6000-6999

6000, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-7, FN 72640-7, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 177, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered 16 and later Soo Line 6300 in 1985. It was retired in July 1988 and went to the GM lease fleet as 6300 in October 1988. It was rebuilt and renumbered 6000 in March 1991.

6042, SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73676-3, FN 73676-3, as Chicago Rock Island & Pacific 4793.  It was sold as Illinois Central Gulf 6042 in June 1980 and sold as EMDX 6042 in January 1989.  It was sold as Wisconsin & Southern RR 6042 and renumbered 4006.  It became Webb Asset Management as WAMX 4175.

6043, SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73676-4, FN 73676-4, as CRI&P 4793.  It was sold as ICG 6043 in June 1980 and sold as EMDX 6043 in January 1989.  It was sold as WSOR 6043 and renumbered 4005.  It became WAMX 4174.

6044, SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73676-5, FN 736764-5, as CRI&P 4794.  It was sold as ICG 6044 in June 1980 and sold as EMDX 6044 in January 1989.  It was sold as Ohio Central RR 4023.

6045, SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73676-6, FN 736764-6, as CRI&P 4795.  It was sold as ICG 6045 in June 1980 and sold as EMDX 6045 in January 1989.  It was sold as WSOR 6045 and renumbered 4002.  It became WAMX 4171

6046, SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73676-7, FN 73676-7, as CRI&P 4796.  It was sold as ICG 6046 in June 1980 and sold to GM as EMDX 6046 in January 1989.  It was sold as WSOR 6946 and renumbered 4003.  It became WAMX 4172.

6047, SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #73676-8, FN 73676-8, as CRI&P 4797.  It was sold as ICG 6047 in June 1980 and sold to GM as EMDX 6047 in January 1989.  It was sold as WSOR 6047 and renumbered 4004.  It became WAMX 4173.

6049, SD40-2, was built in December 1973, #78676-10, FN 78676-10, as CRI&P 4799.  It was sold as ICG 6049 in June 1980 and sold to GM as EMDX 6049 in January 1989.  It was sold as WSOR 6049 and renumbered 4001.  It became WAMX 4170.

6302, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-9, FN 72640-9, as CMStP&P 179, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered 18 and later Soo Line 6302 in 1985. It was retired in July 1988 and later went to the GM lease fleet as 6302 in October 1988.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co as NREX 6302 and sold to WATCo as WAMX 4122.

6303, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-10, FN 72640-10, as CMStP&P 180, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered 19 and later Soo 6303 in 1985. It was retired in July 1988 and later went to the GM lease fleet as 6303 in October 1988. It was sold as NREX 6303 and sold as WAMX 4123.

6304, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-11, FN 72640-11, as CMStP&P 181, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered 20 and later Soo Line 6304 in 1985. It was retired in July 1988 and later went to the GM lease fleet as 6304 in October 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6304 and sold as WAMX 4124.

6305, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72641-1, FN 72641-1, as CMStP&P 21, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered Soo Line 6305 in 1985 and went to the General Motors lease fleet as EMDX 6305 in July 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6305 and sold as WAMX 4125.

6309, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72641-4, FN 72641-4, as CMStP&P 25, Class 30ERS6.  It became Soo 6309 in 1985 and went to the GM lease fleet as 6309 in July 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6309.

6311, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72643-2, FN 72643-2, as CMStP&P 27, Class 30ERS6.  It became Soo 6311 in 1985 and went to the GM lease fleet as EMDX 6311 in July 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6311.

6313, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72641-9, FN 72641-9, as CMStP&P 29, Class 30ERS6.  It became Soo 6313 in 1985.  In July 1988 it was retired and later went to GM lease fleet as 6413.  It was sold as Georgia Southwestern RR 4000 in 2006 and sold as Columbus & Greenville Ry 3309 in 2010.

6314, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72641-10, FN 72641-10, as CMStP&P 30, Class 30ERS6. It became Soo 6314 in 1985. In July 1988 it went to GM lease fleet as 6314.

6345, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-2, FN 72640-2, as CMStP&P 172, Class 30ERS6.  It was renumbered Soo Line 6345 in 1985.  In July 1988 it was retired and later went to GM lease fleet as EMDX 6345.  It was sold as NREX 6345.

6346, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-3, FN 72640-3, as CMStP&P 173, Class 30ERS6.  It was renumbered Soo Line 6346 in 1985.  In July 1988 it was retired and later went to GM lease fleet as 6346.  It was sold as Georgia Southwestern RR 4001 in 2006 and sold as Columbus & Greenville Ry 3310 in 2010.

6347, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-4, FN 72640-4, as CMStP&P 174, Class 30ERS6.  It was renumbered Soo Line 6347 in 1985.  In July 1988 8t was retired and later went to GM lease fleet as 6347.  It was sold as Wheeling & Lake Erie 6347 in 2000 and rebuilt in December 2013.

6348, SD40-2, was built in July 1973, #72640-5, FN 72640-5, as CMStP&P 175, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered Soo 6348 in 1985. In July 1988 it was retired and later went to GM lease fleet as 6348.

6400, SD40,was built in January 1971, #36998, FN 7290-33, as Penn Central 6272, Class EF-30A.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 6272, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6400.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 for First Union Rail as FURX 3026.

6401, SD40, was built in February 1966, #31311, FN 7862-27, as Pennsylvania RR 6066, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6066, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6319, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as EMDX 6401 and rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3029.

6409, SD40, was built in December 1970, #36925, FN 7290-30, as PC 6273, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6273, Class SD-40. on April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6409.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3034.

6413, SD40, was built in January 1971, #37009, FN 7290-44, as PC 6283, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6283, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6413.  It was sold as Northwestern Pacific Ry 6413 in 2006 and sold as California Northern RR 4098 in 2006.  It was sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

6415, SD40, was built in February 1966, #31315, FN 7862-31, as PRR 6070, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6070, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6323, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as EMDX 6415 and rebuilt by National Railway Equipment as Union Pacific 4769, Class SD40-2, on September 22, 1999.  It was renumbered 2819 on January 5, 2002, and retired on June 6, 2002.  It was sold to Locomotive Leasing Partners as LLPX 2819 in 2002.

6419, SD40, was built in February 1966, #31287, FN 7862-3, as PRR 6042, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6042, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6295, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold  as EMDX 6419 and renumbered 419.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3028, SD40-2.

6427, SD40, was built in January 1971, #36926, FN 7290-31, as PC 6270, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6270, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and sold as EMDX 6427.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3045.

6430, SD40, was built in March 1966, #31349, FN 7862-65, as PRR 6104, Class EF-30A.  It became PC 6104, Class EF-30A, in 1968 and became Conrail 6357, Class SD-40, in April 1976.  It was sold as EMDX 6430 and rebuilt by VMV Enterprises as UP 4774 on November 18, 1999,  It was renumbered 2824 on February 7, 2002.  It was retired on June 6, 2002, and returned as LLPX 2824.

6431, SD40, was built in December 1970, #36903, FN 7290-8 as PC 6247, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6247, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and was as transferred as Conrail Leasing 604.  It was retransferred as Conrail 604, Class SD-40, and sold as EMDX 6431.  It was rebuilt by Alstom in 2000 as FURX 3027

6432, SD40, was built in December 1970, #36905, #FN 7290-10, as PC 6249, Class EF-30A.  It became Conrail 6249, Class SD-40, in April 1976 and transferred as Conrail Leasing Co 806.  It was sold as EMDX 6432 and rebuilt as Belt Ry of Chicago 570, SD38-3.

6500, SD40, was built in June 1966, #32088, FN 5701-1, as Louisville & Nashville 1225, Class SD-40.  It became Seaboard System RR 1225 in January 1983 and renumbered 8301 in 1984.  It became CSX Transportation 8301, Class SD-40, in April 1986 and sold as VMV Entrprises 8301.  It was rebuilt as EMDX 6500 and rebuilt as BRC 574.  It was rebuilt as slug and renumbered BRC 570B.

6501, SD40, was built in April 1969, #34761, FN 7155-4, as L&N 1232, Class SD-40.  It later became SBD 1232 in January 1983 and renumbered 8308 in 1984.  It became CSX 8308, Class SD-40, in April 1986 and sold as VMV 8308.   It was rebuilt as EMDX 6501 and rebuilt to First Union Rail as FURX 3043, SD40-2.  It was sold as Kiamichi RR 3381 in November 2013.

6502, SD40, was built in May 1971, #38205, FN 5787-3, as L&N 1251, Class SD-40.  It became SBD 1251 in January 1983 and renumbered 8327 in 1984.  It became CSX 8327, Class SD-40, in April 1986 and sold as VMV 8327.  It was rebuilt as EMDX 6502 and rebuilt as BRC 573, SD38-3.  It was sold to Cargill Inc as CRGX 573 in 2013.

6504, SD40, was built in May 1971, #38211, FN 5787-9, as L&N 1257, Class SD-40.  It became SBD 1257 in January 1983 and renumbered 8333 in 1984.  It became CSX 8333, Class SD-40, in April 1986 and sold as VMV 8333.  It was rebuilt as EMDX 6504 and rebuilt as BRC 571, SD38-3.

6505, SD40, was built in February 1969, #34744, FN 7152-3, as Clinchfield RR 3011, a SD40.  It later became SBD 8286 in January 1983 and then renumbered 8345 in 1984.  It later became CSX 8345, Class SD-40, in April 1986 and sold as VMV 8345.  It was sold as EMDX 6505 and rebuilt at VMV as Union Pacific 4775 on October 24, 1999, as SD40-2.  It was renumbered 2825 on January 8, 2002, and retired on June 6, 2002.  It was returned as LLPX 2825.

6506, SD40, was built in October 1971, #37538, FN 5776-2, as Clinchfield 3021, a SD40.  It later became SBD 8296 in January 1983 and renumbered 8355 in 1984.  It became CSX 8355, Class SD-40, in April 1986 and sold as VMV 8355.  It was sold as EMDX 6506 and rebuilt as BRC 572, SD38-3.  It was rebuilt as BRC 573B, slug.

6507, SD40-3, was built in June 1971, #37541, FN 5776-5, as Clinchfield 3024. It later became SBD 8299 and then was renumbered 8358, It later became CSX 8358, Class SD-40, and then was sold as VMV 8358. It was rebuilt as EMDX 6507 for the lease fleet and leased as Northshore Mining Co 650.

6508, SD40-3, was built in April 1969, #34782, FN 7159-8, as Chesapeake & Ohio 7504, Class SD-40.  It was renumbered 8363 in 1984 and became CSX 8363, Class SD-40, in 1985.  It was sold as VMV 8363 and rebuilt as EMDX 6508.  It was rebuilt as BRC 575, SD38-3.
