Electro-Motive/General Motors F Diesels
SOU 407, F7A, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1949, #8548, as Chicago & North Western 4072A. It was renumbered 407 in December 1971 and was sold to Regional Transit Authority (Metra) on December 31, 1977, and leased back to the C&NW. It was retired on May 9, 1983, and was sold to Naporano Iron & Metal in January 1985. It was resold to the Cedar Valley RR in May 1985 and later sold to Coe Rail as 407. It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co in 2000 and sold to NS as SOU 407 in December 2012.
SOU 1019, F7B slug, was built by General Motors in February 1953, #A498, FN C159-4, as Canadian Pacific 4462, Class DFB-15e. It was rebuilt as hump booster 6801, Class HB-15, in April 1983 and rebuilt as 1019, slug, in 1995. It was sold to NRE in 1999 and sold as SOU 1019 in December 2012.
SOU 9177, F7Au, was built by General Motors in September 1952, #A364, FN C145-13, as Canadian National 9088, Class V-1-A-d, F7A. It was reclassified as Class GFA-15d in September 1954 and rebuilt in October 1974 as 9177, Class GFA-17a. It was retired on December 4, 1989, and sold to Century Locomotive Parts in October 1990. It was sold to NRE in November 1990 and sold as SOU 9177 in December 2012.
