6500-6599

6502, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32646, FN 7943-3, as Baltimore & Ohio 3686, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered from October 13, 1979, until mid January 1980, as temporary 9686.  It was renumbered 6502 and became CSX 6502, Class GP-40.  It was retired on September 12, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as St Louis South-Western 7284, GM40M-2, on December 14, 1990.  It was assigned Union Pacific 5419 in September 1997 and assigned 1519, Class GP40M-2, in December 1999.

6503, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32647, FN 7943-4, as B&O 3687, Class GP-40. It was renumbered from October 25, 1980, until November 18, 1940, as temporary 9683. It later was renumber 6503 and then became CSX 6303, Class GP-40. It was retired on September 12, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen on December 28, 1990, to GP40M-2, as SSW as 7287. It was assigned UP 5422 in September 1997 and assigned 1522 in December 1999.

6504, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32648, FN 7943-5, as B&O 3688, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6504 and became CSX 6504, Class GP-40.  It was retired on October 21, 1996, and sold to Metro East Industries on December 6, 1996.  It was sold as Helm Atlantic Leasing 423 in 1997 and sold to Progress Rail Services as PRLX 2020.  It was sold as Belt Ry of Chicago 232 in October 2012.  It was rebuilt as model GP23-ECO in October 2013.

6505, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32649, FN 7943-6, as B&O 3689, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6506 in 1986 and became CSX 6506, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired on January 16, 1991, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on June 4, 1991, as SP 7119.  It was assigned as UP 5389, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1489, on July 16, 2004.

6506, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32650, FN 7943-7, as B&O 3690, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered from 1979 until mid-1980 as 9690.  It was renumbered 6506 and then became CSX 6506, Class GP-40.  It was retired and sold to Locomotive Leasing Partners on May 31, 2001.

6507, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32651, FN 7943-8, as B&O 3691, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered from August 13, 1979, and mid-1980 as 969165.  It was renumbered 6507 and then CSX 6507, Class GP-40.  It was resisted on July 23, 1991 and sold to Steel Processing Corp on November 9, 1992.  It was rebuilt by National Railway Equipment as Ferrocarril del Pacifico SA D2361 and shipped on August 1, 1998.

6508, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32652, FN 7943-9, as B&O 3692, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered in 1979 and January 1980 and between February 1981 and on March 8, 1981 as 9692.  It was renumbered 6508 and then CSX 6508, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudson on May 17, 1991, as GP40M-2, as Southern Pacific 7114.  It was assigned UP 5384 and became UP 1484, Class GP40-M2 on October 3, 2001.

6511, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32655, FN 7943-12, as B&O 3695, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6511 and became CSX 6511, Class GP-40.  It was retired on July 16, 1991, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 30, 1991, as GP40M-2, as SP 7127.  It was assigned UP 5405 in September 1979 and became UP 1505 on March 30, 2002.

6512, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32656, FN 7943-13, as B&O 3696, Class GP-40. It was renumbered between October 23, 1980, and November 1980 temporary 9696, It later was renumbered 6512 and then became CSX 6512, Class GP-40. It was retired on May 25, 1993, and sold to Helm Atlantic on July 22, 1993. It was then sold to Morrison-Knudsen. It was then rebuilt by Boise Locomotive on March 20, 1998, as Texas Mexican as 1174 and later returned as Helm Leasing.

6513, Class GP-40, was built in November 1966, #32657, FN 7943-14, as B&O 3697, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 6513 and then became CSX 6513, Class GP-40. It was retired on September 30, 1992, and was sold to Steel Processing Corp on April 26, 1993. It was rebuilt to GP40PH-2 by Atelier Montreal Facility as Virginia Rail Express V22.

6518, Class GP-40, was built in December 1970, #36723, FN 7275-3, as B&O 3742, Class GP40.  It was renumbered 6518 in 1986 and became CSX 6518, Class GP40, in 1987.  It was retired on October 30, 1992, and sold to Morrison Knudsen on May 4, 1993.  It was rebuilt at Boise as Maryland Area Regional Commuter 52, GP40WH-2, on July 13, 1994.  It was sold to Motive Power Industries and rebuilt as SunRail 100 in September 2013.

6519, Class GP-40, was built in December 1970, #36724, FN 7275-4,, as B&O 3743, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered from September 1979 until January 1980 as temporary 9743.  It became 6519 and became CSX 6519, Class GP-40.  It was retired on December 9, 1992 and sold to Steel Processing Corp on March 11, 1993.  It was shipped to Metro East Industries on April 19, 1993, and sold to Morrison Knudsen.  It was rebuilt by Boise Locomotive on April 10, 1998, as Texas-Mexican Ry 1175.  It was returned as First Union Rail 1175 and sold as Herzog Contracting Corp 206 in 2011.

6522, Class GP-40, was built in December 1970, #36727, FN 7275-7, as B&O 3746, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered from early 1979 until March 1980 as temporary 9746.  It became 6522 and became CSX 6522, Class GP-40.  It was retired in July 1998 and renumbered 9730, Class MOW, on September 1, 1998.  It was rebuilt as 2378, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6526, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971, #36731, FN 7275-11, as B&O 3750, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6526 and then became CSX 6526, Class GP-40. It was retired on June 23, 1994.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment on August 12, 1994, and sold as New England Central 6526 in March 1995.  It was renumbered 4049 in 1999.

6529, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971, #36734, FN 7275-14, as B&O 3753, Class GP-40.  It became CSX 6529, Class GP-40, and rebuilt by Motive Power Industries as Union Pacific 2518, GP38-3, on August 2, 1997.  It was renumbered 1018 on April 23, 2003, and retired on November 15, 2007.  It was returned as Helm Leasing Co 1018 and leased as Kansas City Southern 1018.  It was sold as Wichita Tillman & Jackson 1018 in April 2012

6530, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971, #36735, FN 7275-15, as B&O 3754, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered in 1979 until January 16, 1980, as 9754 and became CSX 6530, Class GP-40.  It was retired on June 8, 1990, and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen to GP40M-2, as St Louis South-Western 7293 on January 25, 1991.  It was assigned UP 5428 in September 1997 and became UP 1528 on December 28, 1990.

6531, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971 #36736, FN 7275-16, as B&O 3755, Class GP-40. It was renumbered in 1979 and 1980 numbered as 9755 temporary. It later was renumbered 6531 and then became CSX 6531, Class GP-40. It was damaged and retired on January 13, 1993. It was purchased by National Railway Equipment on May 3, 1993, and was rebuilt by VMV as Kansas City Southern 4749 in March 1994.  It was renumbered 2853 in 2005.

6532, Class GP-40, was built in January 1971, #36737, FN 7275-17, as B&O 3756, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9756 during March 1980.  It was renumbered 6532 and became became CSX 6532, Class GP-40. It was retired on June 23, 1994, and sold to Helm Atlantic Leasing as 400 on May 13, 1994.  It was sold as Green Mountain Ry 304 in December 1998.

6535, Class GP-40, was built in February 1971, #36740, FN 7275-20, as B&O 3759, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9759 from February 1981 and April 30, 1981, and renumbered 6535.  It became CSX 6535, Class GP-40, and retired on June 8, 1990.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SSW 7283, GP40M-2, on December 14, 1990, and assigned UP 5418 in September 1997 and assigned 1518 in December 1999.  It became UP 1338 on March 20, 2009.

6539, Class GP-40, was built in February 1971, #36744, FN 7275-24, as B&O 3763, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9763 from February 1981 and April 30, 1981, and renumbered 6539 in 1986.  It became CSX 6539, Class GP-40, in 1987 and sold to Locomotive Leasing Partners on May 31, 2000.  It was stored for parts.

6540 Class GP-40, was built in February 1971, #36745, FN 7275-25, as B&O 3764, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9764 from February 1981 and April 30, 1981, and renumbered 6540 in 1986.  It became CSX 6540, Class GP-40, in 1987 and wrecked at Walbridge, OH, on January 15, 1996.  It was retired on February 1, 1997, and sold to Helm Leasing Corp.  It was shipped to Metro East Industries and rebuilt by VMV at Paducah as a GP38-3 on January 26, 1998 as Union Pacific 2524, Class GP38-3.  It was renumbered 1024 on November 5, 2001, and retired on October 13, 2003.  It was returned to Helm and leased as Kansas City Southern 1024.  It was sold as Nebraska Central RR 1024 in 2011.

6545, Class GP-40, was built in March 1971, #37193, FN 7301-5, as B&O 3769, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6545 and became CSX 6545, Class GP-40.  It was retired on December 9, 1992.  It was sold as National Railway Equipment Co 6545 on February 15, 1993, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen Corp as 4303 on January 24, 1994, and leased to Bangor & Aroostook.  It was repossessed by Helm Atlantic on December 15, 2000, and sold as Paducah & Louisville 4303 in January 2001.  It was rebuilt as 2111 in May 2001.

6547, Class GP-40, was built in March 1971, #37196, FN 7301-8, as B&O 3771, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 9771 in February 1981 and back as 3771 on April 30, 1981. It was renumbered 6547, Class GP-40, and later CSX 6547, Class GP-40. It was retired on May 25, 1993, and sold as Helm Atlantic Corp in May 12, 1994. It was rebuilt in VMV in September 1, 1994, as Florida East Coast 444.

6550, Class GP-40, was built in March 1971, #37199, FN 7301-11, as B&O 3775, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9775 in 1979 and back as 3775 in January 1980.  It was renumbered 6550 and later CSX 6550, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt as 2362, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6551, Class GP-40, was built in March 1971, #37200, FN 7301-12, as B&O 3776, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9776 in 1979 and back as 3776 in March 1980 and back to 9776 in February 1981 and return as 3776 on April 30, 1981.  It was renumbered 6551 and later CSX 6551, Class GP-40.  It was retired on January 16, 1991, rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SP 7124 on June 25, 1991.  It was assigned UP 5402 in September 1997 and became UP 1502 on May 4, 2003.

6552, Class GP-40, was built in March 1971, #37201, FN 7301-13, as B&O 3777, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6552 and later CSX 6552, Class GP-40.  It was retired on June 8, 1991.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SSW 7292 on January 18, 1991.  It was assigned as UP 5427, Class GP40M-2, and became UP 1527 on June 12, 2004.

6553, Class GP-40, was built in March 1971, #37202, FN 7317-1, as B&O 3778, Class GP40.  It was temporarily numbered 9778 in mid February 1981 until April 30, 1981.  It was renumbered 6553 and became CSX 6553, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt as 2373, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6556, Class GP-40, was built in December 1971, #39247, FN 5811-12, as Chesapeake & Ohio 3781, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6556 and became CSX 6556, Class GP-40.  It was sold as Indiana Southern RR 6556 and renumbered 4038.

6557, Class GP-40, was built in December 1971, #39248, FN 5811-13, as C&O 3782, Class GP-40.  It was later renumbered 6557. It became CSX 6557, Class GP-40, and was renumbered 9722, Class MOW.

6561, Class GP-40, was built in December 1971, #39252, FN 5811-16, as C&O 3786, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6561 and became CSX 6561, Class GP-40.  It was sold as Indiana Southern RR 6561 and renumbered 4043.

6564, Class GP-40, was built in December 1971, #39255, FN 5811-19, as C&O 3789, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6564 and became CSX 6564, Class GP-40.  It was sold to Helm Atlantic Leasing as HATX 402 in 1994.

6565, Class GP-40, was built in December 1971, #39256, FN 5811-20, as C&O 3790, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6565 and became CSX 6565, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt as 9120, Class RCPHE4, in 2004, and rebuilt as 2369, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6566, Class GP-40, was built in December 1971, #39257, FN 5811-21, as C&O 3791, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6566 and became CSX 6566, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt by Boise Locomotive in March 1998 as Texas-Mexican RR 1173, GP38M-2.  It was sold to First Union Rail as FURX 2273 and sold as Yadkin Valley RR 2273 in 2007.  It was transferred to Knoxville Locomotive Works as KLWX Inc 2273 in 2009.

6570, Class GP40, was built in August 1971, #37886, FN 5791-1, as Western Maryland 3795, Class DS-33 It was reclassified Class GP-40 and renumbered 6570 in 1986.  It became CSX 6570, Class GP-40, in August 1987.

6573, Class GP-40, was built in August 1971, #37889, FN 5791-4, as WM 3798, Class DS-33.  It was reclassified Class GP-40 and renumbered 6573.  It became CSX 6573, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by National Railway Equipment Co in 1992 and sold as ISRR 6573 in 1992.  It was renumbered 4041.

6575. Class GP-40, was built in August 1971, #38480, FN 7340-26, as B&O 4000, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9000 from August 13, 1979, until January 1980.  It was renumbered 6576 in 1986 and became CSX 6576, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired in May 1930, #1992 and sold to National Railway Equipment on June 11, 1993.   It was rebuilt by VMV as Kansas City Southern 4744, GP40-2P in April 1994 and renumbered 2851 in 2006.

6577, Class GP-40, was built in August 1971, #38482, FN 7340-28, as B&O 4002, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9002 from October 24, 1980, until November 18, 1980.  It was renumbered 6577 in 1986 and then became CSX 6577, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired on June 23, 1994 and sold as HATX 403 on May 13, 1994.  It was apparently sold before it was retired.  It was rebuilt to GP40-3 as St Lawrence & Atlantic 3802.

6581, Class GP-40, was built in August 1971, #38486, FN 7340-32, as B&O 4006, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 6581 in 1986 and then became CSX 6581, Class GP-40, inn 1987. It was retired on January 13, 1993, and sold to National Railway Equipment on March 10, 1993, It was rebuilt by VMV as KCS 4746, GP40-2P, in June 1994 and renumbered 2852 in 2005.

6582, Class GP-40, was built in August 1971, #38487, FN 7340-33, as B&O 4007, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9007 in September 1979 and returned as 4007 in January 1980.  It was renumbered 6582 in 1986 and became CSX 6582, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was renumbered as 9700, Class MOW, on July 14, 1995, and rebuilt as 2368, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6583, Class GP-40, was built in August 1971, #38488, FN 7340-34, as B&O 4008, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6583 in 2006.  It became CSX 6583, Class GP-40, in 1987 and sold to Helm Leasing Corp on May 28, 1991.  It was rebuilt by Atelier in October 1992 as North Carolina Department of Transportation 1768 "City of Charlotte", GP40PH-2, and resold as Virginia Railway Express V24 "City of Manassas" in 2000.

6584, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38489, FN 7340-35, as B&O 4009, Class GP-40,  It was renumbered 9009 in 1979 and returned as 4009 in March 1980.  It was renumbered 6584 and became CSX 6584, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt as 9711, Class MOW on October 7, 1995, and sold as LLPX 3109 on May 31, 2000.

6585, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38490, FN 7340-36, as B&O 4010, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9010 in 1979 and returned as 4010 on January 16, 1980.  It was renumbered 6585 in 1986 and became CSX 6585, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired on June 23, 1994, and sold as HATX 519 on May 18, 1994.  It was sold to US Rail Partners as USRP 519 in 2011.  It was sold to Helm as HLCX 4225 in 2014.

6588, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38493, FN 7340-39, as B&O 4013, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6588 in 1986 and became CSX 6588, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was renumbered as 9709, Class MOW, on September 9, 1995, and rebuilt as 2377, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6591, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38496, FN 7340-42, as B&O 4016, Class GP-40. It was renumbered in March 1980 as temporary 9016.  It was renumbered 6591 in 1986 and then became CSX 6591, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in October 1991 and was completed on October 25, 1991, as VRE V10, RP39-2C.

6593, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38498, FN 7340-44, as B&O 4018, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6593 in 1986 and became CSX 6593, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired July 2000 and sold to National Railway Equipment Co.  It was rebuilt as United States Army 4652 in January 2004.

6595, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38500, FN 7340-46, as B&O 4020, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6595 in 1986 and became CSX 6595, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired.

6598, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38503, FN 7340-49, as B&O 4023, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 6598 in 1986 and became CSX 6598, Class GP-40, in 1987. It was retired on December 18, 1996, and sold to Locomotive Leasing Partner as 6598 on February 21, 1997. It was rebuilt by VMV on November 1997 as GP38-3 on Cape Briton and Central Nova Scotia as 3806. It was changed to Indiana & Ohio as 3806 on to Central Oregon & Pacific 3806 on 1999. It was then changed as Dallas Garland & NorthEastern as 3806.
