Electro-Motive SD39 Diesels

2961 was built in May 1960, #34883, FN 7168-1, as Illinois Terminal RR 2301. It became N&W 2961 in November 1981 and was retired in August 1984.  It was sold to Boston & Maine as 690 in August 1985.  It was scrapped.

 

2962 was built in May 1969, #34884, FN 7168-2, as IT 2302.  It became N&W 2962 in November 1981 and was retired in August 1984.  It was sold to B&M as 691 in August 1985.

2963 was built in May 1969. #34885, FN 7168-3, as ITRR 2303.  It became N&W 2963 in November 1981 and was retired in August 1984.  It was sold to B&M as 692 in August 1985.

2964 was built in May 1969, #34886, FN 7168-4, as IT 2304.  It became N&W 2964 in November 1981 and retired in August 1984.  It was sold to Gibbs Ry Equipment and rebuilt as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 140, Class 140, in February 1986.  It was renumbered 1140, Class 1140, in 1989, and became Burlington Northern Santa Fe 3971, Class Slug, on February 4, 1998.  It was renumbered 265 in 2009.

2965 was built in May 1969, #34887, FN 7168-5, as ITRR 2305.  It became N&W 2965 in November 1981 and retired in 1985.  It was sold to Morrison Knudsen and rebuilt as 9001 and transferred as Motive Power International 9001.  It was sold to Helm Leasing Co as 9001 in May 1996 and scrapped in 2011.

2966 was built in May 1969, #34888, FN 7168-6, as ITRR 2306.  It became N&W 2966 in November 1981 and was retired in August 1984.  It was sold to B&M as 693 in August 1985 and was transferred to Maine Central as 693.
