5501-5599

5501, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #35628, FN 7326-9, as Norfolk & Western 4108, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4108, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5501, Class GP38-2 in August 2000.  It was retired on December 18, 2013, and sold to First Union Rail as FURX 5501.

5502, Class GP38-2, was built in January 1970, #36026, FN 7240-26, as Southern Ry 2778 a GP38.  It became NS 2778, Class GP38.  It was rebuilt as 5502, Class GP38-2, in January 2001 and retired on January 4, 2014.  It was sold as FURX 5502.

5503, Class GP38-2, was built in March 1970, #36066, FN 7240-66, as AGS 2818, a GP38.  It became NS 2818, Class GP38.  It was rebuilt as 5503, Class GP38-2, in January 2001, and retired on November 17, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5503.

5504, Class GP38-2,  was built in August 1971, #35624, FN 7326-5, as N&W 4104, a GP38AC .  It became NS 4104, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5504, Class GP38-2, in February 2001 and retired on December 11, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5504.

5505, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1971, #35636, FN 7326-17, as N&W 4116, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4116, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5505, Class GP38-2, in February 2001 and retired on November 17, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5505.

5506, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1971, #35638-FN 7326-20, as N&W 4119, a GP38 AC.  It became NS 4119, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5506, Class GP38-2, in February 2001 and retired on October 15, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5506.

5507, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1971, #35638, FN 7326-19, as N&W 4118, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4118, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5507, Class GP38-2, in February 2001 and retired on November 22, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5507.

5508, Class GP38-2, was built in February 1970, #36048. FN 7240-48, as Southern 2800, a GP38.  It became NS 2800, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5508, Class GP38-2, in February 2001.  It was retired on December 18, 2013, and sold as FURX 5508.

5509, Class GP38-2, was built in March 1970, #36049, FN 7240-49, as Southern 2801, a GP38.  It became NS 2801, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5509, Class GP38-2, in February 2001.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5509,

5510, Class GP38-2, was built in November 1971, #38202, FN 5775-35, as N&W 4159, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4159, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5510, Class GP3802, in February 2001.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5510.

5511, Class GP38-2, was built in June 1971, #35645, FN 5775-1, as N&W 4125, a GP38AC,  It became NS 4125, Class GP39AC, and rebuilt as 5511, Class GP38-2, in February 2001.  It was retired on January 5, 2014, and sold as FURX 5511.

5512, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1971, #35621, FN 7362-2, as N&W 4101, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4101, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5512, Class GP38-2, in February 2001 and retired on November 22, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5512.

5513, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1969, #36005, FN 7240-5, as Southern 2757, a GP38.  It became NS 2757, Class GP38, and rebuilt as NS 5513, Class GP38-2, in July 2001.  It was retired on January 4, 2014 and sold as FURX 5513.

5514, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #37334, FN 5778-12, as Southern 2862, a GP38AC.  It became NS 2862, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5514, Class GP38-2, in July 2001.  It was retired on October 15, 2013 and sold to FURX 5514.

5515, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #37333, FN 5778-11, as Southern 2861, a GP38AC.  It became NS 2861, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5515, Class GP38-2, in August 2001.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5515.

5516, Class GP38-2, was built in December 1971, #7368-2, FN 7368-2, as Lehigh Valley 311, Class ERS-20, a GP38.   It later became Conrail 7657, Class GP-38, in April 1976 and later NS as PRR 2882.  It was rebuilt as NS 5516, Class GP38-2, in August 2001.  It was retired on December 11, 2013, and sold as FURX 5516.

5517, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #37329, FN 5778-7, as Southern 2857, a GP38AC.  It became NS 2857, Class GP38, and was rebuilt as NS 5517, Class GP38-2, in September 2001.

5518, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35276, FN 5744-19, as Southern 2746, a GP38.  It became NS 2746, Class GP38, and was rebuilt as NS 5518, Class GP38-2, in September 2001.  It was retired on December 18, 2013, and sold as FURX 5518.

5519, Class GP38-2, was built in March 1970, #36070, FN 7240-70, as Georgia Southern & Florida (Southern) 2822, a GP38.  It became NS 2822, Class GP38, and rebuilt as NS 5519, Class GP38-2, in 2001.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5519.

5520, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #35660, FN 5775-16, as N&W 4140, a GP38.  It became NS 4140, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5520, Class GP38-2, in October 2001 and retired on October 15, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5520.

5521, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1969, #35352, FN 7191-49, as Penn Central 7723. Class EF-20, a GP38.  It became Conrail 7723, Class GP-38, in April 1976, and became NS as PRR 2905, Class GP-38 in 1999.  It was rebuilt as 5521, Class GP38-2, in October 2001, and retired on November 25, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5521.

5522, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1971, #37320, FN 7307-26, as Central of Georgia 2846, a GP38AC.  It became NS 2846, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as NS 5522, Class GP38-2, in 2001.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5522.

5523, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #37348, FN 5778-26, as Southern CNOTP 2876, a GP38AC.  It became NS 2876, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as NS 5523, Class GP38-2, in 2001.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5523.

5524, Class GP38-2, was built in February 1970, #36046, FN 7240-46, as Southern 2798, a GP38.  It became NS 2798, Class GP38.  It was rebuilt as NS 5524, Class GP38-2, in December 2001 and retired on November 25, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5524.

5525, Class GP38-2, was built in April 1971, #37297, FN 7307-3, as Southern 2825, a GP38AC.  It became NS 2825, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as NS 5525, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 23, 2013.

5526, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #37347, FN 5778-25, as Southern CNOTP 2875, a GP38AC,  It became NS 2875, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as NS 5526, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 18, 2013, and sold as FURX 5526.

5527, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1971, #35641, FN 7326-22, as N&W 4121, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4121, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5527, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on October 29, 2013, and sold as FURX 5527.

5528, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35260, FN 5744-3, as Southern CNOTP 2730, a GP38.  It became NS 2730, Class GP38, and rebuilt as NS 5528, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 11, 2013, and sold as FURX 5528.

5529, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #37327, FN 5778-5, as Southern 2855, a GP38.  It became NS 2855, Class GP38.  It was rebuilt as NS 5529, Class GP38-2, in March 2002 and retired on November 17, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5529. 

5530, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #35633, FN 7326-14, as N&W 4113, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4113, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as NS 5530, Class GP38-2, in April 2002.  It was retired on October 21, 2013, and sold as FURX 5530.

5531, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35282, FN 5744-25, as Southern 2752, a GP38.  It became NS 2752, Class GP38, and rebuilt as NS 5531, Class GP38-2, in March 2002.  It was destroyed with collision with gasoline truck near Chalmette, LA, on June 24, 2004.  It was retired on January 22, 2008, and scrapped at Juniata in December 2012.

5532, Class GP38-2, was built in November 1969, #36007, FN 7240-7, as Southern 2759, a GP38.  It became NS 2759, Class GP38, and rebuilt as NS 5532, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 11, 2013, and sold as FURX 5532.

5533, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #37337, FN 5778-15, as Southern 2865, a GP38AC.  It became NS 2856, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as NS 5533, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 18, 2013, and sold as FURX 5533.

5534, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1971, #35635, FN 7326-16, as N&W 4115, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4115, Class GP38AC.  and was rebuilt was NS 5534, Class GP38-2. in April 2002 and retired on November 17, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5534.

5535, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #35661, FN 5775-17, as N&W 4141, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4141, Class GP38AC, and was rebuilt as NS 5535, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5535.

5536, Class GP38-2, was built in November 1971, #38194, FN 5775-27, as N&W 4151, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4151, Class GP38AC, and was rebuilt as NS 5536, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5536.

5537, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1971, #37322, FN 7307-28, as Central of Georgia 2850, GP38AC  It became NS 2859, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as NS 5537, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on October 15, 2013, and sold as FURX 5537.

5538, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #37342, FN 5778-20, as Southern 2870, GP38AC.  It became NS 2870, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5538, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5538.

5539, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #37349, FN 5778-27, as Interstate 2877 a GP38AC.  It Became NS 2877, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5539, Class GP38-2, in June 2002 and retired on November 22, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5539.

5540, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #37330, FN 5778-8, as Southern 2858, GP38AC.  It became NS 2858, Class GP38AC,  It was rebuilt as NS 5540, Class GP38-2, in July 2002 and retired on November 17, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5540.

5541, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #35663, FN 5775-19, as N&W 4143, a GP38AC.  It became NS 4143, Class 4143, and rebuilt as NS 5541, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on January 5, 2014, and sold as FURX 5541.

5542, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35268, FN 5744-11, as Southern 2738, GP38.  It became NS 2738, Class GP38, and rebuilt as NS 5542, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on October 29, 2013, and sold as FURX 5542.

5543, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #38189, FN 5775-22, as N&W 4146, GP38AC.  It became NS 4146, Class GP38AC, and was rebuilt as 5543, Class GP38-2, in August 2002.  It was retired on October 21, 2013, and sold as FURX 5543.

5544, Class GP38-2, was built in November 1971, #38196, FN 5775-29, as N&W 4153, GP38AC.  It became NS 4153, Class GP38AC, and was rebuilt as 5544, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5544.

5545, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #37325, FN 5778-3, as Southern 2853, GP38AC.  It became NS 2853, Class GP38AC, and was rebuilt as 5545, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on January 5, 2014, and sold as FURX 5545.  It was sold as Twin Cities & Western 2015 in 2017 . 

5546, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #37312, FN 7307-18, as Alabama Great Southern 2840.  It became NS 2840, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5546, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on October 15, 2013, and sold as FURX 5546,

5547, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35279, FN 5744-22, as Southern 2749, GP38.  It became NS 2749, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5547, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5547.  It was sold as Twin Cities & Western 2016 in 2017 . 

5548, Class GP38-2, was built in March 1970, # 36067,  FN 7240-67, as Southern 2819, GP38.  It became NS 2819, Class GP38, and rebuilt 5548, Class SD38-2, in October 2002.  It was retired on October 29, 2013, and sold as FURX 5548. 

5549, Class GP38-2, was built in February 1970, #36042, FN 7240-42, as Southern 2794.  It became NS 2794, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5549, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 18, 2013, and sold as FURX 5549.

5550, Class GP38-2, was built in January 1970, #36034, FN 7240-34, as Southern 2786, GP38.  It became NS 2786, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5550, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on October 21, 2013, and sold as FURX 5550.

5551, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1969, #32757, FN 7189-12, as Southern 2727, GP38.  It became NS 2727, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5551, Class GP38-2, in 2002.  It was retired on December 13, 2013, and sold as FURX 5551.

5552, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #37331, FN 5778-9, as Southern 2859, GP38AC.  It became NS 2859, Class GP38AC, an rebuilt as 5552, Class GP38-2, in 2002 and retired on October 29, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5552.

5554, Class GP38-2, was built in March 1970, #36052, FN 7240-52, as AGS 2804, a GP38.  It became NS 2804, Class GP38, and rebuilt as NS 5554, Class GP38-2, in December 2002.  It was retired on December 13, 2013, and sold as FURX 5554.

5555, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35274, FN 5744-17, as Carolina & Northwestern (Southern) 2744, GP38.  It became NS 2744, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5555, Class GP38-2, in December 2002.  It was retired on December 18, 2013, and sold as FURX 5555.

5556, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #37313, FN 7303-19, as Georgia Southern & Florida (Southern) 2841, GP39AC.  It became NS 2831, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt as 5556, Class GP38-2,  in 2003.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5556.

5557, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1971, #36190, FN 5775-23, as N&W 4147, GP38AC.  It became NS 4147, Class GP38AC, and rebuilt in January 2003 as 5557, Class GP38-2.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5557.

5558, Class GP38-2, was built in March 1970, #36056, FN 7240-56, as AGS 2808, GP38.  It became NS 2808, Class GP38, and rebuilt in 2003.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5558.

5559, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1971, #37308, FN 7307-14, as Southern Ry 2836, GP38AC.  It was assigned as N&W 2836 and became NS 2836, Class GP38AC.  It was rebuilt as NS 5559, Class GP38-2, in February 2003 and retired on October 21, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5559.

5560, Class GP38-2, was built in November 1971, #38192, FN 5772-26, as N&W 4149, GP38AC.  It became NS 4149, Class GP38AC, and was rebuilt as 5560, Class GP38-2, in February 2003.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5560.

5561, Class GP38-2, was built in August 1971, #35622, FN 7326-3, as N&W 4102, GP38AC.  It became NS 4102, Class GP38AC, and was rebuilt as 5561, Class GP38-2, in 2003.  It was retired on January 4, 2014, and sold as FURX 5561.

5569, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35281, FN 5744-24, as Southern 2751.  It became NS 2751, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5569, Class GP38-2, in 2003.  It was retired on December 23, 2013, and sold as FURX 5569.

5570, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1969, #35353, FN 7191-50, as PC 7724, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7724, Class GP-38, in April 1976 and became NS PRR 2906, Class GP38, in 1999.  It was rebuilt in June 2003 as 5570, Class GP38-2, and retired on December 23, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5570.

5571, Class GP38-2, was built in September 1969, #35280, FN 5744-23, as Southern 2750.  It became NS 2750, Class GP38.  It was rebuilt as NS 5571, Class GP38-2, in August 2003 and retired on November 25, 2013.  It was sold as FURX 5571.

5579, Class GP38-2, was built in July 1969, #35336, FN 7191-33, as PC 7707, Class EF-20.  It became Conrail 7707, Class GP-38, in April 1976, and became NS PRR 2898, Class GP38, in 1999.  It was rebuilt in December 2003 as 5579, Class GP38-2, and retired on December 18, 2013.  it was sold as FURX 5579.

5580, Class GP38-2, was built in October 1969, #35255, FN 7189-10, as Southern 2725, GP38.  It became NS 2725, Class GP38, and rebuilt as 5580, Class GP38-2, in 1980.  It was retired on October 15, 2013, and sold as FURX 5580.
