Electro-Motive SW1500 Diesels

1200-1327

Y1206, Class SW1500, was built in May 1972, #4608-49, FN 4608-49, as Southern Pacific 2639, Class ES415-3. It became UP 1206 on August 7, 1997 and Y1206 on September 10, 2001.

Y1210, Class SW1500, was built in June 1972, #4608-66, Class FN 4608-66, as SP 2645, Class ES415-5. It became UP 1210 on November 30, 1997, and Y1210 on July 30, 2003.

Y1214, Class SW1500, was built in April 1972, #4608-36, FN 4608-36, as SP 2628, Class ES415-5.  It was retired on February 28, 1999, and reinstated on March 8, 1999. It became UP 1214 on April 12, 1999, and Y1214 on July 29, 2003.  It was retired on September 20, 2011, and reactivated on February 25, 2012.

Y1217, Class SW1500, was built in June 1972, #4608-78, FN 4608-78, as SP 2668, Class ES415L-4.  It was assigned UP as 1217, Class SW1500, in January 1996, and became UPY 1217, Class SW1500, on August 2, 2001.  It was retired October 31, 2002.

Y1219, Class SW1500, was built in July 1972, #4608-82, FN 4608-82, as SP 2672, Class ES415L-4.  It was assigned UP as 1219 in January 1996, and became UPY 1219 on August 18, 2001.

Y1229, Class SW1500, was built in May 1973, #72631-7, FN 72631-7, as SP 2685, Class ES415-6.  It became UP 1229, Class SW1500, and renumbered UPY 1229 on August 31, 2001.  It was sold as Independent Locomotive Service 929 in 2012.

1233, Class SW1500, was built in April 1973, #72631-10, FN 72631-10, as SP 2689, Class ES415-6.  It became UP 1233 on March 21, 1997, and was retired on May 25, 2001, as WP 1233.

Y1310, Class SW1500, was built in May 1975, #74668-1, FN 74668-1, as Pittsburgh & Lake Erie 1584, Class ES-15.  It was sold as UP 1010 in April 1985 and repainted in July 1985.  It was renumbered 1310 on November 2, 1987, and renumbered Y1310 on July 11, 2003.  It was retired on December 22, 2008.

1318, Class SW1500, was built in December 1972, #7343-1, FN 7343-1, as Missouri Pacific 1518.  It became UP 1318 on August 19, 1986, and retired on January 1, 1988.  It was sold to Helm Leasing and sold as Chicago Rail Link 18 in February 1988.

1321, Class SW1500, was built in December 1972, #7343-4, FN 7343-4, as MP 1521.  It became UP 1321 on June 1, 1988, and retired on March 28, 1994.  It was sold to Helm Leasing and rebuilt by Metro East Industries as HLLX 1500.  It was sold as Texas & Northern 1500.

1322, Class SW1500, was built in November 1967, #33488, FN 7072-1, as Missouri-Kansas-Texas 50.  It became UP 1322 on July 18, 1989, and was returned to Electro-Motive on December 8, 1989.  It is reported as having sold to Prairie Coal Co in Saskatchewan, but it is not in other listings.

1323, Class SW1500, was built in November 1967, #33489. FN 7072-2, as MKT 51.  It became UP 1323, Class SW1500, on December 8, 1989, and was returned to Electro-Motive in December 8, 1989.  It then went to GM Central Foundry as 1323 and then sold  to E I DuPont de Nemours as DUPX 104.  It became Chambers Cogenerating LP as CPGX 104 and sold as Progress Rail as PRLX 104.
