Paducah Rebuilt Electro-Motive GP Diesels 8200-8296

8204, GP9u, was built in September 1956, #22541, FN 5496-2, as Chesapeake & Ohio 6160, Class MRSE-17. It was reclassified Class GP-9 in 1964 and later sold to Luntz Steel. It was rebuilt at Paducah in October 1973 as ICG 8204 and later rebuilt as United States Army 1880.

8207, GP9u. was built in December 1954, #19909, FN 5359-20, as IC 9067.  It was rebuilt as ICG 8207 in May 1973 and it was retired.  There is a report that it was sold as Glover Group 7 but there seems to be no other information.

8209, GP7u, was built in November 1952, #17043, FN 5172-12, as C&O 5823, Class MRSE-15.  It was reclassified Class GP-7 in 1964 later later sold to Luntz Steel.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in September 1973 as ICG 8209 and sold as Paducah & Louisville 8209.  It was renumbered 8301 and sold to Railserve Inc as RSSX 8301.

8210, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22333, FN 5517-11, as IC 9210.  It was rebuilt by Paducah in June 1970 as IC 8210 and sold as MidSouth Rail 1055.  It was later sold as Puget Sound & Pacific Ry 1004 in December 1997.

8211, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22334, FN 5517-12,, as IC 9211.  It was rebuilt at Paducah as ICG 8211 in May 1971.  It was sold as Chicago Central & Pacific 8211 and planned as 1710.  It was returned to IC as 8411 on October 6, 1998, and sold to Archer Daniels Midland as ADMX 8411.

8212, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22335, FN 5517-13, as IC 9212.  It was rebuilt by Paducah in August 1971 as ICG 8212.  It was sold as Gulf & Mississippi 8212 and renamed as South Rail Corp 8212.  It became MidSouth Rail 1063.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co.

8214, GP9u, was built in March 1954, #19242, FN 5321-B37, as Union Pacific 166B, Class GP9B.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in June 1977 as ICG 8214 and sold to VMV Enterprises in January 1992.

8217, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22340, FN 5517-18, as IC 9217.  It was rebuilt by Paducah in August 1976 as IC 8217 and sold as ADMX 8217.

8219, GP9u, was built in November 1956, #22557, FN 5509-8, as C&O 6174, Class MRSE-17. It became Class GP-9 in 1964 and was later sold to Luntz Steel Co. It was rebuilt at Paducah in September 1974 as ICG 8219.

8220, GP9u, was built in September 1956, # 22545, FN 5496-6, as C&O 6164, Class MRSE-17.  It became Class GP-9 in 1964 and was later sold to Luntz Steel Co.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in October 1973 as ICG 8220.

8221, GP9u, was built in August 1957, #23589, FN 5546-11, as New York Central 6054, Class DRS-9h.  It was renumbered 7456, Class ERS-17, in 1968 and sold to Precision Engineering Co in 1968 and sold as St Johnsbury & Lamoille County Ry 201 in 1968.  It was sold to George R Silcott Co in September 1973 and sold to ICG.  It was rebuilt at Paducah as 8221 on June 7, 1974.

8223, GP9u, was built in January 1957, ##22277, FN 5480-5, as IC 9223.  It was rebuilt by Paducah in October 1971 as ICG 8223.  It later became Gulf & Mississippi 8223 and MidSouth Rail 1082.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co.

8224, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22289, FN 5480-17, as IC 9224.  It was rebuilt by Paducah in June 1970 as IC 8224 and later sold to MSR as 8224.  It was renumbered 1080.  It later was sold to Meridian Southern as 1080 in March 2000. and was wrecked in 2008.

8226, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22291, FN 5480-19, as IC 9226. It was rebuilt by Paducah in June 1970 as IC 8226 and later sold to MidSouth Rail as 8226. It was renumbered 1075. It later was sold to Puget Sound & Pacific Ry as 1002 in September 1997.

8227, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22292, FN 5480-20, as IC 9227. It was rebuilt by Paducah in October 1970 as IC 8227 and later sold to MidSouth Rail as 8227. It was renumbered 1066 and later transfered to Gateway Western as 1066. It was later sold to Omnitrax as 1066 in 1997 and then to Hudson Bay Ry as 2511 in 1997.

8230, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22295, FN 5480-23, as IC 9230. It was rebuilt by Paducah in June 1971 as ICG 8230. It later became G&M as 8230 and later as MSR as 1081.  It was sold to Rail Switching Services as RSSX 1081.

8235, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22300, FN 5480-28, as IC 9235.  It was rebuilt at Paducah as 8235, GP11, in March 1971 and sold as G&M as 8235.  It was sold as MidSouth Rail 8235 and renumbered 1070.  It was leased as Utah RR 1070 in August 1997 and resold to Omni-Trax as GWRX 1070 in 1998.  It was sold as Transfietere del Norte 1070. 

8245, GP9u, was built  in December 1955, #20756, FN 5409-1, as IC 9118. It was rebuilt at Paducah as ICG 8245 in July 1973 and later became USA 1877.

8250, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22315, FN 5480-43, as IC 9250.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in April 1970 and renumbered 8250.  It was sold to Precision National Corp as 2000 and sold to Farmrail Corp as 8250 "Potawatomi".  It was marked to Grainbelt.   It was sold to Midland Ry in 2017.

8251, GP9u, was built in December 1954, #19769, FN 5359-2, as IC 9049. It was rebuilt at Paducah in April 1971 as 8251 and later sold to Twin Cities & Western as 405.  It later was sold to Farmrail Corp as 8251 "Catawba" and marked to Grainbelt.

8254, GP9u, was built in January 1957, #22319, FN 5480-47, as IC 9254.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in September 1971 as 8254 and sold as Chicago Central & Pacific 8254.  In 1996 it was sold as McCoy Elkhorn Coal Corp as 8102 and resold as AT&L 8201.

8259 (GP7u) was built in March 1953, #17742, FN 6497-2, as IC 8959. It was rebuilt at Paducah in October 1970 as 8259 and later sold to MidSouth Rail as 8259. It was later renumbered 1020. It was wrecked on April 28, 1987, and wrecked in June 1987.

8260, GP7u, was built in April 1953, #17736, FN 6496-10, as IC 8977. It was rebuilt at Paducah in February 1971 as 8260 and sold to CC&P as 8260. It was later renumbered 1760.

8268, GP9u, was built in March 1959, #25101, FN 5595-2, as Southern Pacific 5801, Class DF-612.  It was renumbered as 3664, Class EF418-8, in 1966 and sold to General Electric in August 1971.  It was then sold to Precision National Corp in August 1971 and rebuilt at Paducah as ICG 8268 in December 1971.  It was sold as MSR 8268 in August 1986 and renumbered as 1026.  It was retired and sold as LRS Companies 1026.

8270, GP9u, was built in April 1956, #21376, FN 5436-58, as SP 5683, Class DF-607.  It was renumbered 3516, Class EF418-6, in 1966 and rebuilt at Paducah as IC 8270 in December 1971.  It rebuilt as Paducah & Louisville 8324.

8272, GP9u, was built in March 1957, #22700, FN 5502-3, as Detroit Toledo & Ironton 992.  It was rebuilt at Paducah as IC 8272 in 1972 and wrecked on May 19, 1984.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co and rebuilt for Farmrail 8272 "Sac-Fox". It is sub-lettered for Grainbelt.

8273, GP9u, was built in November 1954, #20006, FN 5373-15, by Florida East Coast 665.  It was sold to Precision National Corp on April 12, 1972, and rebuilt at Paducah as ICG 8273 in August 1972.  It was sold as MSR 8273 in April 1986 and renumbered 1019. 

 8274, GP9u, was built in November 1954, #19764, FN 5373-3, as FEC 653.  It was rebuilt at Paducah as ICG 8274 in October 1972 and later sold to Gulf & Ohio as 8274 on March 24, 1994.

8276 (GP9u) was built by General Motors in May 1956, #A729, as Quebec North Shore & Labrador 140, Class DRS17.  It was sold as Bellequip Ltd 140 in 1971 and resold as Precision National Corp 140 in 1972.  It was sold and rebuilt at Paducah as IC 8276 in July 1972.  It was sold as MSR 8276 in April 1986 and renumbered 1020.  It was sold to OmniTrax as 1020 in 1997 and transferred to Carleton Trail Ry as 1020.

8280 (GP9u) was built in December 1955, #21197, FN 5424-16, as Chesapeake & Ohio 5924, Class MRSE-17..  It became Class GP-9 in 1964 and sold to Luntz Steel Corp.  It was rebuilt at Paducah as ICG 8280 in November 1973.  It was sold to Paducah & Louisville 8280 and renumbered 8341.

8282 (GP9u) was built by General Motors in April 1954, #A421, as QNS&L 125, Class DRS17.  It was sold as Bellequip Ltd 125 in 1971 and resold as Precision National Corp 125 in 1972.  It was sold and rebuilt at Paducah as IC 8282 in November 1972.  It was sold as MRS 8272 in April 1986 and renumbered 1018 on March 20, 1987.

8287 (GP9u) was built in January 1957, #22332, as IC 9209.  It was rebuilt at Paducah in October 1973 as 8287.  It was sold in April 1986 as MSR 8287 and renumbered 1030.  It was sold to OmniTrax in 1997 and became OmniTrax Switching 1030.

8295 (GP9u) was built in June 1956, #21717, as C&O 6080, Class MRSE-17. It became Class GP-9 in 1964 and was sold to Luntz Steel Co. It was rebuilt at Paducah in September 1974 as ICG 8295.
