtd 4002 in October 1987 and rebuilt as 2051.  It was sold as ILSX 1388

1389, GP39-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1978, #776116-8, FN 776116-8, as Kennecott Copper Corp 797.  It was renumbered 111 in 1987 and returned as 797 in April 1988.  It was returned to Helm Leasing in August 1995 and rebuilt as HLCX 3951.  It was leased as Union Pacific 2750 on September 12, 1996, and assigned as 1250 in December 1999.  Instead it was retired on January 3, 2001.  It was sold to ILS as 1389.

1390, GP39-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1978, #776116-6, FN 776116-6, as KCCX 795.  It was renumbered 110 in 1987 and returned as 795 in April 1988.  It was returned to Helm in August 1995 and rebuilt as HLCX 3950.  It was leased as UP 2749 on August 25, 1996, and assigned as 1249 in December 1999.  Instead it was retired on January 3, 2001.  It was sold to ILS as 1390.

1391, GP9m, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1956, #22093, FN 5473-4, as Chesapeake & Ohio 6092, Class MRSE-17.  It became Class GP-9 in 1964 and rebuilt at Paducah as Illinois Central 7993 in 1973.  It was sold as Paducah & Louisville 8315.  It was sold as ILS 1391.  It was leased to Dakota Northern RR.

1416, GP10, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1950, #11042, FN 5029-11, as Great Northern  616, Class GP-7.  It became Burlington Northern 1516, Class GP-7, in 1970 and rebuilt in February 1975 as 1416, Class GP-10.  It was retired and sold as Independent Locomotive Service as ILSX 1416  in December 1990.  It was sold as Central RR of Indianapolis 1752 and resold to David J Joseph Co as JTPX 1752.  It was resold to Railway Service Contractors as MJRX 1752 and resold as Advanced Bio Energy Co as ABEX 1752 in June 2007.

1418, GP10, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1950, #11044, FN 5029-13, as GN 618, Class GP-7.  It became BN 1518, Class GP-7, in 1970 and rebuilt in March 1975 as 1418, Class GP-10.  It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 1418, Class GP-10, in January 2002 and sold as ILS 1418.

1907, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1957, #22725, FN 5505-6, as Northern Pacific 322.  It became BN 1907, Class GP-9, in 1970 and retired in February 1985.  It was sold as ILS 1907 in March 1985 and resold as ConAgra 1907 in September 1985.  It was sold to BDL Co as BDLX 1907 in 2007 and sold as Landisville RR 1907 in 2011.  It was sold as Claremont-Concord RR 1907 in March 2013.

3133, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2352, FN C630-6, as Canadian National 5093, Class GF-30e, SD40.  It was retired on August 6, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom in December 1998 as Kansas City Southern 6615.  It was renumbered 3133 in 2008 and sold as ILS 3133 in 2011.

3137, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2376, FN C330-12, as CNR 5117, Class GF-30e, SD40.  It was retired on July 31, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom in December 1998 as KCS 6613.  It was renumbered 3137 and sold as ILS 3137 in 2011.

3152, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in May 1971, #A2505, FN C338-13, as CNR 5188, Class GF30-K, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in January 1999 as KCS 6619. It was renumbered 3152 in 2008 and sold as ILS 3152 in 2011

8758, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1952, #16704, FN 6371-1, as Public Service of Northern Illinois 11. It became Commonwealth Edison Co 11 and later to Railway Equipment Leasing Co  as RE 503.  It was sold as Wisconsin Public Service Co 8758 and sold as ILSX 8758.
