Electro-Motive F Unit Diesels

BN-1, F9Au, Class F-9, was built in February 1954, #19056, FN 3175-A1, as Northern Pacific 6700A. It became BN 9800, Class P-9, in 1970, and later became 766, Class F-9. It was rebuilt in November 1981 as 972567, Rotary Snow Power Unit, and again rebuilt in September 1990 as BN-1, Class F9-2A, completed on October 3, 1990.  It was donated to Illinois Railway Museum in 1997.

BN-2, F9Bu, Class F-9, was built in August 1954, #19749, FN 3179-B2, as NP 7002C.  It became BN 809, Class F-9, in 1970 and retired in November 1982.  It was rebuilt as 972574, rotary power car, and rebuilt at West Burlington in October 1990 as BN-2, Class F9B-2.  It was donated to Illinois Railway Museum in 1997.

602, F7A, Class F-7, was built in April 1952, #16097, FN 3129-A2, as Great Northern 271-B, Class F-3-7-A.  It became BN 602, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Precision National Corp in December 1980.

604, F7A, Class F-7, was built in October 1950, #11063, FN 3042-A1, as GN 273-A, Class F-3-7-A.  It became BN 604, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Precision National Corp on November 23, 1971

606, F7A, Class F-7, was built in October 1950, #11064, FN 3042-A2, as GN 273-B, Class F-3-7-A.  It became BN 606, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Precision National Corp on February 12, 1971.

610, F7A, Class F-7, was built in October 1960, #11066, FN 3042-A4, as GN 274-B, Class F-3-7-A. In 1970 it became BN 610, Class F-7, and in December 1980 it became Seattle & North Coast 101.  It was sold as Daylight Locomotive Works 274 in 1994.

612, F3A, Class F-3, was built in December 1947, #4679, FN E819-A7, as GN 356-A.  It was converted as 275-A, Class F-3-7-A, on June 17, 1969, and became BN 612, Class F-7, in 1970.  It was traded in to Electro-Motive on April 12, 1972.

656, F7A, Class F-7, was built in April 1952, #16083, FN 3127-A13, as GN 317-A, Class F-3-7-A.  In 1970 it became BN 656, Class F-7, and sold to Naporano Iron & Metal on June 25, 1974.

668, F7A, Class F-7, was built in March 1950, #9544, FN 3017-A7, as GN 454-A.  It became BN 668, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in March 1981.  It was sold to Joseph Simon & Sons in March 1981 and sold to Bandanna Square Project.  It was sold as Minnesota Transportation Museum in 2003 and is in restoration as GN 454-A.

684, F7A, Class F-7, was built in January 1953, #17852, FN 3151-A2, as GN 464-A, Class F-3-7-A.  In 1970 it became BN 684, Class F-7, and sold as S&LC 102 in December 1980. It was sold as Iowa Northern 102 in 1984 and later was sold as The Grand Traverse Train 1950 in 1996.  It was sold to Central States Rail Associates Inc as CESX 1950 in February 2011.

690, F7A, Class F-7, was built in February 1953, #17857, FN 6487-A1, as GN 466-D, Class F-3-7-A. In 1970 it became BN 690, Class F-7, and was sold to Naporano Iron & Metal in October 1971.

698, F7A, Class F-7, was built in April 1949, #10081, FN E1314A-1, as General Motors Corp as 801.  It was sold as GN 272-A, Class F-3-7-A, and renumbered 474-A, Class F-3-7-A, in 1954.  It became BN 698, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Precision National Corp on November 23, 1971.

700, F7A, Class F-7, was built in April 1949, #10082, FN E1314A-2, as GMC as 802.  It was sold as GN 272-B, Class F-3-7-A, and renumbered 474-D, Class F-3-7-A, in 1954.  It became BN 700, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Naparano Iron & Metal Co in September 1971.

701 F3B, Class F-3, was built in January 1947, #3874, FN E732-B3, as NP 6011B.  It was renumbered 6000B in December 1949 and became BN 701, Class F-3, in 1970.  It was retired in 1972 and rebuilt as Remote Control Unit 109.

703, F3B, Class F-3, was built in January 1947, #3877, FN E759-B6, as NP 6001C. It became BN 703, Class F-3, in 1970 and was retired in September 1974.

(704), F3A, Class F-3, was built in January 1947, #3781, FN E759-A3, as NP 6012A. It was renumbered 6001A in December 1949 and assigned BN 704, Class F-3, but retired in April 1970 before it was renumbered. 

711, F3B, Class F-7, was built in January 1947, #3793, FN E722-B7, as NP 6503B.  It was renumbered 6016C in 1948 and renumbered 6005C in December 1949.  It became BN 711, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Precision National Corp on November 23, 1971.

716, F7A, Class F-7, was built in January 1953, #17916, FN 6123-A2, as Spokane Portland & Seattle 804. It became BN 9756, Class P-7, in 1970. It was later renumbered 972553L and back to 9756.  It was then renumbered 716 and retired in February 1981.  It was sold to Cadillac & Lake City as 716 in 1981 and later sold to Colorado & Eastern RR as 716 in 1984. It was later sold to Minnesota Zephyr Limited as 787 in 1985.

732, F7A, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14254, FN 3092-A3, as NP 6014A.  It became BN 732, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold as Cadillac & Lake City 732 in February 1982.  It was sold as Colorado & Eastern 732 and sold for scrap to Pielet Brothers in January 1991.

733, F7B, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14266, FN 3092-B3, as NP 6014B.  It became BN 733, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in November 1981.  It was sold to Chrome Crankshaft Co in December 1981 and rebuilt as Ontario Northland Ry  205, an Electric Generator Unit .

734, F7A, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14255, FN 3092-A4, as NP 6014D.  It became BN 734, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in May 1973.

736, F7A, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14256, FN 3092-A5, as NP 6015A.  It became BN 736, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in August 1971.

737, F7B, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14268, FN 3092-B5, as NP 6015B.  It became BN 737, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Chrome Crankshaft in March 1981.

738, F7A, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14257, FN 3092-A6, as NP 6015D.  It became BN 738, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in April 1981.

740, F7A, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14258, FN 3092-A7, as NP 6016A.  It became BN 740, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in June 1974.

743, F7B, Class F-7, was built in June 1951, #14271, FN 3092-B8, as NP 6016C.  It became BN 743, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in March 1973.

745, F7B, Class F-7,was built in June 1951, #14272, FN 3092-B9, as NP 6017B.  It became BN 745, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in November 1971.

746, F7A, Class F-7, was built in June 1951, #14261, FN 3092-A10, as NP 6017D.  It became BN 746, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in November 1973.

747, F7B, Class F-7, was built in June 1951, #14273, FN 3092-B10, as NP 6017C.  It became BN 747, Class F-7, in 1970 and sold to Precision National Corp in November 1970.

749, F7B, Class F-7, was built in June 1951, #14274, FN 3092-B11, as NP 6018B.  It became BN 749, Class F-7, in 1970 and rebuilt in April 1972 as Remote Control Unit 107. 

750, F7A, Class F-7, was built in May 1951, #14263, FN 3092-A12, as NP 6018D.  It became BN 750, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in March 1973.

751, F7B, Class F-7, was built in June 1975, #14275, FN 3092-B12, as NP 6018C.  It became BN 751, Class F-7, in 1970 and retired in December 1981.

776, F9A, Class F-9, was built in February 1955, #20325, FN 3181-A2, as NP 7007D.  It was renumbered 6702C on April 1, 1964, and became BN 9810, Class P-9, in 1970.  It was renumbered 776, Class F-9, in July 1973 and traded in to General Electric in August 1982.

784, F9A, Class F-9, was built in March 1956, #21107, FN 3189-A4, as NP 7011D.  It was renumbered 6704C on April 11, 1966, and became BN 9818, Class P-9, in 1970.  It was renumbered 784, Class F-9, in July 1973 and rebuilt as Rotary Snow Power Unit 927570 in December 1981.  It became BNSF 927570.

786, F9A, Class F-9, was built in March 1956, #21110, FN 3189-A7 as NP 7013A.  It was renumbered 6705A on June 9, 1966, and became BN 9820, Class P-9, in 1970.  It was renumbered 786, Class F-9, in July 1973 and sold to Chrome Crankshaft Co on March 1, 1981.

805, F9B, Class F-9, was built in January 1954, #19054, FN 3175-B1, as NP 7001B.  It became BN 805, Class F-9, in 1970 and retired in August 1982.

812, F9A, Class F-9, was built in September 1954, #19740, FN 3179-A3, as NP 7003A.  It became BN 812, Class F-9, in 1970 and rebuilt as RSPU 927571 in December 1981.  It became BNSF 927571.

814, F9A, Class F-9,was built in September 1954, #19741, FN  3179-A4, as NP 7003D.  It became BN 814, Class F-9, in 1970 and donated to Oklahoma Railway Museum in July 1982.  It was painted as St Louis-San Francisco 814.

845, F9B, Class F-9, was built in February 1954, #19334, FN 3170-B1, as GN 470B, Class F-9B.  It became BN 845, Class F-9 in 1970 and retired on July 26, 1982.  It was traded in to General Electric on August 3, 1982.

9726, F7A, Class P-7, was built in October 1950, #11073, FN 3044-A3, as GN 364-A, Class P-3-7-A.  It became BN 9726, Class P-7, in 1970 and renumbered 704, Class F-7, on May 7, 1976.  It later became S&NC as 103 in December 1980 and later IANR 103 in 1984.  It was sold as TGTT 1951 in 1996 and sold as CESX 1951 in February 2011.

9732, F3A, Class P-3-7-A, was built in October 1947, #4334, FN E800-A1, as GN 260-A, Class P-3-7-A.  It was renumbered 366-A and became BN 9732, Class P-3, in 1970.

9736, F7A, Class P-7, was built in June 1950, #9564, FN 3619-A2, as GN 269-A, Class P-3-7-A.  In 1960 it was renumbered 367-C and became BN 9736, Class P-7.  It was sold to Precision National Corp on August 19, 1974.

9762, F3A, Class P-3, was built in January 1947, #3775, FN E722-A3, as NP 6502A.  It became BN 9762, Class P-3, in 1970 and sold for scrap to Naporano Iron & Metal on November 29, 1973.

9776, F7A, Class P-7, was built in September 1949, #8732, FN E1214-A2, as NP 6509A.  It became BN 9776, Class P-7, in 1970 and sold as Amtrak 102 in 1972.
