9000-9999

 

9074, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1969, #34909, FN 7170-6, as Southern Pacific 9074, Class EF636-5.  It was sold as NRE 9074 in 1987 and rebuilt by MK Rail as Southern Pacific 8584 on May 4, 1994. SD40-3.  It  became Union Pacific 2658 on March 12, 2008.

9085, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1969, #34920, FN 7170-17, as SP 9085, Class EF636-5.  It was sold as NRE 9085 in 1987 and rebuilt by MK Rail as SP 8590 on June 25, 1994, as SD40M-3.  It became UP 2683 on October 24, 2003, and sold as NREX 2683.  It was sold to WATCo as WAMX 4244 in 2019.

9130, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1969, #35767, FN 7217-7, as SP 9130, Class EF636-6.  It was sold as NRE 9130 in 1989 and rebuilt by MK Rail as 8585 on May 10, 1994, as SD40M-3.  It became UP 2661 on March 26, 2003, and sold as Huron & Eastern RR 2661 in May 2012.

9177, F7Au, was built by General Motors in September 1952, #A364, FN C145-13, as Canadian National 9088, Class V-1-A-d, F7A.  It was reclassified as Class GFA-15d in September 1954 and rebuilt in October 1974 as 9177, Class GFA-17a.  It was retired on December 4, 1989, and sold to Century Locomotive Parts in October 1990.  It was sold to NRE in November 1990 and sold to Norfolk Southern as SOU 9177 in December 2012.

9337, SD45T-2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1974, #73630-23, FN 73630-23, as SP 9337, Class EF636-11.  It was assigned as UP 4907, Class SD45T-2, but retired on June 18, 2001.  It was sold as NREX 9337 and rebuilt by NRE in October 2012 as Indiana Harbor Belt 2163, 3GS21C.

9424, GP18, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1963, #24287, FN 5651-10, as Illinois Central 9424.  It was sold as Columbia & Silver Creek 9424 and resold as South Alabama RR 9424.  It was sold as Wiregrass Central RR 9424 and sold as NREX 9424.  It was sold as Inter-Rail Group Inc as IRTX 9424 in July 2012.

9529, GP38, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1969, #35173. FN 7185-10, as Gulf Mobile & Ohio 710. It later became Illinois Central Gulf  9529 and was sold to NRE as 9529 in January 1995. It was sold to New England Central as 9529 in 1998 and renumbered 3859 in August 2001.

9546, SW1500, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1972, #7355-37, FN 7355-37, as Penn Central 9546, Class ES-15.  It later became Consolidated Railroad Corp 9546, Class SW-1500, in April 1976.  It was sold to NRE as 9546 and later sold to CIT Financial as 9546.  It was then sold to Buffalo & Pittsburgh as 1513.

9547, SW1500, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1972, #7355-38, FN 7355-38, as PC 9547, Class ES-15.  It later became Conrail 9547, Class SW-1500, in April 1976.  It was sold to NRE as 9547 and later to CIT as 9547.  It was then sold to B&P as 1514.

9844, SD50, was built in December 1984, #847008-56, FN 847008-56, as Missouri Pacific 5055.  It became Union Pacific 5055, Class SD50, on February 15, 1990, and renumbered 9844 on May 20, 2002.  It was retired on July 11, 2007, and sold to National Railway Equipment Co as NREX 9844 in July 2007.  It was sold to OmniTrax in November 2008 and assigned as Hudsan Bay Ry 5007 in January 2009.

9931, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1978, #777100-5, FN 777100-5, as Missouri Pacific 3256.  It became Union Pacific 4256, Class SD40-2, on September 1, 1988, and was renumbered 9931 on October 12, 2000.  It was retired on April 19, 2001, and sold as NREX 9931.  It was sold to Waste Control Specialists LLC as WCSX 1001.

9956, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1968, #34291 FN 7127-11, as  Penn Central  3114, Class EF-30.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 3114, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as Missouri-Kansas-Texas  3114 in 1983.  It was renumbered 239 in 1984 and became Union Pacific 674, Class GP40, on June 23, 1989.  It was renumbered 9956 on September 13, 2000, and retired on May 25, 2001,  It was sold as NREX 9956.

9960, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968, #34310, FN 7127-29, as PC 3133, Class EF-30.  It became Conrail 3133, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as MKT 3133 in 1983.  It was renumbered 243 in 1984 and became UP 678, Class GP-40, on October 19, 1989.  It was renumbered 9960 on March 9, 2000, and retired on May 25, 2001. It was sold as NREX 9960 and rebuilt at GEC-Alstom as Great Canadian Railtour RMRX 8015, GP40-2R.

9961, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968, #34316, FN 7127-35, as PC 3139, Class EF-30, a GP40.  It became Conrail 3139, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as MKT 3139 in 1983.  It was renumbered 244 in 1984 and became UP 679 on July 13, 1989.  It was renumbered 9961 on March 13, 2000, and retired on May 25, 2001.  It was sold as NRE 9961 and rebuilt in 2006 as Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2007, Class GP38-2.

9962, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1968, #34321, FN 7127-40, as PC 3144, Class EF-30.  It became Conrail 3144, Class GP-40, in April 1976 and sold as MKT 3144 in 1983.  It was renumbered 245 in 1984 and became UP  680, Class GP-40, on September 6, 1990.  It was renumbered 9962 on March 28, 2000, and retired on February 7, 2001.  It was sold as NREX 9962 and rebuilt as BNSF 2003, Class GP38-2, in May 2006.

9968, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1965, 30953, FN 7831-17, as New York Central 3016, Class DRS-16a.  It became Class EF-30 in 1966.  It became Penn Central 3016, Class EF-30, in 1968, and Consolidated Railroad Corp 3016, Class GP-40, in April 1976.  It was sold to Precision National Corp in July 1980 and as Chicago & North Western  5506 in July 1981.   It  becamr as Union Pacific 637, Class GP40, on May 9, 1996 and became UP 691 on July 23, 1997.  It was renumbered 9968 on June 14, 2000. amd retired on June 20, 2001.  It was sold at National Railway Equipment Co NREX 9968 and rebuilt as Coos Bay Rail Line 2018. GP38-2.
