Standard Cars
The TCRT standard cars were built in the 31st Street and Snelling Shops over a period of years. They were rebuilt and reconfigured from time to time. A number of the cars were equipped for interurban operation on the long suburban lines to Lake Minnetonka, Deephaven, Tonka Bay, Stillwater, and White Bear. Most of these lines were abandoned in 1932, but cars still ran to Mahtomedi until November 3, 1951. Here is a postcard view on the Lake Minnetonka line.
621 was built by American Car in 1892 and rebuilt in 1900 as Class A-3-b. It was sold as Charles City Western 52 in 1915 and was used in passenger service until 1920 when it was replaced by 53 and then used in work service. It was scrapped in 1957.
848 was built byTCRT at 31st Street Shop in April 1911 as Class B-3. It was sold to Winnipeg Electric Co as 828 in August 1920 and retired in 1950.
869 was built by TCRT at 31st Street Shop in May 1909. It was rebuilt as Duluth-Superior Traction Co 256 double end for use on the Highland line in December 1912 and retired in 1939.
1092 was built at 31st Street Shops in July 1904 as Class E-4, as a double deck car. It was converted to single deck on December 13, 1908. It was burned in 1934 after being out of service for about 5 years.
1136 was built at 31st Street Shops in June 1906 as Class G-6. It was retired in 1936 for use as an office at the Fairgrounds. It was scrapped in 1952.
1162 was built at 31st Street Shops in July 1906 as Class G-6, It was burned in 1938.
1174 was built at 31st Street Shops in July 1906 as Class G-6. It was one-manned in March, 1937. The body was sold in 1953.
1186 was built at 31st Street Shops in August 1906 as Class G-6. It was one-manned in November, 1936. The body was sold in 1954.
1194 was built at 31st Street Shops in August 1906 as Class G-6 It was one-manned in November 1936 and burned in 1953.
1200 was built at 31st Street Shops in October 1906 as Class G-6. It was one-manned in November 1936 and burned in 1953.
1208 was built at 31st Street Shops in November 1906 as Class G-6. It was one-manned in November 1936 and sold as a body in 1953.

1230 was built at 31st Street Shops in March 1907 as Class H-6. It was rebuilt in September 1931 as double ended and burned in 1952.
1233 was built at 31st Street Shops in March 1907 as Class H-5. It was one-manned in 1935 and burned in 1954.
1239 was built at 31st Street Shops in April 1907 as Class H-5. It was one-manned in 1935 and retired in August 1953. The body was sold to Transportation Sales Co for disposition It was acquired by Minnesota Transportation Museum in December 1987. It was moved to Excelsior in November 1998. It began as restored in original form and service began on September 11, 2004.
1267 was built at Snelling Shops in September 1907, as Class H-6. It was rebuilt as Class I-8 in 1928 It was given to Seashore Electric Ry in 1953.
1269 was built at Snelling Shops in September 1907 as Class H-4, It was rebuilt as Class I-8 in 1928 and burned in 1954.
1278 was built at Snelling Shops in October 1907 as Class H-6. It was rebuilt as Class I-8 in 1928 and burned in 1952.
1300 was built at Snelling Shops in April 1908 as Class I-1. It was one-manned in 1931 and given to Minnesota Railfans Association in 1954. It became the MTM in 1962,
1321 was built at Snelling Shops in December 1908 as Class J-2. It was one-manned in 1931 and burned in 1954.
1324 was built at Snelling Shops in December 1908 as Class J-2/ It was one-manned in 1931 and burned in 1954.
1527 was built at Snelling Shops in July 1912 as Class L-8, It was rebuilt in 1921 and one-manned in 1934/ It was burned in 1953.
1583 was built at Snelling Shops in May 1913 as Class L-8. It was rebuilt in 1921, one-manned in 1928, and rebuilt in 1948. In 1954 it was retired and sold for use as a cottage in northwest Wisconsin. In 1981 it was acquired and rebuilding began by Paul Averdung as Duluth-Superior Transit 253 which was an almost identical car. It now operates on the East Troy Electric Ry.
1635 was built at Snelling Shops in October 1913 as Class L-8. It was rebuilt in 1921 and one-manned in 1934. It was burned in 1953.
1719 was built at Snelling Shops in November 1914 as Class L-8.. It was transferred to Duluth-Superior Traction Co as 268, Class L-8, in July 1916. It was rebuilt as a one man car in 1930. It was sold as a complete car to Duluth Missabe & Iron Range W59 in June 1939 and was rebuilt as a diesel electric motor car for crew transfer.
1775 was built at Snelling Shops in February 1915 as Class L-8. It was rebuilt in 1921 and one-manned in 1933. It was burned in 1954.
1778 was built at Snelling Shops in November 1915 as Class L-8. It was rebuilt in 1921 and one-manned in 1932. The body was sold in 1954.
1786 was built at Snelling Shops in December 1915 as Class L-8. It was rebuilt in 1921 and one-manned in 1932. It was burned in 1954.
1791 was built at Snelling Shops in December 1915 as Class L-8. It was transferred to D-STCo as 265, Class L-8, in May 1916. It was rebuilt as one-man in September 1929 and the body was sold in September 1939 to Solon Spring, WI. It was acquired by MTM in April 1973. Restoration became in September 1980 and completed as DST 265 in July 1982.
1792 was built at Snelling Shops in December 1915 as Class L-8. It was transferred to D-STCo as 266, Class L-8, in May 1916. It was rebuilt as one-man in 1930 and the body was sold in 1939.
1811 was built at Snelling Shops in January 1917 as Class L-8. It was rebuilt in 1921 and one-manned in 1932. The body was sold in 1953.
1832 was built at Snelling Shops in February 1917 as Class L-8. It was rebuilt in 1921 and one-manned in 1932. The body was sold in 1953.

1855 was built at Snelling Shops on June 28, 1917, as Class L-8. It was sold as Minneapolis Anoka & Cuyuna Range 8 on November 20, 1917, and rebuilt and renumbered 3 in 1943. It was scrapped on May 14, 1952.
