Sierra RR
Sierra Northern Ry.
It was built as Sierra Ry Co of California in 1897 and purchased as Sierra RR on July 10, 1935. It was merged with Yolo Shortline RR and became Sierra Northern in November 2003.
3 was built by Rogers in March 1891, #4493, as Prescott & Arizona Central RR 3 "Wm N Kelley". It was sold as Sierra 3 in 1897.
20 was built by Baldwin in 1920, #43344. It was later sold to the U S Army as 6814 and later to Kurth Lumber Co as 20.
22 was built by Baldwin in 1920, #53205. It was sold as California Western Ry & Navigation Co 41 and scrapped in 1950.
26 was built by Baldwin in 1908, #32646, as Ocean Shore RR 6. It was acquired by SRR in 1920 as 26 and later sold to Davies-Johnson Lumber Co as 26. It was scrapped in May 1939.
28 was built by Baldwin in January1922, #52246.
32 was built by Baldwin in 1923, #570102. It was sold to Tidewater Southern Ry as 32 in April 1940 and later renumbered 132 to avoid a conflict with Western Pacific 32. It was scrapped in 1955.
38 was built by Baldwin in September 1934, #61781, as Weyerhauser Timber Co. 4. It later became SRR 38 in 1955 and was sold as Rayonier Inc 38 in 1955. It was retired in 1967 and displayed until 1984. It is in parts at McCloud, CA.
46, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1957, #22913, FN 5516-2, as Southern Pacific 5731, Class DF-611. It was renumbered 3572, Class EF418-7, in 1966 and rebuilt on February 28, 1975 as 3773, Class EF418E-3. It was retired in 1993 and sold as SERA 46 in 1994. It was wrecked and rebuilt later.
47, GP7, was built by Electro-Motive in August 1952, #16906, FN 6400-5, as Reading Co 607, Class RS-3. It was sold as Central California Traction Co 60 in 1976 and sold as SERA 47 in 1999.
132, GP9u, was built by Electro-Motive in October 1957, #24078, FN 5563-4, as St Louis South-Western 823, Class Z-17.5. It was renumbered 3644, Class ES418C-1, in 1977, and rebuilt as 3813, Class ES418S-3, in 1976. It was sold as Yolo Short Line RR 132 and became SERA 132 in 2003.
133, GP9, was built by Electro-Motive in May 1956, #21420, FN 5437-8, as Texas & New Orleans 436, Class DF-607. It was renumbered Southern Pacific 3558, Class EF418-6, in 1966 and rebuilt on May 9,1972, as 3350, Class EF418E-2. It was sold as Yolo 133 and became Sierra Northern RR 133. It was rebuilt by Railpower as 133, RP20BD in 2014.
511, S1, was built by Alco in June 1942, #69692, as
593, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive built in December 1953, #18934, as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 280C, Class 200, an F7A. It was retired on May 16, 1973, and was rebuilt at Cleburne as 2562, Class 2417, on July 20, 1973. It was sold to Amtrak as 593 on September 1984. It later was sold to Nevada Industrial Switching as 583 and then later as SRR 593.
594, CF7, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1953, #18928, as AT&SF 277C, Class 200, an F7A. It was retired on October 12, 1972, and rebuilt at Cleburne as 2584, Class 2417, on January 30, 1973. It was retired in September 1984 and sold as Amtrak 594 in September 1984. It was sold as NIS 594. It was leased as SRR 594 and returned as NIS 2584.
613, MRS1, was built by Alco and General Electric in 1953, #80379, 31618, as United States Army B2063. It later became United States Navy 65-00613 and sold as Sierra RR 613 in 1991.
1265, RS4TC, was built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton-Whitcomb in 1953, #61220, as United States Army 1265. It was sold as Sierra Ry 1265.
