Rebuilt Electro-Motive SD40-3 Diesels
600 was built in January 1966, #31264, FN 7846-2, as Chicago & North Western 868, SD40. It was retired on November 19, 1987, and sold to Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt as KCS 600 in April 1995. It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co.
601 was built in January 1966, #31272, FN 7846-10, as Chicago & North Western 876, SD40. It was retired November 19, 1987, and sold by Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt in July 1995 as KCS 601 and wrecked east of Calhoun, LA, on January 27, 2004.
602 was built in February 1966, #31276, FN 8075-1, as C&NW 880, SD40. It was retired on October 27, 1989, and sold to Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt in March 1995 as KCS 602.
603 was built in January 1966, #31277, FN 7846-15, as C&NW 881. It was retired on October 27, 1989, and sold to Livingston Rebuild in December 1989 and rebuilt as KCS 603 in 1995. It was scrapped.
605 was built in November 1966, #32106, FN 7914-6, as C&NW 890, SD40. It was retired on November 19, 1987, and sold to Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt in August 1995 as KCS 605.
607 was built in January 1967, #32687, FN 7952-2, as C&NW 895, SD40. It was retired on October 27, 1987, and sold to Livingston Rebuild Center in December 1989. It was rebuilt in April 1995 as KCS 607.
611 was built in January 1969, #34570, FN 7148-1, as C&NW 937, SD45. It was retired on November 19, 1987, and in October 1989 it was sold to VMV Enterprises as 937. It was later rebuilt as KCS 611 to SD40-3 standards in 1995 and renumbered 3138. It was retired.
613 was built in January 1969, #34578, FN 7148-9, as C&NW 943, SD45. It was retired on September 25, 1987, and in October 1989 it was sold to VMV as 943. It was later rebuilt as KCS 613.
614 was built in February 1969, #34603, FN 7148-34, as C&NW 970, SD45. It was retired on November 19, 1987, and sold to VMV in October 1989. It was rebuilt to SD40-3 standards as KCS 614 in 1995 and sold as Allegheny Valley RR 3004 in 2011.
617 was built in June 1970, #36365, FN 7261-5, as planned as Northern Pacific 3634, SD45. It was built as Burlington Northern 6476, Class SD-45, and retired in June 1985. It was leased as C&NW 6476 in December 1985 and retired on November 19, 1987. It was sold to VMV in October 1989 and rebuilt as KCS 617 to SD40-3 standards in August 1995. It was renumbered 3150 and sold as AVR 3001 in June 2008.
618 was built in December 1967, #33815, FN 7087-4, as Pennsylvania RR 6181, Class EF-36, SD45. It became Penn Central 6181, Class EF-36, in 1988 and Consolidated Railroad Corp 6181, Class SD-45, and was sold to C&NW as 6181 in February 1983. It was assigned 6509, but was retired on October 10, 1989, before renumbering. It was sold to VMV in October 1989 and rebuilt later as KCS 618.
619 was built in September 1969, #35483, FN 7194-7, as St Louis-San Francisco 935, SD45. It became Burlington Northern 6683, Class SD-45, in December 1980 and was retired on December 9, 1986. It was sold to VMV Enterprises in February 1987 and became Paducah & Louisville 6683 in March 1987. It was rebuilt at Paducah in 1995 as KCS as 619.
621 was built in December 1966, #31844, FN 5703-4, as ACL 1028, SD45. It became
SCL 2004 in May 1976 and SBD
2004 in January 1983.
It was renumbered 8904 in 1984. It later became CSX 8904, Class SD-45, in
April 1986 and sold to VMV as 8904. It was rebuilt to SD40-2 standards as
KCS 621 in May 1995.
622 was built in December 1966, #31846, FN 5703-7, as ACL 1030, SD45. It became SCL 8906 in May 1976 and SBD 2006 in January 1983. It was renumbered 8906 in 1984. It later became CSX 8906, Class SD-45, in April 1986 and sold to VMV as 8906. It was sold as VMV 8906 and rebuilt as KCS 622, SD40-3, in May 1995. It was renumbered 3108 and retired.
623 was built in October 1968, #34172, FN 7123-10, as SCL 2019, SD45. It later became SBD 8919 and then CSX 8919, Class SD-45. It was sold to VMV as 8919 and then rebuilt as KCS 623.
624 was built in October 1968, #34175, FN 7123-13, as SCL 2022, SD45. It later became SBD 8922 and then CSX 8922, Class SD-45. It was sold to VMV and rebuilt as KCS 624.
625 was built in September 1971, #37717, FN 5784-3, as SCL 2026, SD45. It later became SBD 2026 in January 1983 and renumbered as 8926 in 1984. It became CSX 8926, Class SD-45, in April 1986. It was then sold to VMV and rebuilt as KCS 625 in August 1995, It was sold to Maine Central for parts.
627 was built in September 1971, #37721, FN 5784-7, as SCL 2030, SD45. It later became SBD 2030 in January 1983 and renumbered 8930 in 1984. It became CSX 8930, Class SD-45, as April1 1986. It was sold as VMV 8930 and rebuilt as KCS 627, SD40-3, in August 1995. It was sold as Allegheny Valley Ry 3002 in 2008.
629 was built in September 1971, #37724, FN 5784-10, as SCL 2033, SD45. It later became SBD 8933 and then CSX 8933, Class SD-45. It was sold to VMV as 8933 and then rebuilt to SD40-3 standards as KCS 629.
630 was built in February 1969, #34605, FN 7148-36, as C&NW 972, SD45. It was retired on April 5, 1989, and sold to VMV in October 1989. It was rebuilt to SD40-3 standards as KCS 630 in 1995 and renumbered 3143. It was sold to América Latina Logística in 2008.
632 was build in January 1969, #34572, FN 7148-3, as C&NW 939, SD45, It was retired on November 19, 1987, and sold to VMV in October 1989. It was rebuilt as KCS 632.
634 was built in February 1967, #32695, FN 7951-7, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 5321, Class DE C-C 98. It was reclassified as Class EF636D-1 and retired in November 1994. It was sold to Progress Rail Services in May 1995 and rebuilt by VMV Enterprises as KCS 634, SD40-3, in January 1996. It was retired in 2008 and sold to National Railway Equipment Co.
670 was built in August 1968, #33962, FN 7097-1, as KCS 618, SD40. It was renumbered 4618 in 1994 and then rebuilt by VMV as 670 in August 1996.
671 was built in March 1971, #35845, FN 7223-2, as KCS 633, SD40. It was renumbered 4633 in 1994 and rebuilt by VMV as 671 in 1996. It was renumbered 3163.
672 was built in November 1966, #32108, FN 7914-8, as KCS 607, SD40. It was renumbered 4607 in 1994 and rebuilt by VMV as 672, SD40-3, on August 25, 1996. It was assigned 3121 but sold to Erman Corp. It was scrapped in July 1908.
673 was built in November 1966, #32112, FN 7914-12, as KCS 611, SD40. It was renumbered 4611 in 1994 and rebuilt by VMV as 673 in 1996.
674 was built in August 1968, #33965, FN 7098-2, as KCS 621, SD40. It was renumbered 4621 in 1994 and then rebuilt by VMV as 674 in 1997..
675 was built in March 1971, #35844, FB 7223-1, as KCS 632, SD40. It was renumbered 4632 in 1994 and rebuilt by VMV as 675 in October 1996. It was retired and sold to Progress Rail Service.
676 was built in March 1971, #35843, FN 7222-4, as KCS 631, SD40. It was renumbered 4631 in 1999 and rebuilt by VMV as 676 in September 1996. It was wrecked at Dallas, TX, on September 7, 2002 and rebuilt as 3165.
691 was built in June 1980, #786260-1, FN 786260-1, as SD40-2. It was rebuilt as SD40-3.
696 was built by General Motors in March 1969, #A2328, FN C326-1, as Quebec North Shore & Labrador 200, Class DRS30, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in January 1996, as KCS 696. It was renumbered 6092 in 2004 and sold to Larry's Truck & Equipment Co in September 2012.
698 was built by General Motors in February 1969, #A2330, FN C326-3, as QNS&L 202, Class DRS30, SD40. It was rebuilt by AMF in January 1996 as KCS 698.
913 was built in June 1978, #786136-1, FN 786136-1, as KCS 683, SD40-2. It was rebuilt by 913, SD40-3, in April 2011.
6600 was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2347, FN C330-1, as Canadian National 5088, Class GF-30e, SD40. It was retired on May 5, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom in November 1998 as KCS 6600, SD40-3. It was renumbered 3128 and renumbered 3138. It was sold as Mobil Grain Ltd 3138 in July 2011.
6601 was built by General Motors in October 1971, #A2531, FN C338-39, as CNR 5214, Class GF-30k, SD40. It was retired on May 27, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom in November 1998 as KCS 6601, SD40-3. It was was wrecked at Crawford, MS, on December 28, 1998 and later renumbered 3143. It was sold as MGLX 3143 in July 2011.
6602 was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2354, FN C330-8, as CNR 5095, Class GF-30e, SD40. It was retired on March 31, 1998, and sold to Alsthom on April 29, 1998. It was planned to be sold to New Brunswick East Coast Ry, but it was rebuilt as KCS 6602, SD40-3, in November 1998. It was renumbered 3131 and sold as Dakota Missouri Valley & Western 3131 in October 2011.
6603 was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2348, FN C330-2, as CNR 5089, Class GF-30e, SD40. It was retired on May 27, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom in November 1998 as KCS 6603. It was renumbered 3129 and renumbered 3139. It was sold as DMVW 3139 in October 2011.
6604 was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2349, FN C330-3, as CNR 5090, Class GF-30e, SD40. It was retired on May 27, 1998. and rebuilt by Alsthom in November 1998 as KCS 6604. It was wrecked west of Jackson, MS, in July 2005. It was retired.
6606 was built by General Motors in May 1970, #A2406, as CNR 5147, Class GF-30h, SD40. It was retired on May 27, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom in December 1998 as KCS 6606, SD40-3. It was renumbered 3147 and sold as MGLX 3147 in July 2011.
6607 was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2350, FN C330-4, as CNR 5091, Class GF-30e, SD40. It was retired on June 19, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom as KCS 6607 in December 1998. It was renumbered 3130 and sold as MGLX 3130 in July 2011.

6614 was built by General Motors in May 1970, #A2414, FN C333-27, as CNR 5155, Class GF-30h. SD40. It was retired on August 12, 1998, and rebuilt by Alsthom in December 1998 as KCS 6614. It was renumbered 3149 and sold as DMVW 3149 in October 2011.
