Durbin & Greenbriar Valley RR

4 was built by Baldwin in September 1926, #59472, as Ferrocarril Mexicano 200. It was never delivered to them and then was sold to the Buffalo Creek & Gauley later in 1926. After the BC&G quit running it was sold to the Quakertown & Eastern for excursion service as 4 in 1967.  It was sold to Carter-Cash Enterprises in February 1972 and sold to Southwest Virginia Scenic RR 4 in April 1975.  It ran 2 years and sold to North Carolina Transportation Museum and lettered as 604 in a Southern Ry style in 1978.  It needed heavy repair and no funds in 2011 so it was sold to D&GV in 2015 where it is being restored .

40, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1955, #20849, FN 5413-3, as Chesapeake & Ohio 5940, Class MRSE-17.  It was reclassified Class GP-9 in 1964 and became Western Maryland 5940, Class GP-9, in April 1976.  It was sold as Western Maryland Scenic RR 5940.  It was sold to Jack Showalter as Virginia Central 40 and leased to Shenandoah Valley RR.  It was sold as DGVR 40 in 2007 and renumbered back to 5940 in December 2017.

367, RS11, was built by Alco in December 1958, #82958, as Norfolk & Western 367.  It was sold as Maine Coast RR 367 "City of Rockland" and sold as Louisville New Albany & Corydon 367 but never used.  It was sold as DGVR 367 in October 2012.

522, F7A, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1950, #11800, FN 3036-A10, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 109-A, Class 15E-F. It was retired in February 1983 and was part of a closed restaurant complex in the Stowell Yard.  It was sold to Kansas City as Kansas City Southern 110 in 2008 but not used.  It was sold as DGVR 522 in 2008.

1828, RS18u, was built by Montreal in July 1958, #82474, as Canadian Pacific 8793, Class DRS-18b. It was rebuilt February 1985 as 1828, Class DRS-18.  It was sold as Ottawa Central RR 1828 in December 1998 and sold as Grenada Ry 1828 in 2009.  It was sold as DGVR  1828 in November 2012.

6530, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1957, #23004, FN 5519-20. as Baltimore & Ohio 6530, Class FSE-2.  It was reclassified Class GP-9 in 1964 but was sold as Millville Quarries M-1 on May 6, 1987.  It became Aggregate Industries 33005 later.  It was sold to Larry's Truck Electric and resold to Virginia Rail Services.  It was sold as DGVR 6530.

No number, 20GM24, was built by Whitcomb in January 1942, #13214, as Quartermaster Corp 2089.  It was renumbered United States Army 7720 and sold as Dundee Cement Co 105.  It was sold as Coe Rail 105 and resold as D&GV no number.  It was sold to Whippany Railway Museum in 2004 and restored as New York Susquehanna & Western 150.

120 was built by Pullman.  It was sold from White River Scenic RR to D&GV 120 in 2001.

Shenandoah Valley RR

8701, RS4TC, was built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in 1954, #61285, as United States Army 4042.  It was transferred as Defense Logistic Agency 87001 "The Admiral" and sold in 1999 as Shenandoah Valley RR 87001.  It was repainted and renumbered 8701 in 2006.


South Branch Valley Ry

This line operates over former B&O trackage between Green Spring and Petersburg.

1, S1, was built by Alco in October 1943, #69660, as United States Army 7135.  It was served at Fort Dix, NJ and transferred as U S Navy 65-00536.  It was sent to Cass and rebuilt as SBV 1.  It was sent to Kiski Junction RR 7135 in 1995.

16, S4, was built by Alco in April 1956, #81321, as Baltimore & Ohio 469, Class DS-5A.  It was renumbered 9009, Class SA-3, in 1957, and reclassified Class S-4 in 1966.  It was retired on January 1, 1979, and sold as SBV 16 on April 3, 1979.

28, MRS1, was built by Alco and General Electric in 1953, #80401, #31640, as USA B2085.  It was sold as South Branch Valley Ry 28.  It was sold as Eastern Shore RR 2085 and sold to Bay Coast RR 2085 in 2006.  It may not have been relettered but scrapped in 2011.

92, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1956, #21849, FN 5459-17, as Norfolk & Western 730.  It was rebuilt as 5003 and renumbered 2003.  It was sold as SBV 6352 in July 1992 and renumbered 92.

180, SD9, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1957, #23106, FN 5525-8, as Duluth Missabe & Iron Range 118, Class RS-2. It later was became Bessemer & Lake Erie 845. It was then rebuilt by Larry's Truck Equipment as 180 and then became SBV 180.

181, SD9, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1957, #23105, FN 5525-7, as DM&IR 117, Class RS-2. It later became B&LE 844. It was then rebuilt by LTE as 181 and then became SBV 181.

182, SD18, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1962, #27723, FN 5644-3, as B&LE 853, Class W-6AE, in 2003. It was then rebuilt by LTE as 182 and then became SBV 182 on July 2003.

6135, Class GP-9, was built in September 1956, #22043, FN 5467-27, as  Chesapeake & Ohio 6135, Class MRSE-17.  It was reclassified Class GP-9 in 1964 and transferred as Baltimore & Ohio 6135. Class GP-9, on September 5, 1978.  It was sold West Virginia Railroad Maintenance Authority and assigned as SBV 6135 on November 8, 1984.

6506, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1956, #22250, FN 5489-6, as B&O 6506, Class FSE-2. It became Class GP-9 in 1964 and assigned CSX Transportation 0506.sold as SBV 6506 on July 30, 1986.  It was retired by 1997.

6604, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1955, #20421, FN 5388-5, as B&O 751, Class RSE-9c. It became 3411, Class PSE-2, in 1957, and 6604, Class FSE-4 in 1958. It was reclassed Class GP-9 in 1964 and leased as Central RR of New Jersey 6604 on April 15, 1968.  It was returned to B&O on November 10, 1969 and sold to SBV as 6604 on September 29, 1983.


West Virginia Central RR

4 was built by American Car & Foundry in 1954 as Union Pacific 5814, postal storage car.  It was retired in September 1970 and became 903675, tool car, in 1973.  It was rebuilt Teleweld Inc in 1975 as Union Pacific DC-4, rail detector car.  It was retired in November 1988 and sold to WCV as 4.

67, FP7A, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1952,  #14804, FN 6310-A1, as Clinchfield RR 200. It became Seaboard System RR as 200 in January 1983 and was renumbered 118 in 1984. It became CSX Transportation 118 in April 1986 and was renumbered 418 in November 1998. It became WVC 67 in 2001 and painted as Western Maryland 67.

415, F7B, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1950, #11957, FN 3028-B5, as Nashville Chattanooga & St Louis 918, Class F7-1500B.  It became Louisville & Nashville 1918, Class FP-71B in 1957 and transferred as CRR 869 in January 1965.  It became CSX 117 in 1987 and renumbered 417 in November 1998.  It became WVC 415 in 2001.
