Electro-Motive Rebuilt GP40 Diesels

1335, Class GP40M-2, was built in February 1966, #31487, FN 7860-5, as Saint Louis South-Western 7604, Class EF430C-1.  It was rebuilt in 1982 as 7962, Class EF430TC-21.  It was assigned UP 5342 in September 1997 and assigned 1442 in December 1999.  It became UP 1335, Class GP40-2, on  June 17, 2008.

1338, Class GP40M-2, was built in February 1971, #36740, FN 7275-20, as Baltimore & Ohio 3759, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9759 from February 1981 and April 30, 1981, and renumbered 6535.  It became CSX Transportation 6535, Class GP-40, and retired on June 8, 1990.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as St Louis South-Western 7283, GP40M-2, on December 14, 1990, and assigned UP 5418, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and assigned 1518 in December 1999.  It became UP 1338 on March 20, 2009.

1341, Class GP40-2, was built in May 1970, #35912, FN 7229-16, as Seaboard Coast Line 1611. It became Seaboard System 1611 and was renumbered 6765. It later became CSX  6765, Class GP-40. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on June 19, 1991, as SP 7135. It was assigned as UP 5413 in 1997 It became 1341, Class GP40-2, and rebuilt as Class GP40N in March 2018.

1441, Class GP40-2, was built in March 1966, #31489, FN 7860-7, as SSW 7606, Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as SSW 7960, Class EF430TC-R1. It was assigned UP 5341, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and renumbered 1441 on November 16, 2001.

1443, Class GP40-2, was built in February 1966, #31486, FN 7860-4, as SSW 7603, Class EF430C-1.  It was rebuilt in 1982 as SSW 7964, Class EF430TC-R1.  It was assigned UP 5343, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and renumbered 1443 on September 29, 2004.  It was rebuilt as Y3002, Class S3-2B, on November 18, 2013.

1444, Class GP40-2, was built in March 1966, #31490, FN 7860-8, as SSW 7607, Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as SSW 7966, Class EF430TC-R1. It was assigned UP 5344, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and renumbered 1444 on October 26, 2001.  It was rebuilt as Y3001, Class GP59ECO, on November 18, 2013.

1460, Class GP40-2, was built in March 1966, #31488, FN 7860-6, as SSW 7605, Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as SSW 7965, Class EF430TC-R1. It was assigned UP 5360 in September 1997 and renumbered 1460 on December 13, 2005.

(1470), Class GP40M-2, was built in August 1968, #34090, FN 7102-14, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 207.  It was assigned Union Pacific 513, Class GP40, but retired on April 19, 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in November 1990, and rebuilt as Southern Pacific 7100, on February 15, 1991, a GP40M-2.  It was assigned Union Pacific 5370, Class GP40M-2, and assigned 1470 but retired.

1472, Class GP40M-2, was built in February 1969, #34830, FN 7158-8, as Baltimore & Ohio 3707, Class GP-40.  It was leased as 9707 between early 1979 and January 16, 1980, and returned to GATX on May 17, 1984, as 3707.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SP 7102, a GP40M-2, on March 8, 1991.  It was assigned as UP 5372 in September 1997 and renumbered 1472  on January 3, 2007.

1473, Class GP40M-2, was built in April 1969, #34859, #7158-37, as B&O 3736, Class GP-40.  It was leased as 9736 in March 1980 and between February 1981 and April 30, 1981.  It was returned to GATX on May 17, 1984, on 3736 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SP 7103, a GP40M-2, on March 8, 1991.  It was assigned as UP 5373 and became 1473 on October 10, 2007.

1480, Class GP40M-2, was built in February 1969, #34834, FN 7158-12, as B&O 3711, Class GP-40.  It was returned as GATX 3711 on May 17, 1984, and rebuilt by by Morrison Knudsen on April 10, 1991, as SP 7110.  It was assigned UP 5380 in 1997 and became UP 1480 on September 29, 2001.

1482, Class GP40M-2, was built in March 1969, #34844, FN 7158-22, as B&O 3721, Class GP-40.  It was returned as GATX 3721 on May 17, 1984.  It was rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen as SP 7112, a GP40M-2, on April 15, 1991.  It was assigned as UP 5382 in September 1997 and became 1482 on October 16, 2001.

1483, Class GP40M-2, was built in May 1966, #31787, FN 7897-3, as Seaboard Air Line 618.  It became Seaboard Coast Line 1535 and became Seaboard System 1535.  It was renumbered 6689 and became CSX Transportation 6689, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on April 16, 1991, as SP 7113.  It was assigned UP 5383 in 1997 and became UP 1483 in January 13, 2002.

1484, Class GP40M-2, was built in November 1966, #32652, FN 7941-9, as B&O 3692, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered in 1979 and January 1980 and between February 1981 and on March 8, 1981 as 9692.  It was renumbered 6508 and then CSX 6508, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudson on May 17, 1991, as GP40M-2, as SP 7114.  It was assigned UP 5384 and became UP 1484, Class GP40-M2 on October 3, 2001.

1485, Class GP40M-2, was built in December 1969, #35080, FN 7183-2, as SCL 1567.  It became SBD 1567 and renumbered 6722.  It became CSX 6723, Class GP-40, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on May 17, 1991, as SP 7115.  It became UP 1485 on December 13, 2001.

1486, Class GP40M-2, was built in November 1969, #35459, FN 7192-6, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 216.  It was assigned UP 586, Class GP40, but retired on February 6, 1990.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co in May 1990 and sold to Morrison-Knudsen Corp on March 6, 1991.  It was rebuilt as SP 7116, Class GP40M-2, on March 24, 1991, and assigned as UP 5386, Class GP40M-2.  It became UP 1486 on December 22, 2003.

(1487), Class GP40M-2, was built in November 1969, #35473, FN 7192-20, as MKT 230,  It was scheduled as UP 599, Class GP40, but was retired on February 6, 1990.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment in May 1990 and resold to Morrison Knudsen on March 6, 1991.  It was rebuilt as SP 7117, GP40-2, on May 24, 1991, and was scheduled as UP 5387 and rescheduled numbering as 1487.

1488, Class GP40M-2, was built in October 1971, #38529, FN 7340-75, as B&O 4049, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered as 9049 from August 13, 1979, and mid 1980.  It was renumbered 6624 and became CSX 6624, Class GP-40.  I was retired on January 16, 1991, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen  on June 4, 1991, as SP 7118.  It was assigned UP 5388 and became UP 1488, Class GP40M-2, on December 1, 2004.

1489, Class GP40M-2,  was built in November 1966, #32649, FN 7943-6, as B&O 3689, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6506 in 1986 and became CSX 6506, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired on January 16, 1991, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on June 4, 1991, as SP 7119.  It was assigned as UP 5389, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1489, on July 16, 2004.

1490, Class GP40M-2, was built in January 1970, #35103, FN 7183-25, as SCL 1590, GP40.  It became SBD 1590 in January 1983 and renumbered 6745 in 1984.  It became CSX 6745, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on June 14, 1991, as SP 7120 and became UP 1490, Class GP40M-2, on July 20, 2001.

(1491), Class GP40M-2, was built in December 1966, #32597, FN 7942-8, as Chicago Rock Island & Pacific 371. It was transferred to Union Pacific 628 on April 12, 1980, and then to Missouri Pacific 628 on November 16, 1984. It was retired and sold to Morrison Knudsen on August 10, 1987. It was rebuilt by MK on November 5, 1990, as SSW 7274. It was assigned UP 5391 in September 1997 and reassigned 1491 in December 1999.

1494, Class GP40M-2, was built in August 1970, #36825, FN 7272-7, as Western Pacific 3518, Class RS-69.  It was assigned Union Pacific 667 and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became Chicago Missouri & Western 3001. It became Gateway Western in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as St Louis Southwestern 7277, GP40M-2, on November 12, 1990.  It became UP 1494, Class GP40M-2, on October 17, 2005.  It was reclassified as GP40N in August 2019.

1495, Class GP40M-2, was built in September 1971, #37855, FN 7332-18, as WP 3544, Class RS-68.  It was assigned as UP 691, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm Financial Corp and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3010.  It became GW 3010 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in 1990 and rebuilt on November 30, 1990 as SSW 7276.  It was assigned as UP 5395, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1495 on October 29, 2003.

(1496), Class GP40M-2, was built in August 1971, #37844, FN 7332-7, as WP 3533, Class RS-68.  It became UP 681, Class GP40, in August 1985, and retired in September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3016.  It became GW 3016 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as SSW 7279, GP40M-2, on November 30, 1990.  It was assigned 1496, Class GP40M-2, but apparently never done.

1498, Class GP40M-2 was built in November 1969, #35464, FN 7192-11, as MKT 221.  It was assigned UP 591, Class GP40, but retired on February 22, 1989.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in June 1990 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as St Louis South-Western 7291 ib December 9, 1990, GP40M-2.  It was assigned as UP 5398, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became 1498 on September 5, 2007.

1501, Class GP40M-2, was built in May 1970, #35924, FN 7229-28, as SCL 1623.  It became SBD 1623 and was later renumbered 6777.  It then became CSX 6777, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on June 21, 1991, as SP 7123, GP40M-2, and became Union Pacific 1501 on July 30, 2001.

1502, Class GP40M-2, was built in March 1971, #37200, FN 7301-12, as B&O 3776, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9776 in 1979 and back as 3776 in March 1980 and back to 9776 in February 1981 and return as 3776 on April 30, 1981.  It was renumbered 6551 and later CSX 6551, Class GP-40.  It was retired on January 16, 1991, rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SP 7124 on June 25, 1991.  It was assigned UP 5402 in September 1997 and became UP 1502 on May 4, 2003.

(1504), Class GP40M-2, was built in July 1971, #38558, FN 7340-14, as Chesapeake & Ohio 4078, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6833 and later CSX 6833, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 16, 1991, as SP 7126 and assigned as UP 1504, Class GP40M-2.  It was apparently retired without renumbering.

1505, Class GP40M-2, was built in November 1966, #32655, FN 7943-12, as B&O 3695, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6511 and became CSX 6511, Class GP-40.  It was retired on July 16, 1991, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 30, 1991, as SP 7127.  It was assigned UP 5405 in September 1979 and became UP 1505 on March 30, 2002.

1508, Class GP40M-2, was built in April 1969, #34860, FN 7158-38, as B&O 3737, Class GP-40.  It was leased as 9737 beginning early 1979 until January 18, 1980, and again in March 1980.  It was returned as GATX 3737 on May 17, 1984, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SP 7130, GP40M-2, on April 1, 1991.  It was assigned as UP 5408 and became 1508, Class GP40M-2, on September 30, 2004.

1511, Class GP40M-2, was built in March 1969, #34842, FN 7158-20, as B&O 3719, Class GP40-2.  It was renumbered 9719 in 1979 and returned as 3719 in 1980.  It was returned as GATX 3719 on May 17, 1984 and rebuilt by Morrison -Knudsen as SP 7133, a GP40M-2 on May 19, 1991.  It was assigned as UP 5411, Class GP40M-2. in September 1997 and became 1511 on September 13, 2007.  It reclassified GP40N in August 2019.

(1513), Class GP40M-2, was built in May 1970, #35912, FN 7229-16, as SCL 1611. It became SBD 1611 and was renumbered 6765. It later became CSX  6765, Class GP-40. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on June 19, 1991, as SP 7135. It was assigned as UP 5413 in 1997 and UP 1513 in 1999.

1515, Class GP40M-2, was built in April 1969, #34858, FN 7158-36, as B&O 3735, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 9735 on August 13, 1979, and returned as 3716 in March 1980 and returned as GATX 3716 on May 17, 1984.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 1, 1991, as SP 7137.  It was assigned UP 5415 in September 1979 and became UP 1515 on June 12, 2007.

1517, Class GP40M-2, was built in August 1966, #32128, FN 5713-3, as MKT 176.  It was wrecked and retired on May 4, 1989.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen on May 22, 1990 and rebuilt on December 9, 1990, as St Louis South-Western 7282, a GP40-2.  It was planned as UP 5417 and became 1517 on July 22, 2005.

1519, Class GP40M-2, was built in November 1966, #32646, FN 7943-3, as B&O 3686, Class GP40.  It was renumbered from October 13, 1979, until mid January 1980, as temporary 9686.  It was renumbered 6502 and became CSX 6502, Class GP-40.  It was retired on September 12, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SSW 7284, GM40M-2, on December 14, 1990.  It was assigned UP 5419 in September 1997 and assigned 1519, Class GP40M-2, in December 1999.

(1522), Class GP40M-2, was built in November 1966, #32647, FN 7943-4, as B&O 3687, Class GP-40. It was renumbered from October 25, 1980, until November 18, 1940, as temporary 9683. It later was renumber 6503 and then became CSX 6303, Class GP-40. It was retired on September 12, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen on December 28, 1990, to GP40M-2, as SSW as 7287. It was assigned UP 5422 in September 1997 and assigned 1522 in December 1999.

1523, Class GP40M-2, was built in January 1970, #35101, FN 7183-23, as Seaboard Coast Line 1588, GP40.  It became Seaboard System 1588 in January 1983 and renumbered 6743 in 1984.  It became CSX 6743, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2 as SSW 7288 on December 28, 1990.  It was assigned UP 5423, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1523 on January 22, 2004.

1524, Class GP40M-2, was built in June 1966, #31788, FN 7897-4, as Seaboard Air Lane 619.  It became SCL 1534 in July 1967 and became SBD 1534 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6690 in 1984 and became CSX 6690, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SSW 7289 on January 18, 1991.  It was assigned UP 5424, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1524 on August 30, 2001.

1527, Class GP40M-2, was built in March 1971, #37201, FN 7301-13, as B&O 3777, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6552 and later CSX 6552, Class GP-40.  It was retired on June 8, 1991.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SSW 7292 on January 18, 1991.  It was assigned as UP 5427, Class GP40M-2, and became UP 1527 on June 12, 2004.

1529, Class GP40M-2, was built in September 1967, #33454, as Louisville & Nashville 3015, Class GP-40.  It became SBD 6811 and later became CSX 6811, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on February 25, 1991 as SP 7294 and was assigned as UP 5429.  It became UP 1529 on August 4, 2001.

1532, Class GP40M-2, was built in June 1966, #32123, as MKT 171. It was sold to Morrison-Knudsem on May 15, 1990, and was rebuilt on February 9, 1991, as SP 7297, GP40M-2. It was assigned as UP 5432 in September 1997 but renumbered 1532 on March 6, 2004.

1533, Class GP40M-2, was built in August 1966, #32127, as MKT 175.  It was wrecked an retired on February 28, 1989.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen on May 22, 1990, and rebuilt on February 9, 1991, as SP 7298, as GP40-2.  It was planned as UP 5433 on September 1997 and became 1533 on April 16, 2004.

1534, Class GP40M-2, was built in August 1968, #34091, as MKT 208.  It was planned as UP 514 but retired on May 15, 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen on May 22, 1990, and rebuilt as Southern Pacific 7299 on February 15, 1991, a GP40M-2.  It was assigned Union Pacific 5434 in September 1997 and renumbered 1534 on June 30, 2005.
