Electro-Motive SW900 Diesels
8632, Class SW-900, was built in December 1956, #20936, FN 4322-2, as New York Central 9632. It was renumbered as 8632, Class ES-9, in 1966 and then became Penn Central 8632, Class ES-9. It became Conrail 8632, Class SW-900, in April 1976. It was later sold to ConAgra Inc as 001.
8638, Class SW-900, was built in December 1956, #20942, FN 4322-8, as NYC 9638. It was renumbered 8638, Class ES-8, in 1966, and became PC 8638, Class ES-6, in 1968. It became Conrail 8638, Class SW-900. It was sold as Pocono Northeast Ry PNER 901 in 1982 and sold Anheuser Busch no number. It was sold as Manufactures Ry 001 and resold as Bulkmatic de Mexico 001.
8643, Class SW-900, was built in December 1956, #20947, FN 4321-1, as NYC 9643. It was renumbered 8643, Class ES-9, in 1966, and became PC 8643, Class ES-9, in 1968. It became Conrail 8643, Class SW-900, in April 1976, and retired on September 25, 1990. It was later sold to Larry's Truck Equipment as 8643.
8646, Class SW-900, was built in December 1956, #20950, FN 4321-4, as NYC 9646. It was renumbered 8646, Class ES-9, in 1966, and became PC 8646, Class ES-9, in 1968. It became Conrail 8646m Ckass SW-900, in April 1976, and sold as Daimler Chrysler Co-Indianapolis Foundry 8646.
8649, Class SW-900, was built in April 1938, #785, FN E180-1, a Lehigh Valley 122, a NW1, Class BB-5. It was reclassified Class DS-5 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive on September 12, 1956, #785, FN 7531-3. It was reclassified Class ES-9 and became Conrail 8649, Class SW-900, in April 1976. It was scrapped in 1987.
8650, Class SW-900, was built April 1938, #786, FN E180-2, as LV 123, a NW1, Class BB-5. It was reclassified Class DS-5 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive on June 1958, #24484, FN 7564-2. It was reclassified Class ES-9 and became Conrail 8650, Class SW-900, in April 1976. It was scrapped in 1987.
8651, Class SW-900, was built in May 1938, #783, FN E197-1, as LV 124, a NW1, Class BB-5. It was reclassified Class DS-5 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive on May 28, 1955, FN 7523-1. It was reclassified Class ESM-9, and became Conrail 8651, Class SW-900, in April 1976. It was sold as Delaware Coast Line RR 8651 and resold as Landisville RR 8651 in December 1988.
8652, Class SW-900, was built in May 1938, #784, FN E197-2, as LV 125, a NW1, Class BB-5. It was reclassified Class DS-5 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive in August 1957, #23539, FN 7545-2. It was later reclassified Class ESM-9, and became Conrail 8652, Class SW-900, in April 1976. It was sold as Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority 8652.
8653, Class SW-900, was built in May 1938, #781, FN E183-1, as LV 126, a NW1, Class BB-5. It was reclassified Class DS-5 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive on July 19, 1956, FN 7531-2, It was later reclassified Class ESM-9 and became Conrail 8653, Class SW-900, in April 1976. It was sold as Reddinger Coal Co 8653 in 1988 and transferred as Kittanning Freeport Coal 8653. It was returned as RCCo in 1982 and sold as Lady Jane Colliery 8653 in September 1993. It was renumbered 126 and sold as Kiski Junction RR 126 in 2013.
8657, Class SW-900, was built in September 1938, #831, FN E211-1, as LV 130, a NW1,
Class BB-5. It was reclassified Class DS-5 and rebuilt by Electro-Motive in May
1957, #23538, FN 7545-1. It was later reclassified Class ESM-9 and then became Conrail
8657, Class SW-900, in April 1976..
It was sold to
Pecos Valley Southern
as 9 but the headlight numbers were still there.
8712, SW900m, Class SW-900, was built by Baldwin in January 1944, #70134, as Reading 76, VO1000, Class OE-10. It was rebuilt by Electro-Motive in December 1963, #28418, FN 7665-2. as Reading 1512, Class SWE-4, and became Conrail 8712, Class SW-900, in April 1976. It was sold to WATCo as WAMX 8712.
