Electro-Motive SD40 Diesels
700 was built in March 1967, #32968, FN 7962-1. It was renumbered 3000 in 1978 and assigned to Union Pacific as 4000, Class SD40, in July 1985. It was retired on January 30, 1989, and was sold to Wilson Railway Co on March 17, 1989. It was sold to PLM Leasing Co as 3000 in August 1989 and was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in September 27, 1990, as SD40-2. It was sold to MK and rebuilt as SD40-3 on August 13, 1993, as 9049, and then sold to Helm Leasing as 6305 on August 26, 1996. It was leased to Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicano as 1508 and later returned as HATX 1508.
703 was built in March 1967, #32971, FN 7962-4. It was renumbered 3003 in March 1974 and later as UP assigned 4003, Class SD40, in July 1985. It was retired on October 4, 1988, and was sold to Wilson on October 24, 1988. It was sold to Wisconsin Central Ltd in 1989 as lease unit 4003 and then to Wheeling & Lake Erie as 4003 in August 1992. It was rebuilt on May 1, 1998, as SD40-3.
707 was built in March 1967, #32975, FN 7962-8. It was renumbered 3007 in March 1974 and later as UP assigned 4007, Class SD40, in July 1985. It was retired on October 9, 1992. It was rebuilt by AMC and rebuilt as HLCX 3007 on March 14, 1994.
708 was built in March 1967, #32976, FN 7962-9. It was renumbered 3008 in March 1974 and later as UP assigned 4008, Class SD40, in July 1985. It was retired on June 5, 1991, and sold as Helm Leasing 3008. It was sold as National Ry Equipment Co 3008 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 25, 1994, as Southern Pacific 8645. It was assigned Union Pacific 4671, Class SD40M-3, and became UP 2721 on May 29, 2004. It was returned as NREX 2721.
709 was built in March 1967, #32977. FN 7962-10. It was renumbered 3009 in March 1974 and was assigned UP 4009, Class SD40. in July 1985. It was retired May 18, 1988, and sold as HL 3009 on June 28, 1988. It was sold as NREX 3009 on March 14, 1989, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on July 27, 1994, as SP 8646. It was assigned UP 4672, Class SD40M-3, and became UP 2722 on March 14, 2005.
710 was built in March 1967, #32978, FN 7962-11. It was renumbered 3010 in March 1974 and was assigned UP 4010, Class SD40, in July 1985. It was retired on October 9, 1992, and sold to Helm on May 2, 1993. It was overhauled at AMC Montreal as HLCX 3010 on December 16, 1993. It was rebuilt by Boise Locomotive as HLCX 6058, SD40-3, on August 2, 1996.
711 was built in March 1967, #32979, FN 7962-12. It was renumbered 3011 in March 1974 and was assigned UP 4011, Class SD40, in July 1985. It was retired on November 30, 1988, and sold to VMV Enterprises on February 10, 1989. It was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen on January 30, 1995, as SP 8688. It was assigned UP 4714, Class SD40M-3, and became UP 2764 on October 15, 2003. It was sold as NREX 2764.
713 was built in March 1967, #32981, FN 7962-14. It was renumbered 3013 in March 1974 and was assigned UP 4013, Class SD40. in July 1985. It was retired on October 6, 1988, and sold to Wilson Railway Co on October 24, 1988. It was sold to WCLtd in 1989 as lease unit 4013 and renumbered 4018. It was sold as W&LE 4018 in August 1992 and rebuilt as SD40-3 in February 1999.
729 was built in February 1968, #33780, FN 7995-10. It was renumbered 3029 in March 1974 and was assigned to UP as 4029 in July 1985. It was retired on January 30, 1989, and was sold to Wilson Railway Co on March 17, 1989. It was sold to PLM Leasing Co as 3029 in August 1989 and was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in April 1993 as SD40-3. It was sold to MK in February 24, 1994, as 9052, and then sold to Helm Leasing as 6303 on August 26, 1996. It was leased to Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicano as 1514 and later returned as HATX 1514.
734 was built in February 1969, #34504, FN 7144-1. It was renumbered 3034 in March 1974 returned in U S Leasing Corp on July 31, 1984. It was later sold to VMV Enterprises as 3034. It was then rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in August 1990 as CSX Transportation 8475, Class SD40-2, on September 20, 1990. It was destroyed on January 19, 1991.
740 was built in February 1969, #34510, FN 7144-7. It was renumbered 3040 in May 1974 and sold to VMV in 1984. It was leased as Chicago & North Western 3040 in September 1988 and returned in August 1989. It was sold to Morrison Knudsen and rebuilt as CSX 8462, Class SD40M-2, on August 3, 1990.
752 was built in February 1969, #34522, FN 7144-19. It was renumbered 3052 in March 1974 and returned in U S Leasing Corp on July 31, 1984. It was later sold to Paducah & Louisville as 3052 and then VMV as 3052. It was then rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in August 1990 as CSX 8466, Class SD40-2, on August 17, 1990.
755 was built in January 1970, #35726, FN 7214-2. It was renumbered 3055 in March 1974 and sold to VMV on February 10, 1989. It was sold to Helm Leasing and rebuilt as SD40-3 HLCX 6051 on April 7, 1995. It was sold as Dakota Minnesota & Eastern 6051 in May 1996 and sold as Rapid City Pierre & Eastern 6051. It was renumbered 3483 in 2018.
759 was built in January 1970, #35730, FN 7214-6. It was renumbered 3059 in March 1974 and assigned as UP 4059 and retired on August 12, 1991. It was sold as NRE 3059 on October 9, 1991. It was sold to MK and rebuilt on May 27, 1994, as SP 8634. It was assigned UP 4669 and became UP 2710 on October 17, 2003.
764 was built in January 1970, #35735, FN 7214-11. It was renumbered 3064 in March 1974 and was assigned as Union Pacific 4064 in July 1985 and retired on October 9, 1992, It was by Helm May 26, 1993. It was overhauled by AMF and became 3064 on January 12, 1994. It was renumbered 6073 in 1997.
770 was built in March 1971, #37543, FN 7319-1. It was renumbered 3070 in March 1971 and sold as Helm 5070. It was then sold as General American Transportation Corp 5070 and rebuilt as Burlington Northern 7300, Class SD-40G, in April 1989. It was rebuilt as Locomotive Leasing Partners 4302 in July 1997 and later rebuilt as Belt Ry of Chicago 563, SD38-3. It was resold as Alamo Gulf Coast RR 2.
772 was built in March 1971, #37345, FN 7319-3. It was renumbered 3072 in March 1971 and sold as Helm 5072. It was then sold as GATX 5072 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen as BN 7301, Class SD-40G, in May 1989. It was rebuilt as LLPX 4301 in July 1997 and later rebuilt as BRC 564, SD38-3.
775 was built in March 1971, #37548, FN 7319-6. It was renumbered 3075 in March 1971 and sold as Helm 5075. It was then sold as GATX 5075 and rebuilt as BN 7303, Class SD-40G, in March 1989. It was rebuilt as LLPX 4303 in July 1997 and later rebuilt as BRC 565, SD38-3. It was sold to Motive Power Resources in July 2013 and sold to Midwest Maintenance Service on October 29, 2013. It was sold to Nebraska Public Power District as NPPD 1971 on December 12, 2013.
776 was built in March 1971, #37549, FN 7319-7. It was renumbered 3076 in March 1971 and sold as Helm 5076. It was then sold as GATX 5076 and rebuilt as BN 7304, Class SD-40G, in May 1989. It was rebuilt as LLPX 4304 in July 1997 and later rebuilt as BRC 561, SD38-3.
777 was built in March 1971, #37550, FN 7319-8. It was renumbered 3077 in March 1971 and sold as Helm 5077, It was then sold as GATX 5077 and rebuilt as BN 7305, Class SD-40G, in May 1989. It was rebuilt as LLPX 4305 in July 1997 and later rebuilt as BRC 566, SD38-3. It was resold as AGCR 1.
786 was built in April 1971, #37559, FN 7319-17. It was renumbered 3086 in March 1971 and sold as Helm 5086. It was then sold as GATX 5086 and rebuilt as BN 7308, Class SD-40G, in June 1989. It was rebuilt as LLPX 4307 in July 1997 and later rebuilt as BRC 560, SD38-3.
788 was built in March 1971, #37561, FN 7319-19. It was renumbered 3088 in March 1971 and sold as Helm 5088. It was then sold as GATX 5088 and rebuilt as BN 7309, Class SD-40G, in April 1989. It was rebuilt as LLPX 4308 in July 1997 and later rebuilt as BRC 562, SD38-3 It was sold to ConAgra Inc as CAGX 608 and leased as Ardent Mills.
