Electro-Motive Rebuilt GP40 Diesels
7274 was built in December 1966, #32597, FN 7942-10, as Chicago Rock Island & Pacific 371. It was transferred to Union Pacific 628 on April 12, 1980, and then to Missouri Pacific 628 on November 16, 1984. It was retired and sold to Morrison Knudsen on August 10, 1987. It was rebuilt by MK on November 5, 1990, as SSW 7274. It was assigned UP 5391 in September 1997 and reassigned 1491 in December 1999.
7276 was built in September 1971, #37855, FN 7332-18, as Western Pacific 3544, Class RS-68. It was assigned as Union Pacific 691, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986. It was returned to Helm Financial Corp and in April 1987 it became Chicago Missouri & Western 3010. It became Gateway Western 3010 in January 1990. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in 1990 and rebuilt on November 30, 1990 as SSW 7276. It was assigned as UP 5395, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1495 on October 29, 2003.
7277 was built in August 1970, #36825, FN 7272-7, as WP 3518, Class RS-69. It was assigned UP 667 and retired on August 20, 1985. It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3001. It became GW in January 1990. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as SSW 7277, GP40M-2, on November 12, 1990. It became UP 1494, Class GP40M-2, on October 17, 2005. It was reclassified as GP40N in August 2019.
7279 was built in August 1971, #37844, FN 7332-7, as WP 3533, Class RS-68. It became UP 681, Class GP40, in August 1985, and retired in September 30, 1986. It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3016. It became GW 3016 in January 1990. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as SSW 7279, GP40M-2, on November 30, 1990. It was assigned 1496, Class GP40M-2, but apparently never done.
7280 was built in September 1971, #37849, FN 7332-12, as WP 3538, Class RS-68. It became UP 686 in August 1985 and retired on September 30, 1986. It was sold as CM&W 3021 in April 1987 and became GW 3021 in January 1990. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in 1990 and rebuilt on November 30, 1990 as SSW 7280. It was assigned as UP 5397 in September 1997 and became UP 1497 on August 6, 2004.
7282 was built in August 1966, #32128,, FN 5713-3 as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 176. It was wrecked and retired on May 4, 1989. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen on May 22, 1990 and rebuilt on December 9, 1990, as SSW 7282, a GP40-2. It was planned as UP 5417 and became 1517 on July 22, 2005.
7283 was built in February 1971, #36740, FN 7275-20, as Baltimore & Ohio 3759, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 9759 from February 1981 and April 30, 1981, and renumbered 6535. It became CSX Transportation 6535, Class GP-40, and retired on June 8, 1990. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SSW 7283, GP40M-2, on December 14, 1990, and assigned UP 5418 in September 1997 and assigned 1518 in December 1999. It became UP 1338 on March 20, 2009.
7284 was built in November 1966, #32646, FN 7943-3, as B&O 3686, Class GP40. It was renumbered from October 13, 1979, until mid January 1980, as temporary 9686. It was renumbered 6502 and became CSX 6502, Class GP-40. It was retired on September 12, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SSW 7284, GM40M-2, on December 14, 1990. It was assigned UP 5419 in September 1997 and assigned 1519, Class GP40M-2, in December 1999.
7287 was built in November 1966, #32647, FN 7943-4, as B&O 3687, Class GP-40. It was renumbered from October 25, 1980, until November 18, 1940, as temporary 9687. It later was renumber 6503 and then became CSX 6303, Class GP-40. It was retired on September 12, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen on December 28, 1990, to GP40M-2, as SSW 7287. It was assigned UP 5422 in September 1997 and assigned 1522 in December 1999.
7288 was built in January 1970, #35101, FN 7183-23, as Seaboard Coast Line 1588, GP40. It became Seaboard System 1588 in January 1983 and renumbered 6743 in 1984. It became CSX 6743, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2 as SSW 7288 on December 28, 1990. It was assigned UP 5423, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1523 on January 22, 2004.
7289 was built in June 1966, #31788, FN 7897-4, as Seaboard Air Lane 619. It became SCL 1534 in July 1967 and became SBD 1534 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6690 in 1984 and became CSX 6690, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SSW 7289 on January 18, 1991. It was assigned UP 5424, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1524 on August 30, 2001.
7291 was built in November 1969, #35464, FN 7192-11, as MKT 221. It was assigned UP 591, Class GP40, but retired on February 22, 1989. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in June 1990 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as St Louis South-Western 7291 ib December 9, 1990, GP40M-2. It was assigned as UP 5398, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became 1498 on September 5, 2007.
7292 was built in March 1971, #37201, FN 7301-13, as B&O 3777, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 6552 and later CSX 6552, Class GP-40. It was retired on June 8, 1991. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SSW 7292 on January 18, 1991. It was assigned as UP 5427, Class GP40M-2, and became UP 1527 on June 12, 2004.
7293 was built in January 1971, #36735, FN 7275-15, as B&O 3754, Class GP-40. It was renumbered in 1979 until January 16, 1980, as 9754 and became CSX 6530, Class GP-40. It was retired on June 8, 1990, and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen to GP40M-2, as SSW 7293 on January 25, 1991. It was assigned UP 5428 in September 1997 and became UP 1528 on December 28, 1990.
7960, Class EF430TC-R1, was built in March 1966, #31489, FN 7860-7, as SSW 7606, Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as 7960, Class EF430TC-R1. It was assigned UP 5341 in September 1997 and renumbered 1441 on November 16, 2001.
7962, Class EF430TC-R1, was built in February 1966, #31487, FN 7860-5, as SSW 7604, Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as 7962, Class EF430TC-21. It was assigned UP 5342, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and assigned 1442 in December 1999. It became UP 1335, Class GP40-2, on June 17, 2008.
7964, Class EF430TC-R1, was built in February 1966, #31486, FN 7860-4, as SSW 7603, Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as SSW 7964, Class EF430TC-R1. It was assigned UP 5343, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and renumbered 1443 on September 29, 2004. It was rebuilt as Y3002, Class S3-2B, on November 18, 2013.
7965, Class EF430TC-R1, was built in March 1966, #31488, FN 7860-6, as SSW 7605, Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as 7965, Class EF430TC-R1. It was assigned UP 5360, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and later 1460 in September 1997.
7966, Class EF430TC-R1, was built in March 1966, #31490, FN 7860-8, as SSW 7607, ac Class EF430C-1. It was rebuilt in 1982 as 7966, Class EF430TC-R1. It was assigned UP 5344, Class GP40-2, in September 1997 and renumbered 1444 on October 26, 2001. It was rebuilt as Y3001, Class GP59ECO, on November 18, 2013.
