Strasburg RailRoad

 

1, HL20, was built by Plymouth in October 1926, #2452.

2 "Dinkey", 18 Ton, was built byPlymouth in 1930, for dam construction.  It was sold as Safe Harbor & Power Co E-126 and resold as Pennsylvania Water & Power Co 2.  It was sold to Strasburg in 1984.

4 was built by Baldwin in March 1903, #21831, as Reading Co 1187, Class A-4b.  It was sold as E&G Brooke Iron Co 4 in 1946 and became Colorado Fuel & Iron Corp  4 in January 1952.  It was sold as Strasburg 4 in 1962.

7 was built as an electric locomotive by General Electric in March 1915, #5068, as University of Michigan no number. In 1949 it was sold to the Warwick Ry as100 who rebuilt it as a diesel switcher 100 in 1954. In August 1959 it became Strasburg RR 100. It was rebuilt in 1960 as 7 and retired in November 1963. It was scrapped in 1977 and parts were sold to the Middletown & Hummelstown RR.

10 was rebuilt by Sanders Machine Corp in 1915 as Lancaster Oxford & Southern RR 10.  It apparently had been a narrow gauge coach and rebuilt as a standard gauge car in 1918.  It was sold several times and became Grasse River RR 12.  It was sold to Rail City Museum in 1953.  It was sold to W. Gotschalk in 1962 and leased as Wolfeboro RR 10 in 1972 until 1980.  It was operated at Lowell National Historic Park between 1980 and 1984,  It was sent to Strasburg and restored as LO&S 10 which included a new diesel engine.

20 was built by Brill-Mack in November 1921, #21368, 60005, as Lewisburg Milton & Watsonburg Passenger Ry. 20. On November 30, 1928, it became Pennsylvania RR 4738. On January 14, 1931, it was sold to the Artemus-Jellico Ry as 1. In 1941 it became Buffalo Creek & Gauley "A". It was sold to Milton in 1967 and came to the Strasburg as 20 in 1977.

31 was built by Baldwin in August 1908, #32894, as Grand Trunk 118, Class F. It was renumbered 1708 in September 1919. In January 1923 it became Canadian National 1708, Class O-9-a, and renumbered 7157 in April 1923.  It was renumbered 7240 in February 1952 and renumbered 7312 in January 1957.  It was purchased by L Swearer in October 1959 and leased by Strasburg in October 1959 and the middle digits became its number.  It was sold as Strasburg 31 in October 1968.

33, 44 Ton, was built by General Electric in July 1948, #29964, as Pennsylvania RR 9331, Class GS-4.  It was sold as Strasburg 33 in 1966 and restored as PRR 9331

89 was built by Canadian Locomotive Co in February 1910, #922, as Grand Trunk RR 1017, Class E-8. It was later rebuilt as 1009, Class E-12, and became Canadian National 911, Class E-10-a, in 1923. It was renumbered 89 in 1951 and sold to Edaville in September 1961.  It was sold to the Green Mountain RR as 89 on April 1, 1965, and in June 1972 it was sold as Strasburg 89.

90 was built by Baldwin in June 1924, #57812, as Great Western Ry 90. It came east in 1967 from Colorado.

475 was built by Baldwin in June 1906, #28343, and was formerly Norfolk & Western 475, Class M.  It was on display at Roanoke in 1960 but sold for scrap to Virginia Scrap Iron & Metal in 1962.  It was sold to William Armagost in 1962 and sold to Pellas Historical Society at Illinois Railway Museum in 1980.  It was sold to C Rosenberg for Boone & Scenic Valley Ry in 1985 and sold to Strasburg in July 1991.  It was restored in November 1993.

972 was built by Montreal in August 1912, #51106, as Canadian Pacific 972, Class D20j. It was retired in January 1966 and sold to George M. Hart.  It was sold to Strasburg RR in 1995 and restoration is planned/

8618, SW8, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1953, #16193, FN 4144-11, as New York Central 9618, Ckass DES-18c.  It was renumbered 8618, Class ES-8, in 1966 and became Penn Central 8618, Class ES-8, in 1968.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corpl 8618, Class SW-8, in April 1976, and and sold to Larry Ttruck Equipment as LTEX 8618 in 2003.  It was sold to North Shore Railroad in 2004 as Lewisburgh & Buffalo Creek RR  1500.  It was sold to Strasburg RR as 8618 in 2008.

Thomas the Tank Engine 1 was built by H K Porter in March 1917, #5966, as Mesta Machine Works 4.  It was sold as Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal 15 and sold as South Appalachia Ry 15 in 1965.  It was sold as Toledo Lake Erie & Western 15 in 1975 and rebuilt at SRR as Thomas the Tank Engine 1 in 1998.

206 was built by Pullman Car Co in 1920 as Delaware Lackawanna & Western 687, an electric multiple unit car.  It was renumbered 2339 in 1930 and became Erie-Lackawanna 3339 in 1961.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 3339 in April 1976 and became New Jersey Transit 4339 in 1983.  It was sold as Strasburg RR 206 and rebuilt as Fort Worth & Western 206 in 1992.  It was assigned as Grapevine Vintage RR 207 in 2005.

207 was built by Pullman Car Co in 1920 as DL&W 702, an EMU.  It was renumbered 2354 in 1930 and became E-L 3354 in 1961.  It became Conrail 3354 in April 1976 and became NJT 4354 in 1983.  It was sold as Strasburg 207 and rebuilt as FWWR 207 in 1992.  It was assigned as GVRR 207 in 2005.

208 was built by Pullman Car Co in 1920 as DL&W 715, an EMU.  It was renumbered 2367 in 1930 and became E-L 3367 in 1961.  It became Conrail 3367 in April 1976 and became NJT 4367 in 1983.  It was sold as Strasburg 208 and rebuilt as FWWR 207 in 1992.  It was assigned as GVRR 208 in 2005.

209 was built by Pullman Car Co in 1920 as DL&W 703, an EMU.  It was renumbered 2355 in 1930 and became E-L 3355 in 1961.  It became Conrail 3355 in April 1976 and became NJT 4355 in 1983.  It was sold as Strasburg 209 and rebuilt as FWWR 209 in 1992.  It was assigned as GVRR 209 in 2005.

150 is a hopper.
