Nevada State Railroad Museum

Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Co."Glenbrook" 1 was built by Baldwin Locomotive in March 1875, #3712, as  Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Co."Glenbrook".  It was numbered 2 in 1890 and transferred as Lake Tahoe Ry & Transportation Co 1 in January 1899.  It was sold to Nevada County Narrow Gauge RR in 1936 but never operated it.  It was sold to Hope & Will Bliss in 1942 and donated to NSRM

Dayton Sutro & Carson Valley RR 1, "Joe Douglass" was built by H K Porter in February 1882, #513.  It was acquired by Lake Arrowhead Development Co in about 1904 and was placed on display.  It  was sold to a series of several owners until it was acquired by NSRM in 1984.  I has been on display ever since.

Virginia & Truckee 2nd 1 "Lyon" has been under construction beginning by Strasburg RR in 2002 for the NSRM.

Dardanelle & Russellville 8 was built by Cooke Locomotive in February 1888, #1861, as Denver Texas & Fort Worth 9.  It became Fort Worth & Denver City 114 in 1890 and sold as D&R 8 in September 1907.  It was sold to Twentieth Century Fox for movies in 1944 and sold as Shortline Enterprises 8 in February 1971.  It was operated as Virginia & Truckee RR 28 in 1975 and later stored as NSRM 8.

Southern Pacific 8, Class T, was built by Baldwin in August 1907, #31445, as Nevada-California-Oregon 4, It was renumbered 8 in 1910 and sold to SP as 8 in September 1929. It was donated to the State of Nevada on May 9, 1955, and owned as Nevada State Railroad Museum.  It was leased for display at Sparks in 1986.

Virginia & Truckee 18 "Dayton" was built by Central Pacific Sacramento Shop in September 1873, #6.  It was sold to Paramount Pictures in September 1938 and starred on "Union Pacific" as 58 and appeared in various movies.  It was leased to National Parks Service as Union Pacific 119 in 1969 and sold to NSRM as V&T 18.

Virginia & Truckee 22 "Inyo" was built by Baldwin in February 1875, #3693.  It was sold to Paramount Pictures in March 1937 and appeared in various movies.  It was leased to National Parks Service as Central Pacific 60 "Jupiter" in 1969 and sold to State of Nevada as V&T 22.

Virginia & Truckee 25 was built by Baldwin in January 1905, #25016.  It was sold to RKO Radio Pictures Inc in April 1947 and resold as Desilu Productions Inc in January 1958.  It was to Hurlbut Amusements Co in January 1964 and sold to State of Nevada in August 1971.

Virginia & Truckee 27 was built by Baldwin in March 1913, #39453.  It was sold to Purdy Co in June 1950 and donated to State of Nevada.  It was restored as a static display at the NSRM and sent to the Comstock History Center in 2018/

NSRM 99 "Dinky" was built by Davenport Locomotive Works about 1924.  It was purchased from Short Line Enterprises in 1988 and there is no good history.

Vermillion Sugar Co 216. was built by Baldwin in February 1887, #8395, as Union Pacific 737.  It was sold as Texas & New Orleans 246, Class E-62, in April 1902 and renumbered 216. Class E-21,  in 1913.  It was sold as Erath Sugar Co Ltd 216 in December 1929 and became Vermillion Sugar Co 216 in August 1947.  It was sold to F Nelson Blount in 1957 and became part of Steamtown in 1965.  It moved to Scranton in October 1985.  It was donated to NSRM and then donated to  Feather River Railroad Museum.  It was sold to Double T Agricultural Museum in 2003 and restored as Southern Pacific 216.
