GEC Alstom

This company is a French company which had a plant in Canada rebuilding and leasing locomotives.  It was reorganized as Alstom in 1998.

 

3054, SD40-2, was built by General Motors in June 1972, #A2652, FN C349-20, as Canadian National 5608, Class DRF-30h.  It was rebuilt as GCFX 3054 and sold CIT Financial Corp as CEFX 3054.  It was sold as Norfolk Southern 3502, Class SD40-2, in July 2013.

3059, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1971, #7375-1, FN 7375-1, as Southern Ry 3186.  It was assigned as Norfolk Southern 3186, Class SD40, but sold to National Railway Equipment Co as NREX 3186.  It was rebuilt as GCFX 3059.  It became CEFX 3059 in 2008.

3062, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1971, #7324-25, FN 7324-25, as Union Pacific 3107, Class SD40-2.  It was retired on October 26, 1988, and sold to Precision National Corp as PNL 3107 on November 30, 1988.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Corp as NREX 3107 in 1997.  It was sold to GEC and rebuilt as GSFX 3062 on September 1, 2000.  It was sold to CIT Financial as CITX 3062 and sold as Lake State Ry 6301 in December 2013.

3063, SD402, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1966, #31268, FN 7846-6, as Chicago & North Western 872. It was retired on November 26, 1991, and sold as NREX 872.  It was rebuilt as GCFX 3063 in 1999 and sold as CITX 3063.

3064, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1966, #31265, FN 7846-3, as C&NW 869. It was retired on November 26, 1991, and sold as NREX 869. It was later rebuilt as Alsthom 3064.

3067, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1966, #31278, FN 7874-2, as C&NW 882.  It was retired on November 26, 1991, and sold as NREX 882.  It was later rebuilt as Alsthom 3067.

3070, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1971, #37429, FN 5781-4, as  Soo Line 753, SD40.  It was retired on August 30, 1999, and sold as NREX 753 in 1999.  It was rebuilt at Alstom Canada and became GCFX 3070 on September 8, 2000.  It was sold as CITX 3070 and sold as Wheeling & Lake Erie 6993 in February 2016.

3071, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1970, #35497, FN 7230-3, as Kansas City Southern 624. It was sold to Soo Line as 624 in July 1986 and then renumbered 6402. It was retired and sold to Helm and rebuilt as GEC-Alsthom 3071.

3076, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1971, #37425, FN 5781-2, as Soo Line 751, SD40.  It became Canadian Pacific 751 and sold to Alstom and rebuilt GCFX 3076.  It became CIT-Financial Group CITX 3076 in 2008 and sold to Residco as OFOX 3076 in 2014.

3077, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1971, #37431, FN 5781-7, as Soo Line 756.  It was sold to Alsthom in 2000 and rebuilt as GCFX 3077.  It became CEFX 3077 in 2008.

3079, SD40u, was built by General Motors in September 1966, #A2143,  FN C314-11, as Canadian Pacific 5510, Class DRF-30a.  It was rebuilt by Alsthom in 2000 as GCFX 3079 and resold as CEFX 3079 in 2008.

3084, SD40u, was built by General Motors in December 1966, #A2160, FN C314-28, as CP 5527, Class DRF-30a.  It was sold to East Coast Motive Power in 1999 and rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as GCFX 3084.  It was resold as CEFX 3084 in 2008.

3085, SD40u, was built by General Motors in September 1966, #A2151, FN C314-19, as CP 5518, Class DRF-30a.  It was sold to East Coast Motive Power in 1999 and rebuilt by Alsthom in 2000 as GCFX 3085.

3086, SD40u, was built by General Motors in September 1966, #A2144, FN C314-12, as CP 5511, Class DRS-30a.  It was sold to East Coast Motive Power in 1999 and rebuilt by Alsthom in 2000 as GCFX 3086 and resold as CEFX 3086 in 2008.

3089, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1970, #36918, FN 7290-23, as Penn Central 6262, Class EF-30A.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 6262, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing Co 0609. It was sold as HLCX 5023 and leased as Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana 1520. It was returned as HLCX 5023 and rebuilt as GCFX 3089, SD40-2.  It was sold as Great Lakes Central  382 in 2018.

3092, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive  in April 1966, #32042, FN 7909-4, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 1706, Class 1700.  It was renumbered 5006, Class 5000, in April 1970 and was rebuilt at San Bernardino in November 1981.  It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 6306, Class SD-40, on September 13, 1998.  It was sold as GCFX 3092 in 2001 and sold to CIT-Financial Group as CEFX 3092 in 2008.

3093, SDP40, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1966, #31595, FN 7870-4, as Great Northern 323, Class SDP-40.  It became Burlington Northern 9853, Class SDP-40, in 1970 and renumbered 6397, Class SD-40, on April 15, 1974.  It was renumbered 1976 in May 13, 1975, and renumbered 6397 on January 14, 1978.  It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 6325, Class SDP-40, in August 1998 and sold to GEC-Alsthom in November 2000.  It was rebuilt as GCFX 3093 in  2001 and sold as CEFX 3093 in 2008.  It was sold as Gardendale RR 9043 in August 2012.

3094, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1970, #35498, FN 7203-4, as Kansas City Southern 625.  It was sold to Soo Line as 625 in July 1986 and then renumbered 6403.  It later became Canadian Pacific 6303.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as GCFX 3094 on October 18, 2000, and sold as CITX 3094.  It was sold to Motive Power Resources in December 2013 and sold to Watco as WAMX 4200 in April 2014.

3095, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1970, #35495, FN 7203-1, as KCS 622. It was sold to Soo Line as 622 in August 1986 and then renumbered 6400. It later became CP 6400. It was rebuilt by Alsthom in 2000 as GCFX 3095.

3096, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1966, #31551, FN 7361-61, as Southern Pacific 8470, Class EF630-1, SD40.  It was rebuilt at Sacramento as 7342, Class EF630R-1, on December 17, 1980, and retired on July 17, 1997.  It was sold to Boise Locomotive on April 17, 1999, and rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as SD40-2.  It became GCFX 3096 and sold as CEFX 3096 in 2008.

3098, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1966, #31558, FN 7361-68, as SP 8477, Class EF6301-1, SD40.  It was rebuilt as SP 7330, Class EF630R-1. in October 1980 and retired in April 1999.  It was sold to Boise Locomotive and rebuilt as GCFX 3098.

3101,  SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1966, #31520, FN 7861-30, as SP 8439, Class EF630-1.  It was rebuilt as 7381, Class EF630R-1, in July 1981 and rebuilt to GEC- Alstom as GCFX 3101.  It was sold as CEFX 3101 and sold to WATCo as WAMX 4226 in November 2017.

3102, SD40u, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1966, #31536, FN 7861-46, as SP 8455, Class EF630-1,  SD40.  It was rebuilt as 7369, Class EF630R-1, in May 1981, and retired on April 30, 1999.  It was sold to Boise Locomotive on September 30, 1999.  It was sold and rebuilt as GCFX 3102 in 2000.  It was sold as CEFX 3102.  It was sold as FWWR 2023 "Hood County" in September 2013.

6030, SD40u, was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2517, FN C338-25, as Canadian National 5200, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on May 29, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6030.  It was renumbered 6900 on January 2, 2004, and leased as Wisconsin Central Ltd 6900.  It was sold as Western Labrador Rail Services 6900 and transferred as Quebec-Gatineau Ry 3325 in February 2011.

6031, SD40u, was built by General Motors in April 1971, #A2493, FN C338-1, as CN 5176, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on June 21, 1997, and rebuilt as GCFX 6031, SD40-3.  It was rebuilt and leased as WCLtd 6901 in March 2004.  It was sold as Last Mountain Ry 6901 in July 2001.

6034, SD40u, was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2519, FN C338-27, as CN 5202, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on August 6, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6034.  It was leased as WCLtd 6904 in 2004 and sold as QGRy 6904.

6035, SD40u, was built by General Motors in May 1970, #A2415, FN C333-28, as CN 5156, Class GF-30b.  It was retired on August 8, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6035,  It was sold as Q-G 3326 in 2011.

6036, SD40u, was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2374, FN C330-28, as CN 5115, Class GF-30e.  It was retired on August 27, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6036.  It was renumbered 6906 and leased to WCLtd 6906 in 2004.  It was sold as WLRS 6906 and transferred as Q-G 3327 in 2011.

6038, SD40u, was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2515, FN C338-23, as CN 5198, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on September 4, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6038.  It was leased as WCLtd 6908 in 2004 and sold as QGRy 6908.

6042, SD40u, was built by General Motors in July 1971, #A2508, FN C338-16, as CN 5189, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on September 4, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6042.  It was sold as QGRy 6042 and transferred as Buffalo & Pittsburgh 3330.

6043, SD40u, was built by General Motors in May 1970, #A2394, FN C325-10, as CN 5135, Class GF-30h.  It was retired on September 11, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6043.  It was leased as WCLtd 6913 in 2004 and sold as QCRy 6913.

6046, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in May 1971, #A2511, FN C338-19, as CN 5194, Class GF-30k, SD40.  It was retired on September 17, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF as GEC-Alstom GCFX 6046 on November 29, 1997.  It was leased as WCLtd 6916 on May 25, 2005, and retired on April 1, 2008.  It was returned as sold to Motive Power Resources and sold as BPRR 3342 in February 2012.

6047, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in October 1971, #A2536, FN C338-44, as CN 5219, Class GF-30k, SD40.  It was retired on September 24, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF, SD40-3, as GCFX 6047 in 1997.  It was sold as WCLtd 6917 in 2004.

6049, SD40-3, was built by General Motors  in June 1969, A2357, FN C330-11, as CN 5098, Class GF-30e.  It was retired on October 7, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF on December 13, 1997 as GCFX 6049.  It was leased as WCLtd 6919 in 2004 and retired on April 1, 2008.  It was sold as Aberdeen Carolina & Western 6919.

6050, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2507, FN C338-15, as CN 5190, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on October 7, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6050.  It was leased as WCLtd 6920 in 2004 and sold as QCRy 6920.

6053, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in August 1971, #A2509, FN C338-17, as CN 5192, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on Octo0ber 20, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6053, Class GF-630d, in 1997.  It was wrecked and rebuilt as 1999.  It was sold as WCLtd 6923 in 2004.

6056, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in December 1971, #A2600, FN C345-14, as CN 5238, Class GF-30m.  It was retired on November 11, 1997, and was rebuilt by Alsthom as GCFX 6056 in 1997.  It was sold as WCLtd 6926 in 2005 and sold as AC&W 6926 in 2009.

6057, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2510, FN C338-15, as CN 5193, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on November 11, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6057.  It was sold as QGRy 6057 and renumbered 3334 in June 2012.

6062, SD40-3, was built by General Motors in April 1969, #A2345, FN C329-3, as CN 5086, Class GF-30e.  It was retired on November 21, 1947, and rebuilt by AMF in 1997 as GCFX 6062.  It was sold as QGRy 6062 and transferred as BP 3332.

6064, SD40u, was built by General Motors in May 1969, #A2371, FN C330-25, as CN 5112, Class GF-30e.  It was retired on November 25, 1997, and rebuilt by GEC-Alstom as GCFX 6064, SD40-3.  It was rebuilt and leased as WCLtd 6934 in March 2004.  It was sold as Mobil Grain Ltd 6934 in July 2011.

6065, SD40u, was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2516, FN C338-21, as CN 5199, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on November 25, 1997, and rebuilt by GEC-Alstom as GCFX 6065, SD40-3.  It was rebuilt and leased as WCLtd 6935 in March 2004.  It was sold as MGLX 6935 in July 2001.

6067, SD40u, was built by General Motors in January 1971, #A2417, FN C333-33, as CN 5158, Class GF-30h.  It was retired on October 22, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1998 as GCFX 6067. SD40-3.  It was sold as Texas Gonzales & Northern 131.

6068, SD40u, was built by General Motors in January 1970, #A2405, C333-21, FN , as CN 5146, Class GF-30h.  It was retired on October 22, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1998 as GCFX 6068, SD40-3.  It was sold as QGRy 6068 and transferred as BP 3331.

6076, SD40u, was built by General Motors in May 1970, #A2407, FN C333-23, as CN 5148, Class GF-30h.  It was retired on December 12, 1997, and rebuilt by AMF in 1998 as GCFX 6076, SD40-3.  It was sold as QGRy 6076 and transferred as BP 3333.

6078, SD40u, was built by General Motors in 1971, #A2496, FN C338-4, as CN 5179, Class GF-30k.  It was retired on December 18, 1997, and rebuilt by Alsthom as GCFX 6078, SD40-3.  It was leased as WCLtd 6943 and leased as Texas Gonzales & Northern Ry 129.  It was transferred as Texas Rock Crusher RR 129.
