New York Museum of Transportation

 

2 was built by Brill in January 1923, #21712, as Philadelphia Rapid Transit C125.  It became Philadelphia Transportation Co in 1931.  It was acquired by Pennsylvania Trolley Museum and renumbered as 2 in 1974.  It was then acquired as NYMT 2 in 2009/

7 was built by St Louis Car Co in December 1946, #1653, as Twin City Rapid Transit 326.  It was sold to Public Service of New Jersey as 7 on March 30, 1953, and became New Jersey Transit 7 in 1971.  It was purchased by City of Bayonne in 2005 and acquired by NYMT in 2014..

8 was built by Delaware Lackawanna & Western in 1914.  It was sold to Genesee & Western as 8 in 1934.  It was donated to NYMT in 1977 and partial restoration has been attempted.

021, line car tower car, was built by Cleveland Transit System in 1953.  It became Great Cleveland Regional Transit in 1975 and acquired by Trolleyville with no date.  It was tsken by Lake Shore Electric Ry in 2006 and purchased from NYMT in 2009.

33 was built by Kuhlman Car Co in 1911, #509, as Warren Street Ry 33.  It was sold as Batavia Traction Co 33 in 1924  and retired in 1927.  The body was sold as a cabin and acquired by NYMT in 1980

34 was built by Brill Car Co in 1905, #14670, as Hornellsville Electric Ry 34.  It became Hornell Traction Co in 1910.  It was retired 1926 and became a shed at Dansville, NY.  The body was acquired by NYMT in 1998.

55 was built by Stephenson Car Co in 1867 as City of Rochester & Brighton Ry 55.  It was apparently it was it restored in 1934 for the Rochester Centennial.  It later it was acquired by Magee Trolley Museum in 1970  and went to NYMT.

107 was built by Jewett Car Co in 1911, as Elmira Corning & Waverly Ry 107.  It was retired in 1930 and sold as a cabin with trucks and all underbody.  It was acquired by MTM in 1970  and went to NYMT.

C130 was built by Brill in 1923, #21711, as  PRT E217, plow.  It was rebuilt as C130 in 1925 and became PTC C130 in 1931.  It was acquired by NYMT in 1975.

157 was built by Niles Car in 1914 as New York State Rys 157.  It was retired in 1932 and it was acquired  by Magee in 1970.  It was then acquired by NYMT in 1973.

161 was built by Brill in June 1927, #22529, as Philadelphia & Western Ry 61.  It was rebuilt as 161 in 1931 and became Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Co 161 in 1948.  It became SEPTA 161 in 1970.  It was sold to Keokuk Junction Ry as Trans-Mississippi Trolley Co 161 in 1991 which had a stepwell added.  It was sold to NYMT in 1996

168 was built by Brill in 1929, #22773, as P&W 68.  It was rebuilt as 168 in 1931 and became PST 168 in 1948.  It became SEPTA 168 in 1970.  It was sold as TMT 168 in 1991 which had a stepwell added.  It was sold to New York Museum of Transportation in 1996.

206 was built by Niles Car in 1908, #163, as Buffalo Lockport & Rochester RR 206 and became Rochester Lockport in 1919.  It was retired in 1932 and the body was sold.  It was acquired by Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum in 1999 and sold to NYMT in 2009.

409 was built by St Louis Car in 1919, Order #1197, as Northern Texas Traction Co 409.  It was upgraded to Crimson Limited in 1925 and sold as a home in 1934.  It was acquired by Old Spaghetti Warehouse and sent to Rochester NY in 1988  and donated to NYMT in 1996.

437 was built by Kuhlman Car Co in 1904, #259,as Rochester Ry 437.   It became New York State Ry 437 in1909 and rebuilt in 1917 and retired in 1936.  The body was saved as a lake cabin and acquired by NYMT in 1997.

1402 was built by Kuhlman Car Co in 1904, #240, as Rochester & Suburban unknown number, open car.  It became Rochester Ry unkown number in 1905 and became NYSRy unknown number in 1909.  It was rebuilt as 1402, center door trailer, in 1920 and retired in 1935.  It was sold as a private owner and donated to NYMT in 2004.

1406, New York State Rys.  There was no info except that was a body acquired by NYMT in the 1970s and scrapped in the 1980s.

0243 was built by John Stephenson Car Co in 1891 as Rochester Ry 162, streetcar.  It became New York State Ry 162 in 1909 and rebuilt as 0243, sand car, in 1918.  It became Rochester Transit Co in 1937 and preserved by Rochester Museum of Arts and Sciences in 1941.  It was acquired by NYMT in 1987.

L2, ML8, was built by Plymouth Locomotive in 1937, #3947, as Rochester Transit Co L2.  It was sold to Atkins Waste Materials in 1957 and donated to NYMT in 1977.
