Minnesota Transportation Museum
100, 67 Ton, was built by General Electric in July 1913, #3769, a gasoline motor car as Minneaolis St Paul Rochester & Dubuque Electric Co 100. It was sold as Central Warehouse Co 11 in 1917 and coverted as an electric locomotive. It was sold as Minneapolis Anoka & Ccuyuna Range 100 in 1922 and became NPCo 100 between 1943 and 1946. It was converted with a Waukesha diesel locomotive in 1957 and donated to MTM in 1967.
101, NW2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1958, #5287, FN E892-2, as Lake Superior Terminal & Transfer 101. It acquired by MTM.
105, SW1200, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1957, #23480, FN 4396-1, as LST&T 105. It was acquired by MTM and lettered as Northern Pacific 105.
325, SDP-40, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1966, #31597, FN 7870-6, as Great Northern 325, Class SDP-40. It became Burlington Northern 9855, Class SDP-40, in 1970 and renumbered 6399, Class SD-40, on April 15, 1974. It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 6327, Class SDP-40, in 1998 and retired in June 2008. It was donated to Minnesota Transportation Museum and lettered as BN 325 May 2009,
328, Class S-10, was built by Alco-Rogers in 1905, #37583, and built for Chicago Southern but could not pay. It was sold as Northern Pacific 328 in February 1907 and retired in 1950. It was donated to City of Stillwater, MN, in September 1955 leased as MTM in 1976.
454-A, F7A, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1950, #9544, FN 3017-A7, as Great Northern 454-A, Class F-3-7. It became Burlington Northern 668, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in March 1981. It was sold to Joseph Simon & Sons in March 1981 and sold to Bandanna Square Project. It was sold as MTM in 2003 and is in restoration as GN 454-A.
558, SD7, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1952, 16107, FN 5146-9, as Great Northern 558, Class SD-7. It became Burlington Northern 6008, Class SD-7. in 1970. It was retired in August 1983, and sold to Cargill Co CRGX 6008 in November 1983. It was donated to MTM in 2017 and the plan is to restore as GN 558
559, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1951, #15182, FN 5111-11, as Chicago Rock Island & Pacific 1223. It was rebuilt at Silvis on February 19, 1976, as 4505. It went to Precision National in April 1980 and was sold to Chicago & North Western in February 1981. It entered service on April 26, 1981, as 4159, and was retired December 12, 1988. It was sold to Fox River Valley RR as 4159 on January 12, 1989. It later became Wisconsin Central Ltd 4159. It was acquired by MTM as MNTX 559 in 1998. It was lettered as Soo Line RR 559 in 2008.
2153, Class Q-3, was built by Baldwin in March 1909, #33278, as Northern Pacific 2153, Class Q-3. It was donated to City of East Grand Forks, MN and resold as MTM in 2002. I has been plinthed.
2156, Class Q-3, was built by Baldwin in March 1909, #33281, as NP 2156, Class Q-3. It was donated to City of St Paul, MN. in September 1954 and resold as MTM in 1999. I has been under reconstruction,
3110, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1949, #7741, FN E1094-1, as Wabash RR 110, Class D-6. It became Norfolk & Western 3110 in 1965 and sold to Andersen Windowalls Inc as 3110 in January 1974. It was sold to MTM in 2000.
6234, SD9, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1959, #25159, FN 5589-9, as Colorado & Southern 839. It was renumbered 6234, Class SD-9, in August 1979 and became Burlington Northern 6234, Class SD-9, in January 1982. It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 6234, Class SD-9, and kept the same number for preservation. It was donated to MTM and became MNTX 6234 on December 12, 2003. It was restored as BN 6234.
7176, 35 Ton, was built by General Electric in October 1962, #34587, as Cargill Co. no number. It was assigned at Baton Rouge, LA, and transferred to Savage, MN. It was sold as Schreier Malting Co 7176 and the company was sold to Cargill in 1998. It was then sold to General Mills Co as 7176 and then donated to MTM in 2018
9735, motor car, was built by Pullman in December 1929, #6203, and Electro-Motive in February 1930, #343, as Chicago Burlington & Quincy 735. It was renumbered 9735 and sold as Southern Industrial Co 9735 in June 1969 It was sold to MTM in 1984.
10106, 45 Ton, was built by General Electric in August 1942, #15717, as United States Army 7251. It was transferred as United States Navy 10106 and sold as Northern States Power Co 5. It was acquited by MTM and lettered as MNTX 10106.
Minnesota Streetcar Museum
Mesaba Ry 10 was built by Niles Car in 1912 and retired in 1927. The body was acquired by MTM in 1977 and transferred as MSM in 2005.
27 was built by St Louis Car Co in June 1949, #1670, as Twin City Rapid Transit 416. It was sold to Public Service of New Jerseyas 27 on March 30, 1953, and became NJT 27 in 1971. It was sold to Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authorityas 27 in 1978 and sold to Minnesota Transportation Museum in 1990. It was stored and sold to Branford Electric Railway Association in 2001 for preservation as PSNJ 27.
Fargo & Moorehead Street Ry 28 was built by American Car Co in 1923, #1359. It was retired in 1937 and the body was acquired by the Minnesota Transportation Museum in 2003. Restoration is a long time plan.
Duluth Street Ry 78 was built by Laclede Car Co in 1893. It was retired in 1911 and the body was recovered by MTM in 1971 for restoration.
Duluth-Superior Transit Co 265, Class L-8, was built at Snelling Shops in December 1915, asTwin City Rapid Transit 1791, Class L-8. It was transferred to D-STCo as 265, Class L-8, in May 1916. It was rebuilt as one-man in September 1929 and the body was sold in September 1939 to Solon Spring, WI. It was acquired by MTM in April 1973. Restoration became in September 1980 and completed as DST 265 in July 1982.
Twin City Rapid Transit 1239 was built at 31st Street Shops in April 1907 as Class H-5. It was one-manned in 1935 and retired in August 1953. The body was sold to Transportation Sales Co for disposition It was acquired by MTM in December 1987. It was moved to Excelsior in November 1998. It began as restored in original form and service began on September 11, 2004.
TCRT 1300 was built at Snelling Shops in April 1908 as Class I-1. It was one-manned in 1931 and given to Minnesota Railfans Association in 1954. It became the MTM in 1962,
Wisconsin Ry Light & Power Co 10 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1914, #1012. It became Mississippi Valley Public Service Co in 1926. It was retired in 1938 and the body became a cabin near Winona. It was acquired by MTM in 1999 and transferred as MSM in 2005. It was restored and became operable in November 2016.
