Massachusetts Central RR

401, 44 Ton, was built by Whitcomb in October 1940, #60034, as United States Army 7224.  It was sold as MCER 401.

957, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1954, #18766, FN 5308-3, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 2402, Class 17.5E-RS. In 1959 it was renumbered 215 and then renumbered 255. It was rebuilt at West Milwaukee in September 1973 as 957, Class 20E-RS, and later became Soo Line RR 957 and was assigned, but never renumbered as 4311.  It was sold to General American Transportation Co in August 1990 and then to York Ry 957 in 1991.  It was sold to MCER as 957 in 1992.  It was wrecked on June 4, 1994, at Forest Lake Junction, MA, and scrapped at Hardwick, MA, in February 1995.

960, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in November 1954, #20030, FN 5372-2, as CMStP&P 2389, Class 17.5E-RS. In 1959 it was renumbered 239 and rebuilt at West Milwaukee in July 1973 as 960, Class 20E-RS. It later became Soo Line RR 960 and was sold to General American Transportation in August 1990. It later became Octoraro RR 960 and then was sold to MCER as 960.

1728 GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1957, #23226, FN 7549-1, as Boston & Maine 1728, Class DRS-4a.  It was transferred as Springfield Terminal RR 66 and sold as MCER 1728 in 1966.  It was sold as Raritan Central Ry 1728 in 2003.  It was sold to Larry's Truck Electric Co in 2014.

2002, M420R, was built by Montreal in August 1973, #M6075-02, as Providence & Worcester RR 2002, Class MRS20a.  It was sold as MCER 2002 and resold as Maine Coast RR 2002.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co in 2003 and sold as Great Western RR of Canada 2002 in 2005.

2004, M420R, was built by Montreal in May 1975, #M6086-02, as PW 2004, Class MRS20b.  It was sold as MCER 2004 and resold as MCRR 2004.  It was sold to National Ry Eqpt in 2003 and sold as GWRS 2004 in 2005.

2069, GP7u, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1952, #17643, FN 5219-20, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 2832, Class 2650.  It was rebuilt in May 1974 at Cleburne as 2069, Class 2050.  It was sold to Helm Leasing in July 1989 and sold as MCER 2069 in September 1989.  It was sold as Great Western Ry 2069 and transferred as Panhandle Northern RR 2069 in 1993.

2100, NW5, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1947, #3615, FN E698-1, as Southern Ry 2100. It came to MCER as 2100 in 1980.

2443, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1952, #17434, FN 6454A-1, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 306L, Class 300.   It was renumbered 333L, Class 325 in March 24, 1973, and retired on September 30, 1976.  It was rebuilt at Cleburne on August 25, 1977, as 2443, Class 2417.  It was sold to Blue Mountain & Reading  on July 11, 1984 and sold as Massachusetts Central RR 2443 in September 1984.  It later was resold as Bay Colony Ry 2443 in January 1996.  It was sent to Grafton & Upton RR In April 2008 and repainted as GU 1500 in November 2009.  It was scrapped in August 2021.

4243, C424, was built by Alco in June 1964, #3381-04, as Spokane Portland & Seattle 303.  It became Burlington Northern 4243, Class C-424, on March 1, 1970, and sold to Chrome in September 1980.  It was sold as Kyle 4243 in February 1982 and sold to A&M.  It was sold to T J Lindstead Rail Service  in October 1994 and sold as MCRR 4243 in December 1996.  It was sold to Thomas Carver Rail in September 1999 and leased as Adirondack Scenic RR 4243 in October 2000.  It was returned to Thomas in October 2010 and sold as Delaware Lackawanna 2403.

4258, C425, was built by Alco in May 1966, #3461-01, as SP&S 318. It became BN 4258, Class C-425, in 1970. It was retired and sold to Chrome in August 1980, and then to Kyle as 4258. It was later sold to A&M for parts  It was sold as MCRR 4258 and sold as Shoreline Locomotive 2556.  It was sold as Bay Colony Ry 2501 and transferred as Seminole Gulf RR 550.  It was sold as Western New York & Pennsylvania RR 428.

4264, C425, was built by Alco in June 1966, #3461-07, as SP&S 324.  It became BN 4264, Class C-425, in 1970.  It was retired and sold to Chrome in August 1980, and then to Kyle as 4264.  It was later sold as Arkansas & Missouri 4264 and sold as MCRR 4264.  It was sold as Pook Valley Leasing 4264 and sold as Morristown & Erie RR 4264.  It was sold as WNY&P 4264.
