3000-3999
3000, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1966, #31414, FN 7865-1, as Union Pacific 3000, Class SD40, It was retired on February 9, 1987, and sold to NRE as NHL 3000 in November 1987. It was sold to Morrison-Knudsen as assigned 9403 in 1994 but rebuilt by MK in February 24, 1995, as Southern Pacific 8625. It was assigned Union Pacific 4651 and became UP 2701 February 5, 2002.
3004, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1966, #31418, FN 7865-5, as UP 3004, Class SD40. It was retired on August 21, 1991, and sold to National Railway Equipment as NRE 3004 and sold to MK as MKCX 9404 in early 1994. It was rebuilt as SD40M-2 at Boise and completed as Canadian Pacific 5499 on April 27, 1995.
3008, SD40 was built by Electro-Motive in March 1967, #32976, FN 7962-9, as Missouri Pacific 708. It was renumbered 3008 in March 1974 and later as Union Pacific assigned 4008, Class SD40, in July 1985. It was retired on June 5, 1991, and sold as Helm Leasing 3008. It was sold as National Ry Equipment Co 3008 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 25, 1994, as Southern Pacific 8645. It was assigned Union Pacific 4671, Class SD40M-3, and became UP 2721 on May 29, 2004. It was returned as NREX 2721.
3008, B30-7AB, was built by General Electric in August 1982, #44004, by Burlington Northern 4029, Class B30-7A. It was sold as Providence & Worcester 3008 in 2002 and sold as NREX 3008 in 2015.
3009, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1967, #32977, FN 7962-10, as MP 709. It was renumbered 3009 in March 1974 and was assigned UP 4009, Class SD40. It was retired May 18, 1988, and sold as HL 3009 on June 28, 1988. It was sold as NRE 3009 on March 14, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 27, 1994, as SP 8646. It was assigned UP 4672 and became UP 2722 on March 14, 2005.
3013, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1966, #32579, FN 7940-14, as Chicago Burlington & Quincy 183. It became Burlington Northern 3013, Class GP-40, in 1970, and retired in January 1987. It was sold as NHL 3013 in January 1987 and rebuilt by VMV Enterprises in June 1994 as Kansas City Southern 4742. It was renumbered 2804 in 2006 and sold to Locomotive Leasing Partners as LLPX 9906.
3020, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1968, #33741, FN 7057-1, as CB&Q 620. It became BN 3020, Class GP-40, in 1970, and retired in April 1984. It was sold as Helm 3020 and sold as NHL 3020. It was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises in June 1994 as KCS 4741 and renumbered 2825 in 2006. It was sold as LLPX 9902 and sold as Allegheny Valley RR 4004 in 2011.
3022, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1966, #31436, FN 7865-23, as UP 3022, SD40. It was retired on February 9, 1987, and to Helm on January 11, 1988, and sold to NRE on March 14, 1989. It was leased as NREX 3022 and sold to MK and assigned as MKCX 9405 in early 1994. It was rebuilt by MK Rail completed as a SD40M-2 as CP 5491.
3027, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1966, #31577, FN 7868-3, as UP 3027, Class SD40. It was retired June 5, 1991, and sold as NRE 3027 on October 9, 1911. It was sold and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as SP 8658 on October 3, 1994. It was assigned UP 4684 and became UP 2734 on December 4, 2003.
3059, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1970, #35730, FN 7214-6, as MP 759. It was renumbered 3059 in 1978 and assigned as UP 4059 and retired on August 12, 1991. It was sold as NRE 3059 on October 9, 1991. It was sold to MK and rebuilt on May 27, 1994, as SP 8634. It was assigned UP 4669 and became UP 2710 on October 17, 2003.
3071, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1967, #32882, FN 7956-3, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 3071, Class DE B-B 65. It was reclassified as Class EF430D-2 and retired on May 25, 2001. It was sold as NREX 3071 in April 2002. It was rebuilt as Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2013, Class GP38-2, in 2006.
3075, GP38-2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1967, #32886, FN 7956-7, as D&RGW 3075, Class DE B-B 65, a GP40. It was reclassified as Class EF430D-2 and assigned as Union Pacific 723. It was not renumbered before it was retired on May 25, 2001. It was sold as NRE 3075 in January 2002 and rebuilt as GP38-2.
3098, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1971, #37904, FN 7324-16, as UP 3098, Class SD-40. It was retired on October 8, 1992, and sold as NRE 3098 in August 1993. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen in January 1994 and rebuilt on July 29, 1994, as SP 8647. It was assigned UP 4673 and became UP 2723, Class SD40M-2, on March 20, 2003.
3107, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1971, #7324-25, FN 7324-25, as Union Pacific 3107, Class SD40-2. It was retired on October 26, 1988, and sold to Precision National Corp as PNL 3107 on November 30, 1988. It was sold as NREX 3107 in 1997. It was sold to GEC-Alstom and rebuilt as GSFX 3062 on September 1, 2000. It was sold to CIT Financial as CITX 3062 and sold as Lake State Ry 6301 in December 2013.
3178, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1976, #37363, FN 7308-9, as Cincinnati New Orleans & Texas Pacific (Southern RY) 3178. It was assigned as Norfolk Southern 3178, Class SD40, but never reletteredIt was sold as NRE 3178 and rebuilt by NRE as Pacific Harbor Line 81, 3GS21C, in May 2008.
3189, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1971, #7375-1, FN 7375-1, as Southern Ry 3186. It was assigned as Norfolk Southern 3186, Class SD40, but sold as NREX 3186. It was rebuilt as GEC Alsthom GCFX 3059. It became CIT-Financial Group as CEFX 3059 in 2008.
3210, GP40X, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1978, #766066-1, FN 766066-1, as Southern Ry 7000. It was sold as NRE 3210 and resold as St Lawrence & Atlantic Ry 3210. It was rebuilt as 3806, GP40M-3, in 2003.
3252, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1974, #73661-10, FN 73661-10, as Union Pacific 3252, Class SD40-2. It was renumbered 8012, Class SD40-2H, in April 1976 and returned as 3252 in June 1981. It was retired on September 14, 2007, and sold as NRE 3252 in 2008. It was sold as Fort Worth & Western RR 2018 "Tarantula" in October 2010.
3272, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1974, #73661-30, FN 73661-30, as UP 3272, Class SD40-2. It was renumbered 8032, Class SD40-2H, in June 1976 and back to 3272 in September 1981. It was retired on October 30, 2003, and sold as NREX 3272. It was sold to WATCo as WAMX 4115.
3333, SD50, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1980, #786257-26, FN 786257-26, as Chicago & North Western 5075. It was assigned UP 919 and became Union Pacific 5529 on July 18, 1997. It was retired on November 27, 2002, and sold as First Union Rail 2925. It was leased as Fort Worth & Western RR 2009 "Chisholm Trail" in January 2006 and leased to Rail Logix in 2009. It was returned as NREX 3333 in December 2010.
3589, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1979, #786218-16, FN 786218-16, as UP 8080, Class SD40-2H. It was renumbered 3589, Class SD40-2, in July 1981, and was retired on May 25, 2004. It was sold to as NREX 3589 and resold as WAMX 4116.
3600, 2GS36C-DE, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1978, #776099-16, FN 776099-16, as Missouri Pacific 3231, a SD40-2. It became UP 4231, Class SF40-2, on July 20, 1987, and rebuilt as B4231 on July 21, 1992. It was retired on November 22, 2000. It was rebuilt as NREX 3600. a 2GS36C-DE, in August 2011, #776099-16.
3603, B36-7, was built by General Electric in December 1980, #43132, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 7486, Class 7484. It was returned to GE for the GE lease fleet in August 1989 and sold to British Columbia Ry as 7486 on November 3, 1995,. It was rebuilt and renumbered as 3603 in 1996 and sold to NRE as 3603 in 2003.
3610, B36-7, was built by General Electric in November 1980, #43139, as AT&SF 7493, Class 7484. It was returned to GE for the GE lease fleet in August 1989 and sold to BCOL as 7493 on November 3, 1995. It was later rebuilt and renumbered 3610 in 1996. It was sold as NREX 3610 in 2003.
3615, B36-7, was built by General Electric in November 1980, #43144, as AT&SF 7498, Class 7484. It was returned to GE for the GE lease fleet. It was lease as Great Canadian Railtour Co in 1990 and returned to GE in 1992. It was leased as BCOL 7498 in October 1984 and became BCOL 3615 on January 24, 1997. It was sold to NRE as 3615 in 2003.
3734, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1980, #796297-76. FN 796297-76, as Union Pacific 3734, Class SD40-2. It was retired on January 30, 2002, and sold as NREX 3734. It was sold to WATCo as WAMX 4117.
3800, SD38, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1970, #36406, FN 7264-1, as Penn Central 6925, Class EF-20A. It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 6925, Class SD-38, in April 1976 and sold as Norfolk Southern PRR 3800. It became NS 3800, Class SD38, and retired. It was returned to service in March 2012 and retired on August 7, 2012. It was sold as NREX 3800 on September 8, 2012.
3804, Class SD38, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1970, #36410, FN 7264-5, as PC 6929, Class EF-20A. It became Conrail 6929, Class SD-38, in April 1976 and sold as NS PRR 3804, Class SD38. It became NS 3804 and and retired on September 7, 2012. It was sold as NREX 3804 on September 8, 2012.
