Great Walton RR

4537, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1959, #25164, FN 7568-14, as Chicago & North Western 1770.  It was rebuilt at Oelwein as 4537 on June 22, 1979, and sold to Kramer Diesel Supply in 1992.  It was sold as GRWR 4537.


Hartwell RR

The Hartwell Ry was formed in 1998 to take over the Hartwell RR. It operates 9.6 miles between Hartwell and Elberton where it connects with the Great Walton's former Southern trackage.

2, 44 Ton, was built by General Electric in February 1950, #30253.  It was donated in 1965 to Southeastern Railroad Museum.

7, SW1, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1949, #6405, as New York Central 599, Class DES-5c. It was renumbered 8425, Class ES-6, in 1966 and became Penn Central 8425, Class ES-6, in 1968. It was sold to Amtrak as 243 in 1976 and was later renumbered 730. It later became Washington Terminal Co 730 and then was sold to Hartwell as 7.

454, SD7, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1953, #17907. FN 5212-4, as Bessemer & Lake Erie 454, Class W-5A1.  It was sold as HRT 454.

2257, NW2, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1947, #4757, FN E828-9, as Carolina & North Western 2257.  It was renumbered 1048 in December 1972 and transferred as Southern RR 1048 in 1974.  It was sold as HRT 1048 in 1983 and shortly sold as Babcock & Wilcox Co 049.  It became Koppel Steel Corp 049.

3016, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1963, #28045, FN 7640-3, as Denver & Rio Grande Western 3021, Class DE B-B 61 It was reclassified as Class EF423D-2 and retired on May 30, 1995.  It was sold to Progress Rail Services on November 29, 1995, and sold as HRT 3016 in July 1996.  It was sold to RailServe Inc in October 2012 and rebuilt in 2013 as RSSX 3016, 710ECO Leaf .

3021, GP30, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1963, #28050, FN 7640-8, as D&RGW 3021, Class DE B-B 61.  It was reclassified as Class EF423D-2 and retired on November 25, 1995.  It was sold to Progress Rail Services on November 29, 1995, and sold as HRT 3021 in July 1996.  It was sold as RSSX 3021.

4556, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1957, #22801, as Chicago Rock Island & Pacific 1315.  It was rebuilt at Silvis on June 3, 1977, as 4485 "Manly Centennial" and went to Precision National Corp in April 1980.  It was sold to Chicago & North Western in February 1981 and went in service as 4556 on April 29, 1981.  It was sold as HRT 4556.

4602 was built by Pullman Car Co in 1930, #6336, as Delaware Lackawanna & Western 2602.  It became Erie-Lackawanna 3602 in 1961 and assigned as Consolidated Railroad Corp 3602 in April 1976.  It was assigned as New Jersey Transit 4602 in 1983 and sold as HRT 4602 in 1983.  It was sold as New Georgia RR 1201 in 1984 and sold as Central Western Ry 1201 in 1987.

8395, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1955, #20840, FN 5411-10, as Detroit Toledo & Ironton 987.  It was rebuilt at Paducah as Illinois Central 8395  in 1976 and sold as Atlantic & Gulf 8395 on June 17, 1993.  It was assigned as Knoxville & Holston 8395, Georgia & Florida 8395, and HRT 8395.
