Photos Chicago Rapid Transit Chicago Transit Authority 5000s The last cars purchased by CRT were four articulated trains built to PCC
standards. 5001 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1947, #6747. It was renumbered 51
in 1963 and acquired by Fox River Trolley Museum in 1986. It was restored
as 5001.
5002 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1947, #6747. It was renumbered 52 in 1963 and renumbered 75 "Paul Revere" in 1976. It was returned as 52 and acquired by Illinois Railway Museum in 1986.
5003 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1947, #1737. It was renumbered 53 in 1963 and named ""The Minutemen" temporarily in 1976. It was acquired by Monticello & Sangamon Valley in 1986.
5004 was built by St Louis Car Co in 1947, #1737. It was renumbered 54 in 1963 and names "John Paul Jones" temporarily in 1976. It was acquired by Indiana Transportation Museum in 1986. It was scrapped.
