Alco C424 Diesels

2415, Class C-424, was built in 1960  as Alco demonstrator 640-1. It was rebuilt in September, 1963, #84558, as Pennsylvania RR 2415, Class AF24A. It became Penn Central 2415, Class AF-24A, in 1968, and Conrail 2474, Class C424, in April 1976. It was sold to GE Hornell and rebuilt.  It was sold to Green Bay & Western in January 1980 and entered service as 319 on February 8, 1980. It became Wisconsin Central  319 in 1993 and sold as  Caddo Antoine & Little Missouri 319 in 1994.  It was then sold as Livonia Avon & Lakeville 429 in 2002

2475, Class C-424, was built on May 29, 1963, #84543, as Erie Lackawanna 2401, Class MFA-24D-6.  It became Conrail 2475, Class C-424, and rebuilt by General Electric in May 1980 as Delaware & Hudson 451, Class ARS-24m.  It became Springfield Terminal RR 70 and returned as D&H 70.  It was sold as LA&L 425 in 1997.

2479, Class C-424, was built in May 1963, #84547, as EL 2405, Class MFA-24D-6.  It became Conrail 2479, Class C-424, in April 1976 and rebuilt by General Electric Hornell in May 1980 as D&H 462, Class ARS-24m.  It was as Genesee & Wyoming 62 in September 1985 and sold as Minnesota Commercial RR 62 in September 1992.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Co.

2480, Class C-424, was built in May1963, #84548, as EL 2406, Class MFA-24D-6.  It became Conrail 2480, Class C-424, in April 1976 and rebuilt by General Electric Hornell in May 1980 as D&H 453, Class ARS-24m.  It became ST 72 and returned as D&H 72.  It was transferred as Maine Central  453.

2481, Class C-424, was built in May  1963, #84549, as EL 2407, Class MFA-24D-6.  It became Conrail 2481, Class C-424, in April 1976 and rebuilt by General Electric Hornell in 1980 as D&H 454, Class ARS-24m.  It became ST 73 and returned as D&H 73.  It was transferred as MeC 454 and sold as LA&L 423 in 2997.

2486, Class C-424, was built in June 1963, #84554, as EL 2412, Class MFA-24D-4. In April 1976 it became Conrail 2486, Class C424. It was sold to GE Hornell and rebuilt.  It was sold to GB&W in January 1980 and entered service as 320 on March 19, 1980. It became Wisconsin Central 320 in 1993 and sold as CALM 320 in 1994.  It was then sold to LA&P in 2002.

2488, Class C-424, was built in June 1963, #84556, as EL 2414, Class MFA-24D-6.  It became Conrail 2488, Class C-424, in April 1976 and rebuilt by General Electric Hornell in May 1980 as D&H 455, Class ARS-24m.  It was renumbered 74 and became ST 74.  It returned as D&H 74 and transferred as Maine Central 451.  It was sold to LA&L as Bath & Hammondsport 422 in 1997.

2493, Class C-424, was built in October 1963, #87433, as Reading 5204, Class RSA-14. In April 1976 it became Conrail 2493, Class C424. It was sold to GE Hornell and rebuilt.  It was sold to GB&W in January 1980 and entered service as 322 in March 1980. It became WC 322 in 1993 and sold to Reading Co Technical & History Society as Reading 5204.

2494, Class C-424, was built in October 1963, #87434, as Rdg 5205, Class RSA-14.  In April 1976 it became Conrail 2494, Class C424.  It was scrapped.

2496, Class C-424, was built in October 1963, #84736, as Rdg 5207, Class RSA-14.  It became Conrail 2496, Class C-424, in April 1976 and retired on May 24, 1979.  It was rebuilt by General Electric Hornell in May 1980 as D&H 456 and renumbered 75 in 1987. It became ST 75 in 1987 and transferred as MeC 455 in 1992.  It was retired in 1994.

2497, Class C424, was built in November 1963, #84737, as Rdg 5208, Class RSA-14.  In April 1976 it became Conrail 2497, Class C424.  It was scrapped.
