6600-6699

 

6601, Class GP-40, was built in September 1971, #38506, FN 7340-52, as Baltimore & Ohio 4026, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered from August 13, 1979, and January 1980.  It was renumbered 6601 in 1986 and became CSX 6601, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt as 2367, Class Road Slug, in August 2008.

6606, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38511, FN 7340-57, as B&O 4031, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered from mid-February 1981 until April 19, 1981, as temporary 9031.  It became 6606 in 1986 and became CSX 6606, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was sold to Helm Leasing on March 18, 1991, and shipped to Metro East Industries by February 1994.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen and rebuilt by Boise Locomotive on February 27, 1998, as Texas-Mexican Ry 1163, GP40-3.  It was returned as First Union Rail 1163 and sold as Herzog Contracting Corp 202.

6607, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38512, FN 7340-58, as B&O 4032, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9032 in 1979 and returned as 4032 in January 1980.  It was renumbered 9032 on February 1981 and returned 4032 on April 30, 1981.  It was renumbered 6607 in 1986 and became CSX 6607, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired on February 21, 1991, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on February 17, 1993, as New Jersey Transit 4145, a GP40PH-2.

6608, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38513, FN 7340-59, as B&O 4033, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9033 in 1979 until January 1980 and part of March 1980.  And then it was from October 23, 1980, to November 18, 1980, and from mid February 1981 until April 30, 1981.  It was renumbered 6608 in 1986 and became CSX 6608, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired in February 2001 and rebuilt as GP38AC-1 for Wisconsin & Southern 3802 in May 2002.  It became Webb Asset Management as WAMX 3861.

6609, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38514, FN 7350-60, as B&O 4034, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6606 in 1986 and became CSX 6606, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt as 9704, Class MOW, on July 31, 1995, and sold to Locomotive Leasing Partners as LLPX 3109 on May 31, 2000.  It went to General American Transportation Co as GMTX 2684 in 2007.

6611, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38516, FN 7340-62, as B&O 4036, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6611 in 1986 and became CSX 6611, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt as 2364, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6612, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38517, FN 7340-63, as B&O 4037, Class GP-40. It was renumbered 9037 between 1979 and 1980 and renumbered in 1986.  It was renumbered 6612 in 1986 and became CSX 6612, Class GP-40, in 1987. It was retired on August 6, 1991, and sold on Wisconsin Central Ltd as 3001 on May 31, 1994. It was immediately renumbered 3021.

6614, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38519, FN 7340-65, as B&O 4039, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9039 in September 1979 and returned to 4039 in January 1980.  It was renumbered 6611 in 1986,  It became CSX 6614, Class GP-40, in 1987 and retired November 30, 1995.  It was rebuilt by Boise on June 18, 1997, as GP38-3 Union Pacific 2516 and renumbered 1016 on November 19, 2002.

6619, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38524, FN 7340-70, as B&O 4044, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6619 in 1986.  It became CSX 6619, Class GP-40, in 1987 but it took time to reletter it.  It was rebuilt as 9702, Class MOW, on July 30, 1995, and sold as Wiregrass Central RR 9702.

6620, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38525, FN 7340-71, as B&O 4045, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9045 from August 13, 1979, until January 1980.  It became CSX 6620, Class GP-40, in 1987 and retired on May 9, 1997.  It was sold to Helm Atlantic Leasing as HATX 425 in 1997 and sold to Progress Rail Services as PRLX 425.  It was sold as Belt Ry of Chicago 230 in October 2012 and rebuilt as GP23-ECO by Progress at Tacoma in October 2013, #20117662-1.

6621, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38526, FN 7340-72, as B&O 4046, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6621 in 1987 and became CSX 6621, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired in April 2000 and sold to National Railway Equipment Co in January 2001.  It was rebuilt as Utah Ry 3000 In August 2001.

6624, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38529, FN 7340-75, as B&O 4049, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered as 9049 from August 13, 1979, and mid 1980.  It was renumbered 6624 in 1986 and became CSX 6624, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired on January 16, 1991, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen  on June 4, 1991, as SP 7118.  It was assigned UP 5388 and became UP 1488, Class GP40M-2, on December 1, 2004.

6626, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38531, FN 7340-77, as B&O 4051, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6626 in 1986 and became CSX 6626, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt by National Railway Equipment as GP38M-3 as WSOR 3801 in 2002 and became WAMX 3860.

6628, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38533, FN 7340-79, as B&O 4053, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9053 from February 1981 until April 30, 1981.  It was renumbered 6628 in 1986.  It became CSX 6628, Class GP-40, in 1987 and retired on May 9, 1997.  It was sold as HATX 430 in 1997 and sold as PRLX 430.  It was sold as BRC 231 in October 2012.

6632, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38537, FN 7356-3, as B&O 4057, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9057 in March 1980 and returned as 4057 the same month.  It was renumbered 6632 in 1986 and became CSX 6632, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It became 9724, Class MOW, on February 8, 1996, and rebuilt as 2365, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6634, Class GP-40, was built in October 1971, #38539, FN 7365-5, as B&O 4059, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9059 in March 1980 and in March and April 1981.  It was renumbered 6634 in 1986.  It became CSX 6634, Class GP-40, in 1987 and renumbered 9718, Class MOW, on December 16, 1995.  It was rebuilt as 2372, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6637, Class GP-40, was built in November 1971, #38542, FN 7365-8, as B&O 4062, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9062 during March 1980 and renumbered 6637 in 1986.  It became CSX 6637, Class GP-40, in 1987 and retired on March 3, 1993.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen rebuilt at Boise as Maryland Area Regional Commuter 66, GP40WH-2, on December 19, 1994.  It was sold as Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority 66 in 2011 and resold to Motive Power Industries.  It was rebuilt as SunRail 110, MP32PH-Q in November 2017.

6639, Class GP-40, was built in November 1971, #38544, FN 7365-10, as B&O 4064, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9064 during March 1980 and renumbered 6639 in 1986.  It became CSX 6639, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was retired in January 2002 and rebuilt as 2353, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6642, Class GP-40, was built in June 1971, #38547, FN 7340-3, as Chesapeake & Ohio 4067, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6642 in 1986 and became CSX 6642, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt at Boise in April 1998 as Texas-Mexican RR 1176.  It was returned as First Union Rail as FURX  1176 and sold as Herzog Contracting Corp 207 in 2011.

6646, Class GP-40, was built in May 1967, #33099, FN 7990-3, as Atlanta & West Point 726.  It became Seaboard System 726 in January 1983 and renumbered 6646 in 1984.  It became CSX as 6646, Class GP-40 in April 1986.

6647, Class GP-40, was built in July 1968, #33882, FN 7093-2, as A&WP 727.  It became SBD 727 in January 1983 and renumbered 6647 in 1984.  It became CSX as 6647, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was sold to Progress Rail.

6649, Class GP-40, was built in February 1969, #34751, FN 7153-4, as A&WP 729, GP40. It became SBD 729 in January 1983 and renumbered 6649 in 1984.  It became CSX as 6649, Class GP-40, in April 1986. It was rebuilt by Boise as GP38-3 in January 26, 1998, as UP 2523 and renumbered as 1023 on October 14, 2003.

6651, Class GP-40, was built in May 1970, #36172, FN 7250-5, as AW&P 731.  It became SBD 731 in January 1983 and renumbered 6651 in 1983.  It became CSX 6651, Class GP-40, in April 1986 and scrapped at Waycross, GA.

6652, Class GP-40, was built in May 1970, #36173, FN 7250-6, as Georgia 732.  It became SBD 6652 in 1983 and later as CSX 6652, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was then sold to Conrail Leasing Co as 256 and later New York Susquehanna & Western as 3040.

6656, Class GP-40, was built in July 1968, #33884, FN 7093-4, as Georgia 754.  It became SBD 6656 in 1983 and later became CSX 6656, Class GP40, in April 1986.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen.

6659, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32352, FN 7929-3, as Atlantic Coast Line 917. It became Seaboard Coast Line 1502 in July 1967 and then SBD 1502 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6659 in 1984. It then became CSX 6659, Class GP-40, in April 1986 and sold to Helm Atlanta Leasing Co as 405.

6660, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32353, FN 7929-4, as ACL 918.  It became SCL 1503 in July 1967 and then SBD 1503 in January 1983  It was renumbered 6660 in 1984.  It then became CSX 6660, Class GP-40, in April 1986.

6661, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32354, FN 7929-5, as ACL 919.  It became SCL 1504 in July 1967 and then SBD 1504 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6661 in 1984.  It then became CSX 6661, Class GP-40, in April 1986 and rebuilt at Boise on February 28, 1997, as Union Pacific 2505, GP38-3, and renumbered 1005 on March 7, 2003.  It was retired on November 26, 2007, and sent to Helm Leasing as HLCX 1005.  It was sold as Nebraska Central 1005.

6663, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32356, FN 7929-7, as ACL 921.  It became SCL 1506 in July 1967 and SBD 1506 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6663 in 1984 and became CSX 6663, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was sold as Idaho Northern & Pacific 4500 in 1994 and sold as Pacific Imperial RR 4500 in July 2014.  It was lettered STBX temporarily for transit.

6667, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32360, FN 7929-11, as ACL 925.  It became SCL 1510 in July 1967 and then SBD 1510 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6667 in 1984.  It became CSX 6667, Class GP-40, in April 1986 and sold to Helm as HLCX 4000.  It was sold to Progress Rail as PRLX 4000 in 2008.

6668, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32361, FN 7629-12, as ACL 926.  It became SCL 1511 in July 1967 and SBD 1511 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6668 in 1984 and became CSX 6668, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was sold as I&NP 4501 in 1994 and sold as PIRR 4501 in July 2013.  It was lettered STBX temporarily for transit.

6669, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32362, FN 7629-13, as ACL 927.  It became SCL 1512 in July 1967 and then SBD 6669.  It became CSX 6669, Class GP-40, and sold as VMV Enterprises as 6669.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on June 14, 1991, as Virginia Railway Express V01.  It was sold to Motive Power Industries as MPEX 101 in 2011 and sold as Bay Line RR 2318 in 2012

6671, Class GP-40, was built in December 1966, #32364, FN 7629-15, by ACL 929.  It was merged as SCL 1514 in July 1967 and then SBD  6671.  It then became CSX 6671, Class GP-40, and later sold as Mississippi Export RR 95.

6672, Class GP-40, was built in May 1966, #31767, FN 7885-1, as Seaboard Air Line RR 600. In July 1967 it became Seaboard Coast Line 1515 and later SBD 1515. It was later renumbered 6672 and then became CSX 6672, Class GP-40. It was sold to VMV Enterprises as 6672 and then was rebuilt as Union Pacific 859.

6679, Class GP-40, was built in May 1966, #31775, FN 7885-9, as SAL 608.  In July 1967 it became SCL 1523 and SBD 1523 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6679 in 1984 and became CSX 6679, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen in 1994 as Maryland Mass Transit Administration 62.  It was sold to Motive Power Industries and rebuilt as SunRail 106, MP32PH-Q, in April 2014.

6680, Class GP-40, was built in May 1966, #31776, FN 7885-10, as SAL 609.  In July 1967 it became SCL 1524 and later SBD 1524.  It was later renumbered 6680 and then became CSX 6680, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 9727,  Class MOW, and rebuilt as 9119, Class RCPHE4.  It was rebuilt as 2374, Class Road Slug, in 2008.

6682, Class GP-40, was built in May 1966, #31778, FN 7885-12, as SAL 611.  It became SCL 1526 in July 1967 and SBD 1526 in January  1983.  It was renumber 6682 in 1984 and became CSX 6682, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was sold to and rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen in 1994 as MARC 63.  It was sold to Motive Power Industries and rebuilt as SunRail 105, MP32PH-Q, in April 2014.

6689, Class GP-40, was built in May 1966, #31787, FN 7897-3, as SAL 618.  It became SCL 1535 and became SBD 1535.  It was renumbered 6689 and became CSX 6689, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as GP40M-2 on April 16, 1991, as Southern Pacific 7113.  It was assigned Union Pacific 5383 in 1997 and became UP 1483 in January 13, 2002.

6690, Class GP-40, was built in June 1966, #31788, FN 7897-4, as Seaboard Air Lane 619.  It became SCL 1534 in July 1967 and became SBD 1534 in January 1983.  It was renumbered 6690 in 1984 and became CSX 6690, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40M-2, as St Louis South-Western 7289 on January 18, 1991.  It was assigned UP 5424, Class GP40M-2, in September 1997 and became UP 1524 on August 30, 2001.

6692, Class GP-40, was built in July 1966, #31790, FN 7897-6, as SAL 621.  In July 1967 it became SCL 1536 and later SBD 1536.  It was renumbered 6692 and then became CSX 6692, Class GP-40.  It was sold as VMV Enterprises 6692 and rebuilt as United States Army 4631.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co as 4631 and sold as Fort Worth & Western 2020 "Wyatt Earp" in December 2011.

6697, Class GP-40, was built in July 1966, #31795, FN 7897-13, as SAL 626.  In July 1967 it became SCL 1541 and later SBD 1541.  It was renumbered 6697 and then became CSX 6697, Class GP-40.  It was rebuilt at Boise on February 26, 1997, as Union Pacific 2506, GP38-3, and renumbered 1000 on June 3, 2003.  It was returned as Helm Leasing Corp HLCX 1000 on November 26, 1947.
