American Smelting & Refining Co.

ASARCO, Inc.

1945 was built by Baldwin in February 1902, #20073, as El Paso & Northeastern 69.  It became El Paso & Southwestern 203 in 1904 and rebuilt on July 27, 1908.  On May 26, 1920, it sold as AS&RCo 1945 and sold as Nacionales de Mexico 1945, Class G=52, in 1926.  It was renumbered 1130, Class G-16, in 1930 and retired in 1963.

1, 80 Ton, was built by General Electric in July 1949, #30006, as American Smelting & Refining Co 1.  It was sold as Kennecott Copper Co 1 in 1959.  It was sold as Lithcote Co 1 and became Union Tank Car Co 1302.

2, 12DB30,  was built by Whitcomb in 1939,3 #40081, as ASARCO 2.  It was sold to a scrapper in 1971 and sold to Paramount Great America.  It was donated to Society for the Preservation of Carter Resources in 1996 and ran for a short time.  It was sold as Kauai Plantation Ry KPRy 10 in 2004 and sold to Roaring Camp & Big Trees in 2017.  It was leased to SPCRR.

2, RS3, was built by Alco in November 1950, #78371.  It was sold as KCC 2 in 1959 and retired in November 1985.  It was donated to Feather River Rail Society and removed parts.  It was scrapped.

3, RS3, was built by Alco in November 1950, #78373.  It was sold as KCC 3 in 1959 and retired in November 1985.  It was donated to Feather River Rail Society and removed parts.  It was scrapped.

7, 44 Ton, was built by General Electric.

2-44, 35 Ton, was built by General Electric.

10, 8DM67, was built by Whitcomb Locomotive Co in 1948, as Revere Copper & Brass Co 40627.  It was sold as Asarco 10 and donated to Museum of American  Railroad.

1954, S12, was built by Baldwin in April 1952, #75544.  It was sold as Industrial Minera Mexico 1954.

1955, VO660, was built by Baldwin,

1956, SW1000, was built by Electro-Motive in September 1971, #36854, FN 711771, as Cemento Anahua, no number.  It was transferred as ASARCO 1956 and sold as IMM 1956.
