General Electric U23B Diesels

(524), Class U23B, was built on June 7, 1972, #38401, as Western Pacific 2255.  It was assigned UP 524 in December 1982 but was retired on November 19, 1987.    It was sold to General Electric in February 1988 and rebuilt as Monongahela Ry 2301, B23-7S, in October 1989.  It became Consolidated Railroad Corp 2031, Class B23-7S, and became Norfolk Southern PRR 4093.  It was sold as Arkansas-Oklahoma RR 4093.

(525), Class U23B, was built on June 7, 1972, #38403, as WP 2257. It was assigned UP 525 in December 1982 but was retired on November 19, 1987. It was sold to General Electric in February 1988 and rebuilt at Erie in April 1989 as GECX 2002. It was sold to Providence & Western as 2216 in 1998.

(528), Class U23B, was built in June 1972, #38406, as WP 2260.  It was assigned UP 528 in December 1982 but was retired on November 19, 1987.  It was sold to General Electric in 1988 and rebuilt as MGA 2308, B23-7S, in October 1989.  It became Conrail 2038, Class B23-7S, and became NS PRR 4098.  It was sold as AOK 4098.

(529), Class U23B, was built in June 1972, #38407, as WP 2261.  It was assigned UP 528, Class U23B, in December 1982 but retired on November 19, 1987.  It was sold to GE in February 1988 and rebuilt as MGA 2309 in March 1990.  It became Conrail 2039, Class B23-7S, in 1993 and sold as CSX Transportation 3198, Class B23-7S, in 1999.

(530), Class U23B, was built in June 1972, #38408, as WP 2262. It was assigned UP 530, Class U23B. in December 1982 but was retired on November 19, 1987. It was sold to GE in February 1988 and rebuilt as MGA 2307  in February 1990.  It became Conrail 2037, Class B23-7S, and became NS PRR 4097.  It was sold as Ohi-Rail 4097.

(531), Class U23B, was built on June 23, 1972, #38409, as WP 2263. It was assigned UP 531 in December 1982 but was retired on November 19, 1987. It was sold to GE in February 1988 and rebuilt at Erie in April 1989 as GECX 2000. It was sold to P&W as 2215 in 1998.

(534), Class U23B, was built in January 1973, #38758, as Missouri Pacific 668. It was renumbered 2250 in 1974 and 4500 in 1980. It was assigned UP as 534 but was retired and sold to National Ry Equipment Co on December 8, 1988,  It was sold as Central Michigan RR 8903 and it was sold to Bro-Tex International Metals in October 2011.

(536), Class U23B, was built in January 1973, #38560, as MP 670.  It was renumbered 2252 in 1974 and renumbered 4502 in 1980.  It was assigned UP 536 but was retired and sold to National Railway Equipment on December 9, 1988.  It was sold as Detroit & Mackinac 4502 and became CMGN 4502.  It was scrapped in July 2006.

(538), Class U23B, was built in January 1973, #38762, as MP 672.  It was renumbered 2254 in 1974 and 4504 in 1980.  It was assigned UP 538 in December 1985 but sold to National Railway Equipment on December 8, 1988.  It was sold as CMGN 4504 in February 1989.  It was renumbered 8905 in 1991.

(540), Class U23B, was built in February 1973, #38764, as MP 674.  It was renumbered 2256 in 1974 and 4506 in 1980.  It was assigned UP 540 in December 1985 but sold to National Railway Equipment on December 8, 1988.  It was sold as CMGN 8902 and scrapped in 2008.

542, Class U23B, was built in November 1974, #39906, as MP 2258.  It was renumbered 4508 in 1980 and became UP 542 on April 30, 1987.  It was retired on January 24, 1991, and sold to GATX.  It was sold to National Ry Equipment Co as 542 and became Texas Central Business 103 in 2001.

(543), Class U23B, was built in November 1974, #39907, as MP 2259. It was renumbered 4509 in 1980 and assigned UP 543.   It was retired on January 24, 1991. On January 24, 1991, it was sold to GATX and then to NRE as 543. It became TCB 101 in 2001.

(544), Class U23B, was built in November 1974, #39908, as MP 2260.  It was renumbered 4510 in 1980 and was assigned UP 544.  It was retired on March 9, 1988, and traded in to General Electric.

547, Class U23B, was built in November 1974, #39911, as MP 2263. It was renumbered 4513 in 1980 and became UP 547 on October 7, 1987. It was retired on January 24, 1991, and returned to GATX. It was sold to NRE as 547. It became TCB 102 in 2001.

548, Class U23B, was built in November 1974, #39912, as MP 2264.  It was renumbered 4514 in 1980 and became UP 548 on March 26, 1986.  It was retired on January 24, 1991, and returned to GATX.  It was sold to NRE as 548.

558, Class U23B, was built in June 1976, #40921, as MP 2275.  It was renumbered 4524 in 1980 and became UP 558 on October 7, 1987.  It was retired on February 1, 1994, and returned as GATX 558 in March 1984.

560, Class U23B, was built in June 1976, #40923, as MP 2287.  It was renumbered 4526 in 1980 and became UP 560 on December 22, 1986.  It was retired on February 1, 1994, and returned as GATX 560 in March 1984.

570, Class U23B, was built in January 1977, #41531, as MP 2287.  It was renumbered 4536 in 1980 and became UP 570 on February 15, 1989.  It was retired and traded in to General Electric on August 28, 1989.  It was rebuilt as B23-7SR and sold as Roberval & Saguenay Ry 52 in 1990.
