Electro-Motive Rebuilt SSB1200 Diesels
1215, Class 1214, was built in August 1939, #927, FN E258-13, as 2365, Class 2353, a NW2. It was renumbered 2415, Class 2403, on May 23, 1945, and rebuilt as 1215, Class 1214, on May 28, 1976. It was traded to Amtrak as 550 on September 8, 1984.
1216, Class 1214, was built in March 1943, #1769, FN E497-1, as 2366, Class 2353, a NW2. It was renumbered 2416, Class 2403, on May 9, 1945, and renumbered 1416, Class 1403, on on August 22, 1974. It was retired on December 8, 1977, and rebuilt at San Bernardino as 1216, Class 1215, in December 1978. It was traded to Amtrak as 551 on September 10, 1984.
1217, Class 1214, was built in August 1939, #917, FN E258-3, as 2355, Class 2353, a NW2. It was renumbered 2405, Class 2403, on June 9, 1945, and retired on June 1, 1972. It was rebuilt as 1217, Class 1214, on January 31, 1975, and traded to Amtrak as 552 on September 16, 1984.
1221, Class 1218, was built in May 1953, #18087, FN 4219-2, as 2421, Class 2418, a SW9. It was renumbered 1421, Class 1418 on August 22, 1974 and rebuilt as 1221, Class 1214, on February 23, 1979, as SSB1200. It was traded to Amtrak as 554 on September 24, 1984.
1222, Class 1214, was built in May 1953, #18088, FN 4219-3, as 2422, Class 2418, a SW9. It was rebuilt in January 1978 as 1222, Class 1214, and later was traded to Amtrak as 555 on September 8, 1984. It was retired in 1998.
1223, Class 1214, was built in May 1953, #18089, FN 4219-4, as 2423, Class 2418, a SW9. It was retired on February 4, 1974. It was rebuilt at San Bernardino on March 15, 1974, as 1223, Class 1214. It was traded to Amtrak as 556 on September 8, 1984.
1224, Class 1214, was built in May 1953, #18090, FN 4219-5, as 2424, Class 2418, a SW9. It was renumbered 1424, Class 1418, in August 1974 and rebuilt at San Bernardino as 1224, Class 1214, on April 17, 1978. It was traded to Amtrak as 557 on September 8, 1984.
1227, Class 1214, was built in May 1953, #18093, FN 4219-8, as 2427, Class 2418, a SW9. It was renumbered 1427, Class 1418, in August 1974 retired on February 29, 1979. It rebuilt at San Bernardino as 1227, Class 1214, on June 15, 1979, and retired on December 13, 1984. It was sold as Goodyear Tire & Rubber 1227 in June 1987. It became Shell Chemical 1227 in 1992 and sold to J&M Locomotive Inc as JDNX 60 by 2000. It was sold to Western Rail Inc but there is no other info.
1229, Class 1214, was built in May 1953, #18095, FN 4219-10, as 2429, Class 2418, a SW9. It was renumbered 1429, Class 1418, in August 1974 and rebuilt at San Bernardino as 1229, Class 1214, on November 19, 1978. It was sold to San Diego & Imperial Valley RR 1229 on September 24, 1984. It was transferred as New Orleans & Lower Coast RR 1229.
1231, Class 1214, was built in May 1953, #18097, FN 4219-12, as AT&SF 2431, Class 2418, a SW9. It was renumbered 1431, Class 1418, in August 1974 and retired on February 18, 1977. It was rebuilt at San Bernardino as 1231, Class 1214, on June 27, 1978, and traded in to Amtrak as 562 on September 8, 1984. It was sold to Western Rail Inc as WRIX 562 in 2009.
1234, Class 1214, was built in December 1953, #18959, FN 6524-1, as 2434, Class 2418, a SW9. It was numbered 1434, Class 1418, in August 1974 and rebuilt at San Bernarino on September 21, 1978, as 1234, Class 1214. It was retired on December 5, 1984, and sold to Chrome Locomotive Co in 1985. It was sold as United States Steel Corp 14 in 1985.
1237, Class 1214, was built in December 1953, #18962, FN 6524-4,
as 2437, Class 2418, a SW9. It was retired on January 2, 1974, and
rebuilt as 1237, Class 1215, on March 29, 1974. It was retired on
December 4, 1984, and sold to RailTex in December 1984. It was assigned as
SDIV 1237 and transferred as
1244, Class 1214, was built in January 1951, #13827, FN 6214-A1, as 2419L, Class 2418, TR4A. It was renumbered 1418A, Class 1418, in 1974 and retired in April 1979. It was rebuilt as 1244, Class 1214, SSB1200, in 1979 and retired in 1985. It was sold as Cooperative Farm Chemical Assn 1244 on May 1, 1985, and retired on June 16, 1989. It was sold to Greenbrier Management Services LLC as FLIX 1244 and sold to S&I Locomotive Services as SILX 1245.
1245, Class 1214, was built in January 1951, #13828, FN 6214-B1, as 2419A, Class 2418, TR4B. It was renumbered 1419A, Class 1418, on August 23, 1974, and retired on April 9, 1979. It was rebuilt as 1245, Class 1214. SSB1200, on August 27, 1979, and retired on April 30, 1985. It was sold as CFCA 1245 on May 1, 1985, and retired on June 16, 1989. It was sold Kansas City Power & Light Co 6813 in August 1991 and sold to Watco Inc as WAMX 1211.
