Electro-Motive GP38-3 Diesels
1001, GP38-3, was built in September 1967, #33467, FN 7075-19, as Louisville & Nashville 3028, Class GP-40. It became Seaboard System RR 3028 in January 1983 and renumbered 6824 in 1984 and later CSX Transportation 6824, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt by Motive Power Industries as Union Pacific 2501, GP38-3, on February 11, 1997. It was renumbered 1001 on September 3, 2001, and retired on November 26, 2007. It was returned as Helm Leasing Co 1001 and leased as KCS 1001. It was sold as Wichita Tillman & Jackson 1001 in April 2012.
1018, GP38-3, was built in January 1971, #36734, FN 7275-14, as Baltimore & Ohio 3753, Class GP-40. It was numbered 6529 in 1986 and became CSX 6529, Class GP-40, in 1987 and rebuilt by Motive Power Industries as UP 2518, GP38-3, on August 2, 1997. It was renumbered 1018 on April 23, 2003, and retired on November 15, 2007. It was returned as HLCX 1018 and leased as KCS 1018. It was sold as WT&J 1018 in April 2012.
1024, Class GP38-3, was built in February 1971, #36745, FN 7275-25, as B&O 3764, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 9764 from February 1981 and April 30, 1981, and renumbered 6540 in 1986. It became CSX 6540, Class GP-40, in 1987 and wrecked at Walbridge, OH, on January 15, 1996. It was retired on February 1, 1997, and sold to Helm Leasing Corp. It was shipped to Metro East Industries and rebuilt by VMV at Paducah as a GP38-3 on January 26, 1998 as Union Pacific 2524, Class GP38-3. It was renumbered 1024 on November 5, 2001, and retired on October 13, 2003. It was returned to Helm and leased as Kansas City Southern 1024. It was sold as Nebraska Central RR 1024 in 2011.
1902, GP38-3, was built in October 1969, #35435, FN 7191-132, as Penn Central 7806, Class EF-20. It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 7806, Class GP-38, in April 1976. It was sold to Chicago Missouri & Western as 7806 in 1986 and renumbered 2043 in 1987. It became Gateway Western 2043 in January 1990 and rebuilt by National Railway Equipment in February 1999 as 4096, GP38-3. It was wrecked at Kansas City on February 9, 2005, and restored as KCS 1902.
2002, GP38-3, was built in September 1969, #35403, FN 7191-100, as PC 7774, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7774, Class GP-38, in April 1976 and sold sold to CMNW 7774 in 1986. It was renumbered 2028 and became GWWR 2028 in January 1990. It was rebuilt by National Railway Equipment in 1999 as KCS 2002 and rebuilt by Motive Power as Kansas City Southern de Mexico 400, a GPTEB-C slug in December 2009.
2003, GP38-3, was built in October 1969, #35415, FN 7191-112, as PC 7786, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7786, Class GP-38, in April 1976 and sold as CM&W 7786 in 1986. It was renumbered 2032 in 1987 and became GWWR 2032 in January 1990. It was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises as 2101 and became KCS 2003.
2004, GP38-3, was built in October 1969, #35436, FN 7191-133, as PC 7807, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7808, Class GP-38, in April 1976. It was sold to CMNW as 7808 in 1986 and renumbered 2044 in 1987, It became GWWR 2044 in January 1990 and rebuilt by VMV Enterprised in 1998 as 4097, GP38-3. It became KCS 2004 in 2007.
2005, GP38-3, was built in August 1969, #35392, FN 7191-89, as PC 7763, Class EF-20. GP38. It became Conrail 7763, Class GP-38, in April 1976, and was sold CM&W 2024 in 1986. It became GWRR 2024 in January 1990 and rebuilt by VMV Enterprises as KCS 2002 in 1998, GP38-3. It was renumbered 2005 and became GWWR 4098. It was retired in 2008 and rebuilt by Motive Power as KCSM 401, a GPTEB-C slug in January 2010.
2006, GP38-3, was built in October 1969, #35428, FN 7191-125, as PC 7799, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7799, Class GP-38, in April 1976 and sold to CM&W as 7799 in 1986. It was renumbered 2039 and became GWWR 2039 in January 1990. It was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises as 4099, GP38-3, in October 1997. It became KCS 2006 in 2007 and sold to Independent Locomotive Service as ILSX 1348 in 2009. It was sold as Ellis & Eastern 47 in January 2010.
2040, GP38-3, was built in October 1969, #35429, FN 7191-126, as PC 7800, Class EF-20. It became Conrail 7800, Class GP-38, in April 1976 and sold to CMNW as 7800 in 1986, It was renumbered 2040 and became GWWR 2040 in January 1940. It became KCS 2040 in 2010.
