Electro-Motive GP40 Diesels
600 was built in May 1966, #31767, FN 7885-1. It became Seaboard Coast Line 1515 in July 1967 and Seaboard System RR 1515 later in January 1983. It was renumbered 6672 in 1984 and later became CSX Transportation 6672, Class GP40, in April 1986. It was later sold to VMV Enterprises as 6672 and then rebuilt as Union Pacific 859.
608 was built in May 1966, #31775, FN 7885-9. In July 1967
it became SCL 1523 and SBD 1523 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6679 in
1984 and became CSX 6679, Class GP-40, in April 1976.
609 was built in May 1966, #31776, FN 7885-10. In July 1967 it became SCL 1524 and SBD 1524 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6680 in 1984 and became CSX 6680, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was renumbered 9727, Class MOW, and rebuilt as 9119, Class RCPHE4. It was rebuilt as 2374, Class Road Slug, in 2008.
618 was built in May 1966, #31787, FN 7885-1. It became SCL 1535 in July 1967 and became SBD 1535 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6689 in 1984 and became CSX 6689, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on April 16, 1991, as Southern Pacific 7113. It was assigned Union Pacific 5383 in 1997 and became UP 1483 in January 13, 2002.
619 was built in June 1966, #31788, FN 7897-4. It became SCL 1534 in July 1967 and became SBD 1534 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6690 in 1984 and became CSX 6690, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2, as St Louis South-Western 7289 on January 18, 1991. It was assigned UP 5424, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1524 on August 30, 2001.
621 was built in July 1966, #31790, FN 7897-6. In July 1967 it became SCL 1536 and later SBD 1536 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6692 in 1984 and then became CSX 6692, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was sold as VMV 6692 and rebuilt as United States Army 4631. It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co as 4631 and sold as Fort Worth & Western 2020 "Wyatt Earp" in December 2011.
626 was built in July 1966, #31795, FN 7897-11. In July 1967 it became SCL 1541 and later SBD 1541 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6697 in 1984 and then became CSX 6697, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt at Boise on February 26, 1997, as Union Pacific 2506, GP38-3, and renumbered 1000 on June 3, 2003. It was returned as Helm Leasing Corp HLCX 1000 on November 26, 1947.
635 was built in January 1967, #32618, FN 7944-6. In July 1967 it became SCL 1550 and later SBD 1550 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6705 in 1984 and then became CSX 6705, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt as 9731, Class MOW, and retired.
641 was built in January 1967, #32620, FN 7944-12. In
July 1967 it became SCL 1556 and later SBD 1556 in January 1983. It was later renumbered
6711 in 1984 and then became CSX 6711, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was sold as
Missouri &
North Arkansas 4211 and rebuilt as Chesapeake & Albemarle 3841, a GP38M.
644 was built in January 1967, #32623, FN 7944-15. In July 1967 it became SCL 1559 and became SBD 1559 in January 1983. It was renumbered 6714 in 1984 and became CSX 6714, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was retired.
647 was built in February 1967, #32960, FN 7944-18. In
July 1967 it became SCL 1562 and later SBD 1562 in January 1983. It was later renumbered
6717 in 1984 and then became CSX 6717, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was sold as M&NA 4217 and rebuilt as
CA 3842, a GP38M.
650 was built in February 1967, #32963, FN 7944-12. In July 1967 it became SCL 1565 and later SBD 1565 in January 1983. It was later renumbered 6720 in 1984 and then became CSX 6720, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was sold as Helm Atlanta Leasing Co 803 and Webb Asset Management Co 4047.
