Rail City Museum

 

1 was built by H K Porter in 1921, as Defiance Coal Co 1.  It was retired in 1952 and sold to a dealer at Gallup.  It was sold to Rail City Museum in 1953 and sold to John Degan in 1982.  It was rebuilt for operational condition and sold it to Railroad Museum of Long Island.

11 was built by Alco-Cooke in December 1920, #62635, for stock.  It was sold as Narragansett Pier RR 11 in March 1923.  It was sold as Bath & Hammondsport 11 in April 1938 and retired in 1951.  It was sold to RCM in 1955 and closed in 1972.  It was sold back as Narragansett Pier RR 11 in 1977 but never used and resold as  Middletown & New Jersey 11 in 1982. 

11, motor bus, was built from a White Bus, by Grasse Ruver RR.  It was purchased in 1953.

12 was rebuilt by Sanders Machine Corp in 1915 as Lancaster Oxford & Southern RR 10.  It apparently had been a narrow gauge coach and rebuilt as a standard gauge car in 1918.  It was sold several times and became Grasse River RR 12.  It was sold to RCM in 1953.  It was sold to W. Gotschalk in 1962 and leased as Wolfeboro RR 10 in 1972 until 1980.  It was operated at Lowell National Historic Park between 1980 and 1984,  It was sent to Strasburg RR and restored as LO&S 10 which included a new diesel engine.

38 was built by Baldwin in April 1927, #59946. as Huntington & Broad Mountain RR 38.  It was told to RCM in 1954 and resold as Livonia Avon & Lakeville 38 in March 1968.  It was sold as Gettysburg RR 38 in 1977 and resold as Knox & Kane RR 38.  It was damaged in their fire in  2008  and sold as Everett RR 38  It is now restoration.

49 was built by Alco-Cooke Co in December 1920, #62752, as Solvay Process Co 49.  It was sold as Allied Chemical & Dye Corp 49 in 1947 and sold to Rail City in 1955.  It was sold to Steve Hall at Bedford, PA,

60 was built by Cincinnati Car Co in February 1917, #2130, as  New York State Rys 60.  It was served at Utica and transferred to Rochester.  It became Rochester Transit Co 60 in 1937 and sold to RCM in 1956.  It went to Rochester Chapter NRHS in 1967 and went to Rochester & Genessee Valley Railroad Museum in 1998.

107 was built by Chicago & Joliet Electric Ry in 1910 as 99.  It was sold as Scranton Transit Co 107 in 1933.  It was preserved by RCM  in 1954 and later preserved by Magee Transportation Museum in 1965.  It was then sold to Rockhill Trolley Museumm in 1973.

130 was built by Preston Car Co in 1914 as Niagara St Catharines & Toronto 130.  It was rebuilt in 1947 and retired in 1954.  It was sent to RCM shortly and later sent to MTM about 1970.  Parts were used to restore Lehigh Valley Transit 801 and other parts were sent to Seashore Trolley Museum

505 was built by Osgood-Bradley Co in 1929 as Scranton Transit Co 505.  The frame  was acquired by RCM in 1955 and sent to Magee Trolley Museum in 1965,  It was then sent to Rockhill Trolley Museum in 1973 and then Electric City Trolley Museum.

797 was built by Preston Car & Coach Co in 1915 as Lake Erie & Northern Ry 797.  It was donated to Syracuse Chapter National Railway Historical Society on October 23, 1955, and placed at RCM.  It was later shipped to Seashore Trolley Museum and stored there for many years.  It was then donated to Halton County Radial Railway in July 1999.

19086.  New York Central was acquired in 1954.

"Rolliam", motor car, was built by Grasse River RR from a Model 31 Thomas Flyer Automobile.  It was purchased in 1953.
