Delaware Short Lines and Industrial Railroads

 

CitiSteel USA

9085, S4, was built by Alco in May 1956, #81867, as Baltimore & Ohio 9085, Class DS-5a.  It was reclassified Class SA-3 in 1957.  It was reclassified in 1964 as Class S-4, and sold to George Silcott Co on March 3, 1976. It was sold as Allied Chemical Corp 2B and resold as Depew Lancaster & Western RR 9085 in 1989.  It was sold as CitiSteel 9085 in 1992.


Delaware Car Co.

204 was built by Brill in 1931, #22932, as Philadelphia & Western R 204.  It became Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Co 204 in 1948 and Southeastern Pennnsylvania Transportation Authority 204 in 1970.  It was sold  as body to DCCo in 1986 and acquired by Museum of Transportation in 1996.


Delaware Coast Line RR

2, RS36, was built by Alco in October 1962, #84393, was built as Atlantic & Danville and became Norfolk Franklin & Danville  in 1962.  It was sold as DCL 2 and sold to Sterling Rail in 2018.  It was sold as Southern New England 5012 in 2018 but not in service until 2020.   It was leased to Batten Kill RR.

6, 40 Ton, was built by Plymouth in 1935, #3797, as E I duPont de Nemoirs Corp 6.  It was sold as Meramec Sand & Gravel Co 5 and sold as DCL 6.

10, 35 Ton, was built by General Electric as Delaware Power & Light Co, unknown number.  It became Delmarva Power and sold as DCL 10.

200, C420, was built by Alco in December 1963, #84722, as Long Island RR 200, Class AGP-20msc.  It was sold as Virginia & Maryland RR 200 and transferred as Eastern Shore RR 200 "Canonie".  It was sold as DCL 200 and sold as Livonia Avon & Lakeville 420 in 1995.

1201, RS3M, was built by Alco in March 1952, #79667, as Delaware Lackawanna & Western 911.  It became Erie Lackawanna 1049, Class MFSA-16D-4, in 1960 and in April 1976 it became Consolidated Railroad Corp 5265, Class RS-3. It was rebuilt in September 1978 as 9999, Class RS-3M. It was later sold to DCL as 1201 and later as Maryland & Delaware 1201  in March 1989.

1202, RS3, was built by Alco in March 1950, #78077, as DL&W 902.  It became EL 1040, Class MFSA-16D-4, in 1960 and in April 1976 it became Conrail 5256, Class RS-3.  It was rebuilt in June 1979 as 9926, Class RS-3M, and retired on April 9, 1985.  It was later sold to DCL as 1202 and later Ma & Del 1202.

8651, SW900m, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1938, #783, as Lehigh Valley NW1, Class BB-5.  It was reclassified Class DS-5 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive on May 28, 1955.  It was reclassified Class ESM-9, and became  Consolidated Railroad Corp 8651, Class SW-900, in April 1976.  It was sold as DCL 8651 and resold as Landisville RR 8651 in December 1988.


Delaware Power & Light Co.

Delmarva Power

No number, 35 Ton, was built by General Electric as Delaware Power & Light Co.  It became Delmarva Power and sold as Delaware Coast Line RR 10.

2, 45 Ton, was built by General Electric in December 1949, #30488.  It was sold as Eastern Scrap Recycling Co 2.
