6000-6999

 

6302, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1973, #72640-9, FN 72640-9, as Chicago Milwaukee St Paul & Pacific 179, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered 18 and later Soo Line 6302 in 1985. It was retired in July 1988 and later went to the General Motors lease fleet as 6302 in October 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6302 and sold to WATCo as WAMX 4122.

6303, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1973, #72640-10, FN 72640-10, as CMStP&P 180, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered 19 and later Soo Line 6303 in 1985. It was retired in July 1988 and later went as EMDX 6303 in October 1988. It was sold as NREX 6303 and sold as WAMX 4123.

6304, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1973, #72640-11, FN 72640-11, as CMStP&P 181, Class 30ERS6. It was renumbered 20 and became Soo Line 6304 in 1985. It was retired in July 1988 and later went as EMDX 6304 in October 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6304 and sold as WAMX 4124.

6305, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1973, #72641-1, FN 72641-1, as CMStP&P 21, Class 30ERS6. It became Soo 6305 in 1985 and went to the GM lease fleet as EMDX 6305 in July 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6305 and sold as WAMX 4125..

6309, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1973, #72641-4, FN 72641-4, as CMStP&P 25, Class 30ERS6.  It became Soo 6309 in 1985 and went as EMDX 6309 in July 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6309.

6311, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1973, #72643-2, FN 72643-2, as CMStP&P 27, Class 30ERS6.  It became Soo 6311 in 1985 and went to the GM lease fleet as EMDX 6311 in July 1988.  It was sold as NREX 6311.

6338, SD40, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1967, #33519, FN 7073-4, as Colorado & Southern 878.  It was renumbered 6338, Class SD-40, in August 1979.  It became Burlington Northern 6338, Class SD-40, in January 1982 and retired in August 1986.  It was sold to NRE as 6338 in April 1987 and sold to Morrison Knudsen Corp as MKCX 9412 in 1994.  It was sold to Helm Leasing Corp as HLCX 6222 in 1996 and rebuilt as HLCX 6318, SD40M-2.  It was sold as New Brunswick Southern Ry 6318 in May 2014. .

6345, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motivein July 1973, #72640-2, FN 72640-2, as CMStP&P 172, Class 30ERS6.  It was renumbered Soo Line 6345 in 1985.  In July 1988 it was retired and later went to GM lease fleet as EMDX 6345.  It was sold as NREX 6345.

6435, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1968, #33657, FN 7082-26, as Southern Pacific 8960, Class EF636-3.  It was sold as NHL 6435, and sold to Morrison Knudsen as MKCX 9526.  It was sold to Helm Leasing Corp as HLCX 7005.  It was sold as Wisconsin Central Ltd 6637 and rebuilt as 7637.

6452, SD45-2 was built by Electro-Motive in May 1972, #7391-6, FN 7361-6, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 5630, Class 5625.  It was rebuilt at San Bernardino in February 1986 as 7202, Class 7200, and renumbered 5802, Class 5800, in 1987.  It became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 6452, Class SD45-2, on July 31, 2000, and retired on December 17, 2002.  It was sold as NREX 6452 in July 2003.

6454, SD45-2, was built by Electro-Motive  in May 1972, #7391-38, FN 7391-38, as AT&SF 5660, Class 5625.  It was rebuilt at San Bernardino in March 1986 as 7204, Class 7200, and renumbered 5804, Class 5800, in September 1986.  It became BNSF 6454, Class SD45-2, on January 8, 2000.  It was retired in July 2002 and sold as NREX 6454.

6481,SD45-2, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1973, #72642-19, FN 72642-19, as AT&SF 5662, Class 5625.  It was rebuilt at San Bernardino in August 1986 as 5831, Class 5800, and become BNSF 6481, Class SD45-2, on August 11, 1998.  It was retired on December 19, 2002, and sold as NREX 6484 in September 2004.

6483, SD45-2, was built by Electo-Motive in May 1972, #7391-10, FN 7391-10, as AT&SF 5634, Class 5625.  It was rebuilt at San Bernardino in August 1986 as 5833, Class 5800, and became BNSF 6483, Class SD45-2, on February 1, 1998.  It was sold as NREX 6483 in 2003 and resold to Progress Rail Services as PRLX 6483 in 2009.

6499, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1971, #37107, FN 5773-2, as Burlington Northern 6499, Class SD-45. It was sold to NRE as 6499 in April 1987 and later to Wisconsin Central Ltd as 6499. It was later renumbered 6503 in 1993.  It was retired and scrapped.

6505, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1971, #37113, FN 5773-8, as BN 6505, Class SD-45. It was retired in February 1986 and was returned to the leasor in August 1986,  It was sold to NRE in September 1987. They resold it to WCLtd as 6505 in December 1987. It was later rebuilt as 7505.

6507, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1971, #37115, FN 5773-10, as BN 6507, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE as 6507 in September 1987. They resold it to WCLtd as 6507 in December 1987. It was later rebuilt as 7507.

6510, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1971, #37118, FN 5773-13, as BN 6510, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE as 6510 in September 1987. They sold it to WCLtd as 6510 in December 1987. It was later renumbered 6509 and then rebuilt as 7509.

6511, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1971, #37119, FN 5773-14, as BN 6511, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE as 6511 in April 1987. They resold it to WCLtd as 6511 in December 1987. It was later renumbered 6510 and then rebuilt as 7510.

6517, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #37125, FN 5773-20, as BN 6517, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in April 1987. They resold it to WCLtd as 6517 in December 1987. It was later renumbered 6511 and then rebuilt as 7511.

6522, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #37130, FN 5773-25, as BN 6522, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in April 1987, It was sold to WCLtd as 6522 in December 1987.

6524, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #37132, FN 5773-27, as BN 6524, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in April 1987. It was sold to WCLtd as 6524 in December 1987.

6524, SD50, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1984, #837073-4, FN 837073-4, as Alabama Great Southern 6524.  It was sold as NRE 6524.

6526, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #37134, FN 5773-29, as BN 6526, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in April 1987. It was sold to WCLtd as 6526 in December 1987,

6531, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in July 1971, #37139, FN 5773-34, as BN 6531, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in April 1987. It was sold to WCLtd as 6531 in December 1987.

6532, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1971, #37140, FN 5773-35, as BN 6532, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in April 1987. It was sold to WCLtd as 6532 in December 1987.

6533, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1971, #37141, FN 5773-36, as BN 6533, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in Apri 1987. It was sold to WCLtd as 6533 in December 1987.

6534, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1971, #37142, FN 5773-37, as BN 6534, Class SD-45.  It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold as NHL 6534 in April 1987.  It was sold to WCLtd as 6534 in December 1987.  It was renumbered 6521.  It was retired and scrapped.

6535, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1971, #37143, FN 5773-38, as BN 6535, Class SD-45. It was returned to the leasor in August 1986 and sold to NRE in April 1987. It was sold to WCLtd as 6535 in December 1987.

6545, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in March 1971, #37193, FN 7301-5, as Baltimore & Ohio 3769, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6545 and became CSX Transportation 6545, Class GP-40.  It was retired on December 9, 1992.  It was sold as NRE 6545 on February 15, 1993, and rebuilt by Morrison Knudson Corp as 4303 on January 24, 1994, and leased to Bangor & Aroostook.  It was repossessed by Helm Atlantic on December 15, 2000, and sold as Paducah & Louisville 4303 in January 2001.  It was rebuilt as 2111 in May 2001.

6564, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1968, #34279, FN 7125-3, as Penn Central 6237, Class EF-36.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 6237, Class SD-45, in April 1976 and to Chicago & North Western where it became 6564 on January 30, 1984.  It was sold as NREX 6564 in June 1994 and rebuilt as Tacoma Rail 3001, SD40R, in 2001.

6570. SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1971, #39366, FN 5788-1, as Colorado & Southern 868.  It was renumbered 6570, Class SD-45, in August 1979 and became Burlington Northern 6570, Class SD-45, in January 1981.  It was retired in December 1986 and sold as NRE 6570 in March 1987.  It was then sold to Morrison Knudsen Corp as MKCX 9527 and later Helm Leasing Corp as HLCX 6521.

6576, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1969, #34551, FN 7147-1, as Chicago Burlington & Quincy 516, SD45. In 1970 it became BN 6467, Class SD-45, and was returned to the leasor in February 1984. It was sold to Chicago & North Western and became 6576 on August 12, 1984. It was sold to NRE in June 1994 as 6576 and then was rebuilt as Southern Pacific 8612.

6582, SD45, was built by Electro-Motive in June 1969, #34558, FN 7147-8, as CB&Q 522, SD45. In 1970 it became BN 6463, Class SD-45, and was returned to the leasor in February 1984. It was sold to C&NW and became 6582 on September 17, 1984. It was sold tp NRE in June 1994 as 6582 and then was rebuilt as SP 8668.  It was assigned UP 4694 and became UP 2744 on June 12, 2003.  It was retired on October 12, 2010, and sold as NREX 2744 in April 2014.

6634, SD18R, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1959, #25606, FN 5605-9, as Southern Ry 2510, SD24.  It was renumbered 6329 in 1972.  It was retired in June 1978 and sold to Precision National Corp.  It became PNC 6329 and rebuilt in 1979 as 1829.  It was sold to C&NW as 6634 in March 1982 and retired on October 30, 1997.  It was sold as NRE 6634 in October 1997 and leased as Wisconsin & Southern 6634 in 1998.  It was returned to NRE and sold as Ag Processing Inc 6634.  It was sold as DeBruce Grain Co 6634 in 2011.

6635, F45, was built by Electro-Motive in April 1971, #37175, FN 5774-10, as Burlington Northern 6635, Class F-45. It was retired in June 1986 and sold to National Railway Equipment Co as NRL 6635. It was sold to Transisco Rail Services Co as 1003 and later was sold to Wisconsin & Southern as 1003. It later was sold to Montana Rail-Link as 393.

6641, SD18R, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1959, #25621, FN 5605-2, as New Orleans & North Eastern 6950, as SD24.  It became Southern 6344 in 1971 and sold as PNC 6344 and rebuilt in 1979 as 1844.  It was sold to C&NW as 6641 in March 1982 and sold to National Railway Equipment Co in October 1997.  It was leased as W&S 6641 in 1998 and returned to NRE.  It was sold as AGP 6641 and assigned as Floyd Valley Grain LLC.

6842, GP40, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1971, #38567, FN 7340-25, as  Chesapeake & Ohio 4087, Class GP-40.  It was renumbered 6842 and became CSX Transportation 6842, Class GP-40.  It was sold as National Railway Equipment Co 6842 and rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen Corp as 4305.  It was sold to Progress Rail as PRLX 4305 in 2007.

6910, SD40-2, was built by Electro-Motive in February 1975, #74661-20, as C&NW 6910. It was wrecked on September 13, 1986, as LaMoille, MN, and retired on November 19, 1987. In February 1990 it was sold to NRE. They rebuilt the locomotive and used it in their national lease fleet as 6910. In June 1994 it was sold to Canadian Pacific as 5447. In February 1998 it was transferred to St Lawrence & Hudson as 5447. In 1999 it was sold to East Coast Motive Power and then sold to First Union Rail. It was rebuilt at GEC-Alsthom in 2000 as 3012.
