Slugs

 

S1 was built by Electro-Motive in March 1950, #9774, FN 4009-3, as Louisville & Nashville 2247, Class S-87.  It was rebuilt by General Electric in June 1979, as Southern Pacific 1010, SL-4B, and assigned as Union Pacific S1 but retired on August 31, 2000.   It was sold as Oregon Pacific RR  but never used.  It was sold to Archer Daniels Midland as SFGX 1010,

S5 was built by Electro-Motive in September 1957, #23720, FN 5552-B15, as 314B, GP9B. It was rebuilt on March 9, 1976, as S5, and retired on April 24, 1989. It was sold for scrap to Pielet Brothers on January 17, 1990.

S6 was built by Electro-Motive in September 1957, #23712, FN 5552-B7, as 306B, GP9B.  It was rebuilt on September 22, 1976, as S6, and retired on August 28, 1989.  It was sold for scrap to Pielet Brothers on January 17, 1990.

S11, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1952, #15831, as Texas & Pacific 811, SW8. It was renumbered 8001 in 1962 became Missouri Pacific 8011 in 1976. It was rebuilt as slug 1402 in June 1979. It became UP S11 on July 13, 1990, and renumbered Y905 on March 6, 2002.

S12, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1952, #15837, as T&P 818, SW8. It was renumbered 8007 in 1962 and sent to the Great Southwest RR in the early 1960s. It was later returned to the T&P in 1966. It was rebuilt as MP slug 1403 in September 1979. It then became UP S12 on January 29, 1988, and later assigned Y906 in December 1999.

S17, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1950, #11557, as MP 9145, SW7. It was renumbered 1213 in 1962 and rebuilt as slug 1408 in September 1980. It later became UP S17 on August 21, 1988, and renumbered Y911 on April 22, 2002.

S18, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1952, #15834, as T&P 814, SW8. It was renumbered 8004 in 1962 and became MP 8004 in 1976. It was rebuilt as slug 1409 in October 1980. It became UP S18 on October 3, 1988, and was assigned Y912 in December 1997.  It was retired on September 15, 2011.

S19, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1951, #14514, as T&P 1033, SW9. It was renumbered 1228 in 1962 and became MP 1228 in 1976. It was rebuilt in October 1980 as slug 1410. It became UP S19 on November 11, 1986, and renumbered Y913 on February 13, 2004.  It was retired on July 17, 2012.

S22, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1951, #12554, as MP 9173, SW9. It was renumbered 1235 in 1962 and rebuilt as slug 1413 in April 1981. It became UP S22 in March 10, 1986, and renumbered Y916 in March 11, 2002.

S24, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1950, #11999, as T&P 1023, SW7. It was renumbered 1218 in 1962 and 1204 in November 1974. It became MP 1204 in October 1976 and was rebuilt as slug 1415 in July 1981. It became UP S24 on December 26, 1985, and retired on December 19, 2000.  It was reinstated on January 11, 2001, but stored as of February 2008.  It was retired  on September 15, 2011.

S25, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1952, #15835, as T&P 815, SW8. It was renumbered 8005 in 1962 and became MP 8005 in 1976. It was rebuilt as slug 1416 in August 1981 and became UP S25 on March 13, 1986. It was assigned Y919 in December 1997, but retired on December 19, 2000.

S28, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #14022, as T&P 1024, SW9. It was renumbered 1219 in 1962 and became MP 1219 in 1976. It was rebuilt in October 1981 as slug 1419. It became UP S28 on October 3, 1988, and was assigned Y922 in December 1997.  It was retired on September 15, 2011.

S29, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #14329, as St Louis Brownsville & Mexico 9191, SW9. It became MP 9191 in 1956 and was renumbered 1253 in 1962. It was renumbered 1217 in November 1974 and rebuilt as slug 1420 in November 1981. It became UP S29 on September 30, 1988 and renumbered Y923 on October 11, 2001.

S31, Class SL-1, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1951, #14023, as T&P 1025 SW9. It was renumbered 1220 in 1962 and became MP 1220 in 1976. It was rebuilt in January 1982 as slug 1422. It became UP S31 on February 1, 1988, and renumbered Y925 on February 18, 2000.  It was sold to Tri-City & Olympia as 925 in 2009 but never used.  It was retired in August 2012.

S301, Class S5-2B, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1962, #27792, FN 5635-5, as Kansas City Southern 104, GP30.  It was renumbered 4104 in January 1973 and rebuilt as a slug by Morrison Knudsen as UP S301 on April 5, 1991.  It was renumbered Y927 on April 30, 2001, and renumbered S927 on October 12, 2007.

S303, Class S5-2B, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1963, #28397, FN 7661-10, as KCS 119.  It was renumbered 4119 in January 1973 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as UP S303, Class S5-2B, on April 5, 1991.  It was renumbered Y929 on February 19, 2002

(S312), Class S3-2B, was built by General Electric in April 1964, #34959, as Southern Pacific 7567, Class DF-624, U25B.  It was renumbered as 6765, Class GF425-3, in 1965 and rebuilt in Sacramento on May 29, 1981, as TEBU 1602, Class GF400-R1.  It was assigned as UP S312, Class S3-2B, but retired on March 26, 1997.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co on April 28, 1997, and sold to Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd as PHLX 6 in 2012.

S927, Class S5-2B, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1962, #27792, as Kansas City Southern 104, a GP30.  It was renumbered 4104 in January 1973 and rebuilt as a slug by Morrison Knudsen as UP S301 on April 5, 1991.  It was renumbered Y927 on April 30, 2001, and renumbered S927 on October 12, 2007.

Y433, Class PS6B, was built in September 1978, #776099-31, FN 776099-31, as MP 3246, SD40-2. It became UP 4246, Class SD40-2, on May 14, 1990, and was renumbered 9929 on August 16, 2000.  It was rebuilt as SD38-2 as UPY866, Class SD38-2, on April 28, 2005.  It was rebuilt as UPY433, Class PS6B, on March 1, 2018.

Y440, Class PS6B, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1974, #74605-5, FN 74605-5, as Chicago & Illinois Midland 74, SD38-2. It became UP 2804, Class SD38-2, on April 25, 1995, and was renumbered Y804 on September 19, 2001.   It was rebuilt as UPY440, Class PS6B, on March 19, 2018.

Y446, Class PS6B, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1975, #75618-4, FN 75618-4, as Chicago & North Western 6653.  It became UP 2809, Class SD38-2, on October 16, 1995. and renumbered Y809 on October 24, 2001.  It was rebuilt as UPY 891, Class PS6B, and renumbered Y446 on November 18, 2018.

Y448, Class PS6B, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1975, #75618-5, FN 75618-5, as C&NW 6654.  It became UP 2810, Class SD38-2, on July 21, 1995, and renumbered Y810 on November 21, 2001.  It was rebuilt as Y448, Class PS6B, on December 17, 2018

Y449, Class PS6B, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1975, #75618-3, FN 75618-3, as Chicago & North Western 6652.  It became UP 2808, Class SD38-2, on June 25, 1995. and renumbered Y808 on November 28, 2001.  It was was rebuilt as Class S3-2B and renumbered Y449, Class PS6B, on December 17, 2018.

Y826, Class PS6B, was built in May 1979, #786178-23, FN 786178-23, as MP 3288.  It became UP 4288, Class SD40-2, on November 8, 1985, and renumbered B4288 on May 26, 1989.  It was rebuilt as 2828, Class SD38-2, on April 21, 1998, and renumbered UPY826 on October 24, 2001.  It was rebuilt as Class PS6B in June 2019.

Y837, Class PS6B, was built in September 1978, #776099-25, FN 776099-25, as MP 3240.  It became UP 4240, Class SD40-2, on March 15, 1988, and rebuilt as B4240 on July 14, 1992.  It was rebuilt as 2837, Class SD38-2, on January 18, 1999, and renumbered as Y837, Class SD38-2, on July 10, 2001.  It was reclassified as Class PS6B on November 8, 2018.

Y838, Class PS6B, was built in August 1978, #777100-1, FN 777100-1, as MP 3252.  It became UP 4252, Class SD40-2, on July 22, 1987, and renumbered B4252 on October 30, 1992.  It was rebuilt on February 22, 1999, as 2838, Class SD38-2, and renumbered UPY838 on July 7, 2001.  It was rebuilt as Class PS6B, on April 25, 2018.

Y847, Class PS6B, was built in August 1978, #776099-4, FN 776099-4, as MP 3219.  It became UP 4219, Class SD40-2, on September 22, 1986 and renumbered B4219 on June 18, 1992.  It was rebuilt on December 17, 1999 as UPY 847, Class SD38-2.  It was rebuilt as Class PS6B in June 2019.

Y853, Class PS6B, was built in April 1980, #786269-8, FN 786269-8, as MP 3319.  It became UP 4319, Class SD40-2, on January 30, 1989, and assigned as 9949.  It was rebuilt as UPY 853, Class SD38-2, on February 22, 2000.  It was reclassified as Class PS6B on November 8, 2018.

Y855, Class PS6B, was built in September 1979, #776099-36, FN 776099-36, as MP 3251.  It became UP 4251, Class SD40-2, on April 30, 1986, and renumbered B4251 on December 16, 1992.  It was retired on March 29, 2000, and rebuilt as UPY855, Class SD38-2, on May 26, 2000.  It was reclassified as Class PS6B in September 2019.

Y939, Class S6-1B, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1981, #807023-8, FN 807023-8, as MP 3517, GP50. It was assigned UP 67 in 1988 and became UP 977 on July 31, 1989. It was later assigned 5575 in 1996 but retired on July 25, 2002.  It was rebuilt as road slug Y939 on July 1, 2003.

Y940, Class S6-1B, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1980, #797322-4, FN 797322-4, as MP 3503, GP50.  It became UP 963, Class GP50, on January 4, 1989, and rebuilt by VMV Enterprises on February 25, 1993.  It was renumbered 5561 on December 4, 1997, and was rebuilt on November 26, 2003, as rebuilt as road slug UPY 940, S6-1B.  It was retired on December 3, 2018.

Y3002, Class S3-2B, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1966, #31486, FN 7860-4, as Saint Louis South-Western 7603, Class EF430C-1.  It was rebuilt in 1982 as SSW 7964, Class EF430TC-R1.  It was assigned UP 5343, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and renumbered 1443 on September 29, 2004.  It was rebuilt as Y3002, Class S3-2B, on November 18, 2013.
