Electro-Motive SD40 Diesels

6242, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36898, FN 7290-3, as Penn Central 6242, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6242, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing Co 801 in 1994.

6247, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36903, FN 7290-8,  as PC 6247, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6247, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing 804.  It was retransferred as Conrail 804, Class SD-40, and sold to General Motors Corp as EMDX 6431.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as First Union Rail 3028

6248, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36904, FN 7290-9, as PC 6248, Class EF-30A.   It became Conrail 6248, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing Co 805.

6249, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36905, FN 7290-10, as PC 6249, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6249, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing Co 806.  It was sold as EMDX 6432 and rebuilt as Belt Ry of Chicago 570, SD38-3.

6252, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36908, FN 7290-13, as PC 6252, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6252, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and rebuilt in July 1993 as 6948,  Class SD40-2E.  It became Norfolk Southern PRR 3448, Class SD40-2, in 1999.

6260, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36916, FN 7290-21, as PC 6260, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6260, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing 811.  It was sold as Helm Leasing Corp HLCX 5029 and leased as Dakota Minnesota & Eastern 6064.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3009.

6261, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36917, FN 7290-22, as PC 6261, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6261, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing 812.  It was sold as HLCX 5030 and leased as DM&E 6065.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3023.

6262, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36918, FN 7290-23, as PC 6262, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6262, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing 0609. It was sold as HLCX 5023 and leased as Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana 1520. It was returned as HLCX 5023 and rebuilt to GEC-Alstom Canada as GCFX 3089, SD40-2.  It was sold as Great Lakes Central  382 in 2018.

6264, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36920, FN 7290-25, as PC 6264, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6264, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing 814.  It was sold as HLCX 5031 and leased as DM&E 6066.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3018.

6270, Class SD-40, was built in January 1971, #36926, FN 7290-31, as PC 6270, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6270, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6427.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3045.

6272, Class SD-40, was built in January 1971, #36998, FN 7290-33, as PC 6272, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6272, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6400.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3026.

6273, Class SD-40, was built in December 1970, #36999, FN 7290-34, as PC 6273, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6273, Class SD-40. on April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6409.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3034.

6283, Class SD-40, was built in January 1971, #37009, FN 7290-44, as PC 6283, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6283, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6413.  It was sold as Northwestern Pacific Ry 6413 in 2006 and sold as California Northern RR 4098 in 2006.  It was sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

6286, Class SD-40, was built May 1967, #33162, FN 7998-3, as Baltimore & Ohio 7483, Class SD-40.  It was transferred as Central RR of New Jersey 3063, Class SD-40 on December 14, 1967, and became Conrail 6286, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was retired on September 20, 1995, and sold to Helm Leasing Co.  It was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises in October 1996 as HLCX 6067. 

6287, Class SD-40, was built in May 1967, #33163, FN 7998-4, as B&O 7484, Class SD-40.  It was transferred as CNJ 3064, Class SD-40, on December 15, 1967, and became Conrail 6287, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was rebuilt at Juniata as 6996, Class SD40-2E, on November 15, 1993, and became Norfolk Southern PRR 3445, Class SD40-2, on April 20, 1999.

6294, Class SD-40, was built in February 1966, #31286, FN 7862-2, as Pennsylvania RR 6041, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6041, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6294, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was rebuilt as 6994, Class SD40-2E,  and sold as CSX Transportation 8883, Class SD40-2.

6295, Class SD-40, was built in February 1966, #31287, FN 7862-3, as PRR 6042, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6042, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6295, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as EMDX 6419 and renumbered 419.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3028, SD40-2.

6297, Class SD-40, was built in February 1966, #31289, FN 7862-5, as PRR 6044, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6044, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6297, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was rebuilt as 6973, Class SD40-2E,  and sold as CSX 8874, Class SD40-2.

6319, Class SD-40, was built in February 1966, #31311, FN 7892-26, as PRR 6066, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6066, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6319, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as GMC 6401 and rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3029.

6323, Class SD-40, was built in February 1966, #31315, FN 7862-31, as PRR 6070, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6070, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6323, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as EMDX 6415 and rebuilt by National Railway Equipment as Union Pacific 4769, Class SD40-2, on September 22, 1999.  It was renumbered 2819 on January 5, 2002, and retired on June 6, 2002.  It was sold to Locomotive Leasing Partners as LLPX 2819 in 2002.

6357, Class SD-40, was built in March 1966, #31349, FN 7862-65, as PRR 6104, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6104, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6357, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as GMC 6430 and rebuilt by VMV Enterprises as UP 4774, Class SD40-2, on November 18, 1999,  It was renumbered 2824 on February 7, 2002.  It was retired on June 6, 2002, and returned as LLPX 2824.
