Electro-Motive GP40 Diesels

3501, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31662, FN 7378-1.  It became Union Pacific 651, Class GP-40, on December 30, 1983, and transferred as Missouri Pacific 651 on May 22, 1985.  It was returned as UP 651 on April 17, 1988, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as Kansas City Southern 4765 on November 12, 1993, and renumbered 2806 in 2005.

3502, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31663, FN 7878-2. It became UP 652, Class GP-40, on January 9, 1984, and was retired April 5, 1993. It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on November 20, 1993, as KCS 4766, GP40-3, and later sold to National Railway Equipment Co.

3503, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31664, FN 7878-3.  It became UP 653, Class GP-40, on April 18, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1953.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on November 20, 1993, as KCS 4767, GP40-3.  It was renumbered 2808 in 2005.

3504, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31665, FN 7878-4.  It became UP 654, Class GP40, on January 20, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on December 9, 1993, as KCS 4768, GP40-3.  It was renumbered 2809 in 2005.

3507, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31668, FN 7878-7,.  It became UP 656, Class GP40, on May 9, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on November 6, 1993 as KCS 4770.  It was rebuilt 2811 in 2005.

3508, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31669, FN 7878-8.  It became UP 657, Class GP40, on April 13, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on December 16, 1993, as KCS 4771, GP40-3,  It was renumbered 2812 in 2005.

3509, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31670, FN 7878-9.  It became UP 658, Class GP40, on November 23, 1983, and retired on April 5,, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on December 21, 1993, as KCS 4772 and renumbered 2813 in 2005.

3510, Class RS-68, was built in May 1966, #31671, FN 7878-10.  It became UP 659, Class GP40, on July 9, 1984, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison-Knudsen where it was rebuilt on December 27, 1993, as KCS 4773 and renumbered 2814 in 2005.

3511, Class RS-68, was built in March 1967, #33056, FN 7981-1.  It became UP 660, Class GP40 on July 16, 1984, and was retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on January 4, 1994, as KCS 4774 and renumbered 2819 in 2005.

3513, Class RS-68, was built in March 1967, #33058, FN 7981-3.  It became UP 662, Class GP40, on March 4, 1984, and transferred as MP 662 on May 21, 1984.  It became UP 662 on April 26, 1989, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on January 11, 1994, as KCS 4776 and renumbered 2821 in 2005.

3515, Class RS-68, was built in March 1967, #33060, FN 7981-5.  It became UP 664, Class GP40, on December 10, 1965, and was retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on January 25, 1994, as KCS 4778 and renumbered 2823 in 2005.

3516, Class RS-68, was built in April 1967, #33061, FN 7981-6 .  It became UP 665, Class GP40, on April 6, 1984, and transferred as MP 665 on May 23, 1985.  It was returned as UP 665 on March 12, 1988, and retired on April 5, 1993.  It went to Morrison Knudsen where it was rebuilt on January 27, 1994, as KCS 4779 and renumbered 2824 in 2005.

3518, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36825, FN 7272-2.  It was assigned UP 667, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  IIt was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became Chicago Missouri & Western 3001. It became Gateway Western in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as St Louis Southwestern 7277, GP40M-2, on November 12, 1990.  It became UP 1494, Class GP40M-2, on October 17, 2005.  It was reclassified as GP40N in August 2019.

3519, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36826, FN 7272-3. It was assigned UP, Class GP-40, as 668 and retired on August 20, 1985. It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3002. It became GW 3002 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990 and then to Wisconsin Central Ltd as 3002 in December 1990.

3520, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36827, FN 7272-4. It was assigned UP as 669, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985. It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3003. It became GW 3003 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3003 in December 1990.  It was retired on December 17, 2006, and sold.

3521, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36828, FN 7272-5.  It was assigned UP as 670, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm Financial Corp, and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3004.  It became GW 3004 in January 1990,  It was sold to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3004 in December 1990.  It was sold to Canon City & Royal Gorge RR as CRRX 3104.

3522, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36783, FN 7272-1. It was assigned UP as 671, Class GP-40, and retired on August 31, 1985. It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3005. It became GW 3005 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3005 in December 1990.  It sold to Progress Rail as PRLX 3005 in 2008

3523, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36784, FN 7272-2.  It was assigned UP as 672, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3009. It became GW 3009 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3006 in December 1990.  It was sold to Progress Rail in 2012 and sold as Bulkmatic Transport Co 006 in December 2013.

3524, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36785, FN 7272-3.  It was assigned UP as 673, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3007.  It became GW 3007 in January 1990.  It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3007 in November 1990.

3525, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36786, FN 7272-4.  It was assigned UP as 674, Class GP-40, and retired on August 20, 1985.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3008.  It became GW 3008 in January 1990.  It was sold as Kansas City Southern 3150 and renumbered 2700.  It was sold to Utah RR 2700 and renumbered 3002.

3526, Class RS-68, was built in August 1970, #36787, FN 7272-5. It was assigned UP as 675, Class GP-40, and retired on August 31, 1985. It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3009. It became GW 3009 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3009 in November 1990.

3528, Class RS-68, was built in August 1971, #37839, FN 7332-1. It became UP 676 in August 1985 and sold to Helm Leasing Corp in September 30, 1986. It was sold to CM&W as 676 in April 1987 and renumbered 3011. It became GW 3011 in January 1990 and later to Wilson Ry Corp in September 1990. It was then sold to WCLtd as 3011 in November 1990.  It was sold as PRLX 3011 in 2008 and rebuilt by Progress Rail as 24, PR24B, in 2016, #7332-2

3529, Class RS-68, was built in August 1971, #37840, FN 7332-3. It was assigned UP 677, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986. It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W as 3012. It became GW 3012 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3012 in November 1990.

3530, Class RS-68, was built in August 1971, #37841, FN 7332-4.  It was assigned UP 678, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3013.  It became GW 3013 in January 1990 and rebuilt by National Railway Equipment in 2000 as 4799, a GP40-3.  It became Kansas City Southern 2857.

3532, Class RS-68, was built in August 1971, #37843, FN 7332-6.  It became UP 680, Class GP40, on December 8, 1983, and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3015.  It became GW 3015 in January 1990 and sold to Wilson in September 1990.  It was sold to WCLtd as 3015 in November 1990 and was wrecked at Green Bay on January 24, 1995.

3533, Class RS-68, was built in August 1971, #37844, FN 7332-7.  It became UP 681, Class GP40, in August 1985, and retired in September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3016.  It became GW 3016 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in July 1990 and rebuilt as SSW 7279, GP40M-2, on November 30, 1990.  It was assigned 1496, Class GP40M-2, but apparently never done.

3534, Class RS-68,was built in August 1971, #37845, FN 7332-8.  It was assigned UP as 682 and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W as 3017.  It became GW 3017 in January 1990 and sold to Wilson in September 1990.  It was sold to WCLtd as 3017 in November 1990.

3556, Class RS-68, was built in August 1971, #37847, FN 7332-10.  It became UP 684, Class GP40, in August 1985 and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm as HLCX 684 and in April 1987 it became CM&W as 3019.  It became GW 3019 in January 1990 and sold as Kansas City Southern 3019.  It was rebuilt as 3151.

3537, Class RS-68, was built in September 1971, #37848, FN 7332-11. It was assigned UP 685, Class GP40, but was retired on September 1986 and returned to GATX. It went to CM&W as 3020 in April 1987 and became GW 3020 in 1990.  It became KCS 3152.

3538, Class RS-68, was built in September 1971, #37849, FN 7332-12.  It became UP 686 Class GP40, in August 1985  and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was sold as CM&W 3021 in April 1987 and became GW 3021 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in 1990 and rebuilt on November 30, 1990 as St Louis South-Western 7280.  It was assigned as Union Pacific 5397, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1497 on August 6, 2004.

3541, Class RS-68, was built in September 1971, #37852, FN 7332-15. It was numbered 1976 for a short time.  It was assigned as UP 688, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986. It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3023. It became GW 3023 in January 1990. It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3023 in December 1990.  It was sold to Progress Rail Services and leased to Harbor Rail Services as HRSX 3002.

3542, Class RS-68, was built in September 1971, #37853, FN 7332-16.  It was assigned as UP 689, Class GP-40, but retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3024.  It became GW 3024 in January 1990.  It was sold to Wilson in September 1990 and then to WCLtd as 3024 in December 1990.

3543, Class RS-68, was built in September 1971, #37854, FN 7332-17.  It became UP 690, Class GP40, in August 1985 and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3025.  It became GW 3025 in January 1990 and sold to Wilson in September 1990.  It was sold as WCLtd as 3025 in December 1990 and retired on February 15, 2008.  It was sold to Rail & Motor International Ltd as RIMX 3025 in 2008 and sold to Montana Rail Link as 3025 in July 2009.  It was outshopped as 500 in September 2014.

3544, Class RS-68, was built in September 1971, #37855, FN 7332-18.  It was assigned as UP 691, Class GP40, and retired on September 30, 1986.  It was returned to Helm and in April 1987 it became CM&W 3010.  It became GW 3010 in January 1990.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in 1990 and rebuilt on November 30, 1990 as SSW 7276.  It was assigned as UP 5395, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1495 on October 29, 2003.
