Railroad Museum of Long Island

 

1 was built by H K Porter in 1921, as Defiance Coal Co 1.  It was retired in 1952 and sold to a dealer at Gallup.  It was sold to Rail City Museum in 1953 and sold to John Degan in 1982.  It was rebuilt for operational condition and sold it to RMLI.

16 was built by H K Porter in January 1923, #6780, as Astoria Light Heat & Power Co 5.  It was sold to Fleischmann Transportation and to Birmingham Rail & Locomotive Co.  It was sold as Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal  16 on January 13, 1939, and sold to George Foster in 1963 but never moved.  It was thought to be purchased by several groups but it ended up at RMLI in 1999.

39, Class G-5s, was built at Juniata in July 1929, #4207, as Long Island RR 39, Class G-5s.  It was donated to RMLI  in October 1956.  It has been trying to restore it since 1975 and stored for service at Strasburg, PA.

200, Class T-62, was built by Pennsylvania RR in 1932, as Long Island 200.  It was donated to Railroad Museum of Long Island in 1979.

399, 25 Ton, Class GS-1, was built by General Electric in August 1958, #33375, as Long Island RR 399, Class GS-1.  It was donated to Railroad Museum of Long Island in 2005.

1556, RS3, Class AGP-15msc, was built in September 1955, #81355, as Long Island RR 1556, Class AGP-15msc.  It was sold as  Gettysburg RR 56 and resold as Maryland Midland RR 303.  It was renumbered 56.  It went to RMLI in 1986 and restored as LI 1556.

2924, Class P-72. was built by Osgood-Bradley in June 1955, as Long Island 2924.  It was retired in 1999 and donated to RMLI.

7737, Class BM-62, was rebuilt from 737, Class BM60B.  It was used for storage by the MOW department and later donated to RMLI

9547, Class M-1, was built by Budd in 1968 as Long Island RR 9547.  It was acquired by RMLI  in 2006.

9548, Class M-1, was built by Budd in 1968, as LIRR 9548.  It was acquired by RMLI in 2006.
