Electro-Motive SD40-2 Diesels

 

601 was built in August 1978, #776064-2, FN 776064-2.  It became Union Pacific 3810, Class SD40-2, on February 16, 1989, and retired on November 29, 2000.  It was sold to CIT Group as CEFX 3158 and sold as Terminal RR of St Louis 3005 in 2012.

602 was built in August 1978, #776064-3, FN 776064-3.  It became UP 3811, Class SD40-2, on October 3, 1989, and renumbered 3431 on August 7, 2003.  It was retired on February 1, 2013.

605 was built in August 1978, #776064-6, FN 776064-6.  It became UP 3814, Class SD40-2, on August 31, 1989, and retired on May 24, 2001.  It was rebuilt by GE Rail Services of San Luis Potosi in 2003 as Iowa Chicago & Eastern 6457 "City of Alden".

606 was built in August 1978, #776064-7, FN 776064-7.  It became UP 3815, Class SD40-2, on August 15, 1989, and retired on November 29, 2000.  It was rebuilt by GE Rail Services of San Luis Potosi in 2003 as IC&E 6413 "City of Minneapolis".  It was retired in October 2012.

 

607 was built in October 1978, #776133-1, FN 776133-1.  It became UP 3816, Class SD40-2, on December 8, 1989, and retired on May 24, 2001.  It was sold to Progress Rail Services and rebuilt as PRLX 3001, PR30C, in 2009.

608 was built in October 1978, #776133-2, FN 776133-2.  It became UP 3817, Class SD40-2, on August 9, 1990, and retired on July 31, 2001.  It was sold to David J Joseph Co in December 2001 and scrapped in June 2002.

610 was built in October 1978, #776133-4, FN 776133-4.  It became UP 3819, Class SD40-2, on February 9, 1990, and retired on July 25, 2000.  It was sold as Southwestern RR 3819.

611 was built in September 1979, #786228-1, FN 786228-1.  It became UP 3820, Class SD40-2, on March 1, 1989, and retired on May 24, 2001.  It was sold as Reading Blue Mountain & Northern RR 3051.

612 was built in September 1979, #786228-2, FN 786228-22.  It became UP 3821, Class SD40-2, on March 2, 1990, and retired on October 21, 2001.  It was sold to Progress Rail Services and leased as UP 7907, Class SD40-2, on December 5, 2003.  It was returned on May 25, 2004, but reactivated on October 18, 2007.  It was finally retired on September 14, 2007.

614 was built in September 1979, #786228-4, FN 786228-4.  It became UP 3822, Class SD40-2, on June 1, 1990, and renumbered 3482 on February 23, 2004.  It was retired on February 17, 2009, and rebuilt as 1585, Class SD40N, on October 22, 2010.  It was renumbered as 3482 on October 28, 2010.

620 was built in July 1980, #796305-2, FN 796305-2.  It became UP 3826, Class SD40-2, on February 15, 1990, and renumbered 3486 on October 28, 2003.  It was renumbered 3240 on June 1, 2012.

626 was built in July 1980, #796305-8, FN 789305-8.  It became UP 3834, Class SD40-2, on September 14, 1990, and retired on November 29, 2001.  It was lettered as WP 3834 on June 4, 2004, and sold to Helm Leasing Co as HLCX 6252 in 2004.  It was sold as Norfolk Southern 3580, Class SD40-2. on November 17, 2013.

627 was built in July 1980, #796305-9, FN 796305-9.  It became UP 3835, Class SD40-2, on September 21, 1990, and retired on May 24, 2001.  It was sold to National Ry Equipment Co and sold as CEFX 3160.  It was sold to Motive Power Resources in 2013 and sold as Bay Line 3400 in April 2014.

631 was built in September 1981, #806049-3, FN 806049-3.  It became UP 3838, Class SD40-2, on May 5, 1989, and renumbered 3522 on September 26, 2003.  It was renumbered 3263 on September 28, 2012.

633 was built in September 1981, #806049-5, FN 806049-5.  It became UP 3840, Class SD40-2, on September 20, 1990, and wrecked at Machovic, TX, on October 17, 1993.  It was scrapped on the site.

635 was built in September 1981, #80649-7. FN 80649-7.  It became UP 3842, Class SD40-2, on December 19, 1989, and retired on July 31. 2001.  It was sold to Larry's Truck Electric on October 7, 2003.
