Savannah & Atlanta
The S&A was organized in 1915 to build a connection from the Savannah & Northwestern from Springfield, GA, to a connection with the Georgia RR at Camak Jct. The S&NW had been organized as the Brinson RR in 1906 and was renamed in 1914. In 1917 the S&A took over the S&NW and the total mileage was 142 miles. It came under the control of the Southern Ry and parts of it are still being operated as NS branch lines.
504 was built by Baldwin in September 1925, #58683. It was sold as Buffalo Creek & Gauley RR 17 and sold as Livonia Avon & Lakeville 17 in May 1965. It was retired in June 1967 and scrapped on March 30, 1970.
750 was built by Alco-Schenectady in January 1910, #46567, as Florida East Coast 136. It was renumbered 88 and later sold to the S&A as 750 in 1935. It was donated at Southeastern Railway Museum in 1962
109, AS616, was built by Baldwin in July7 1952, #74675. It was traded in to Electro-Motive in June 1965.
2705, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1964, #30044, FN 7784-1. It became Central of Georgia 2705 in 1971 and was retired in September 1992. It was leased to Wheeling & Lake Erie as 2705 and rebuilt in April 1997. It was renumbered 108.
2706, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1964, #30045, FN 7784-2. It became CG 2706 in 1971 and was retired in October 1997. It was leased to W&LE as 2706 and rebuilt in 1995. It was renumbered 200 in March 2003.
2707, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in December 1964, #30046, FN 7784-3. It became CG 2707 in 1971 and leased to W&LE as 2707. It was retired in October 1997 and sold to Steel Processing Service in December 1993.
2713, GP35, was built by Electro-Motive in January 1965, #30052, FN 7784-9. It became CG 2713 in 1971 and leased to W&LE as 2713 in 1990. It was rebuilt as W&LE 102 in December 2000.
