4000-4999

 

4000, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1966, #32360, FN 7929-11, as Atlantic Coast Line 925.  It became Seaboard Coast Line 1510 in July 1967 and then Seaboard System 1510 in January 1983.  It was  renumbered 6667 in 1984.  It became CSX Transportation 6667, Class GP-40, in April 1986 and sold as HLCX 4000.  It was sold as Progress Rail as PRLX 4000 in 2008.

4002, GP40,, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1966, #32443, FN 5718-1, as Louisville & Nashville 3000, Class GP-40.  It became SBD 3000 in January 1983 and later 6797 in 1984.  It became CSX 6797, Class GP-40, in April 1986.  It was sold as HLCX 4002.

4003, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1966, #32235, FN 7926-4, as Chicago Rock Island & Pacific 343.  It became Union Pacific 603 on April 7, 1980, and transferred as Missouri Pacific 603 on September 6, 1985l  It was retired on October 6, 1988, and sold to Wilson Ry in November 1988.  It was sold as Intermountain Transportation Services 301 in 1989 and sold as HLCX 301.  It was rebuilt by AMF as HLCX 4003 on February 3, 1985.  It was leased as Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana 1157 after April 1997 and returned as HLCX 4003.

4054, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1966, #31873, FN 7901-5, as Norfolk & Western 1333. It was later sold to Helm as 4054 and then to Maine Central as 379.

4201, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1966, #31673, FN 7876-27, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 187, Class 30E-RS. It was renumbered 2007 in 1968 and became Soo Line RR 2007 in 1985. It had been assigned 4642, but was retired in February 1989. It was sold to Helm Leasing in September 1988 and was leased to National Railway Passenger Corp as 662.  It became HL  4201.

4208, GP40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1984, #847065-4, FN 847046-4, as St Louis South-Western 7251, Class EF430W-4.  It was assigned to Union Pacific as 5221, Class GP40-2, in March 1997 and later assigned 1321 in December 1999.  It was returned to National Railway Equipment Co on April 7, 2000, as NREX 7251.  It was sold to Iowa Chicago & Eastern as 4208 "City of Janesville" in January 2003.  It was returned as HLCX 4208 in 2012.

4221, GP40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1977, #776025-17, FN 776025-17, as Boston & Maine 316.  It was returned as HATX 503 and sold as Canadian Pacific 4651 in 1999.  It was returned as HLCX 4221 in 2013,

4223, GP40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1977, #776052-6, FN 776052-6, as B&M 305.  It was returned as HATX 505 and and sold to US Rail Partners as USRP 505 in 2011.  It was returned to Helm as HLCX 4223 in 2014.

4300, GP40X, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1978, #766016-3. FN 766016-3, as Southern Pacific 7230, Class EF435-2.  It was retired in January 1996 and sold as Helm 4300.  It was sold as Lake States Ry 4300 in August 2010.

4400, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968, #34331, FN 7127-50, as Penn Central 3154, Class EF-30. It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 3154, Class GP-40, in April 1976, and was later sold to Kyle RR as 3110 in 1985. In 1994 it was sold to Helm and rebuilt at Loveland as 3110, "The Stephen D Whitham". It was later renumbered 4400 and sold to Webb Asset Management as WAMX 4040.

4401, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33504, FN 7064-14, as New York Central 3093, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3093, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3093, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Kyle as 3111 and later to Helm as 3111.  It was rebuilt as 4401 and sold as WAMX 4041.

4402, GP40-3, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #38556, FN 7340-12, as Chesapeake & Ohio 4076, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6831 in 1986 and became CSX Transportation 6831, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was rebuilt as Helm Leasing Corp as HLCX 4402, GP40-3, and sold as WAMX 4039 in 2005.

4403, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1970, #36168, FN 5794-3, as Illinois Central 3072.  It was sold to Helm as 3072 and rebuilt as Amtrak 656. It was later returned to Helm as 656 and later renumbered 4403.   It was sold as WAMX 4038.

4404, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1968, #34710, FN 7145-77, as PC 3246, Class EF-30. In April 1976 it became Conrail 3246, Class GP-40, and was sold in January 1984 to B&M as 3246.  It was renumbered 341 shortly.  It was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises in 1991 as Amtrak 661 and sold to Helm Leasing as HLCX 661 in 1993.  It was renumbered 4404 in 1994 and sold as Huron Central Ry 3802.

4414, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33501, FN 7064-11, as NYC 3090, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3090, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3090, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Kyle as 3117 and later to Helm as 3117.  It was rebuilt as Amtrak 655 and later returned to Helm as 655.  It was renumbered 4414 and became WAMX 4046.

4405, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33515, FN 7064-25, as NYC 3104, Class EF-30.  It became PC 3104, Class EF-30, in 1968 and Conrail 3104, Class GP-40, on April 1976.  It was sold to Kyle RR as 3104 and later to Helm as 3104. It was rebuilt as as Amtrak 650 and later returned to Helm as 650. It was renumbered 4405 sold as WAMX 4405.  It was renumbered 4042.

4406, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33499, FN 7064-9, as NYC 3088, Class EF-30. It became PC 3088, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3088, Class GP-40, in April 1976. It was sold to Kyle RR as 3108 and later to Helm as 3108. It was rebuilt as Amtrak 651 and later returned to Helm as 651. It was renumbered 4406 and sold as WAMX 4406.  It was renumbered 4033.

4407, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33494, FN 7064-4, as NYC 3083, Class EF-30. It became PC 3083, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Conrail 3083, Class GP-40, in April 1976. It was sold to Arkansas & Missouri as 3083 and then sold to Kyle RR as 3116. It was sold to Helm as 3116 and rebuilt as Amtrak 654 and later returned to Helm as 654. It was later renumbered 4407 and sold as WAMX 4043.

4408, GP40,  was built by Electro-Motive in November 1968, #34691, FN 7146-58, as PC 3227, Class EF-30. In April 1976 it became Conrail 3227, Class GP-40, and was sold in January 1984 to Boston & Maine as 320.  It was rebuilt by VMV as Amtrak 657 in 1991 and returned as Hekn 657 in June 1993.  It was renumbered 4408.

4409, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1968, #34693, FN 7146-60, as PC 3229, Class EF-30.  In April 1976 it became Conrail 3229, Class GP-40, and was sold in January 1984 to B&M as 321.  It was rebuilt by VMV as Amtrak 658 in 1991 and returned as Helm 658 in June 1993.  It was renumbered 4409 and sold to Watco Companies as WAMX 4034.

4410, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1968, #34697, FN 7146-64, as PC 3233, Class EF-30. In April 1976 it became Conrail 3233, Class GP-40, and was sold in 1983 to B&M as 323.  It was rebuilt by VMV as Amtrak 659. It was later returned to Helm as 659. It was renumbered 4410 and sold as WAMX 4035.

4411, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1968, #34698, FN 7145-65, as PC 3234, Class EF-30.  In April 1976 it became Conrail 3234, Class GP-40, and was sold in January 1984 to B&M as 324.  Ut was rebuilt as Amtrak 660 in 1991 and returned as Helm as 660.  It was renumbered 4411.

4415, GP40-3, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #38562, FN 7340-10, as Chesapeake & Ohio 4083, Class GP-40.  It was renumber 6838 in 1986 and later CSX Transporation 6838, Class GP-40, in 1987.  It was sold to as HLCX 665 and rebuilt as HLCX 4415, GP40-3.  It was sold as WAMX 4036 in 2006 and assigned as South Kansas & Oklahoma RR in 2013.

4416, GP40-3,  was built by Electro-Motive in October 1966, #32304, FN 7924-11, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 196, Class 30E-RS.  It was renumbered 2022 in 1968 and became Soo Line RR 2022 in 1985.  It was retired in February 1989.  It was sold to Helm Leasing and leased as Union Pacific 864, Class GP40, on February 15, 1989.  It was retired on July 23, 1998, and returned to Helm.  It was rebuilt as HLCX 4416, GP40-3, and rebuilt to Webb Asset Management as WAMX 4037 in March 2006.
