Electro-Motive GP38-2 Diesels

2074-2397

2074, Class GP38-2, was built in January 1973, #71702-1, FN 71702-1. as Missouri Pacific 923.  It was renumbered 2074 in September 1974 and became UP 2074, Class GP38-2, on May 16, 1991.  It was wrecked at Chidester, AR, in May 1994 and retired on November 29, 1994.

2081, Class GP38-2, was built in January 1973, #71702-8, FN 71702-8, as MP 930.  It was renumbered 2081 in September 1974 and became Union Pacific 2081 on May 24, 1988.  It was retired on December 31, 1993, and transferred as Alton & Southern 2000 in January 1994.  It was sent to MEI and rebuilt as New England Central 2151 in November 2019.

2093, Class GP38-2, was built in February 1973, #71702-20, FN 71702-20, as MP 942.  It was renumbered 2093 in September 1974 and became UP 2093, Class GP38-2, on October 18, 1991.  It was retired on April 4, 1994, and sold to Helm and became HATX 204.  It was returned as UP 1834, Class GP38-2, on April 15, 1997, and renumbered 334 on March 30, 2001.  It was returned as HLCX 334 and renumbered as 3884 on November 21, 2012.

2095, Class GP38-2, was built in December 1973, #71702-22, FN 71702-22, as MP 944.  It was renumbered 2095 in September 1974.  It became UP 2095, Class GP38-2, on May 18, 1989, and retired on December 31, 1993.  It was returned to Helm Leasing and sold as Montana Western Ry 2011 in January 1994.  It was sold as Rarus RR 1011 in 2005 and became Butte Anaconda & Pacific 1011 in 2007.

2100, Class GP38-2, was built in March 1973, #71702-27, FN 71702-27, as MP 949.  It was renumbered 2100 in September 1974. It became UP 2100, Class GP38-2, on January 10, 1987, and was returned to Helm on April 4, 1994, as HATX 205. It was then rebuilt and returned as UP 1835 on April 15, 1997. It was renumbered 335 on August 8, 2003.

2102, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1973, #71702-29, FN 71702-29, as MP 951.  It was renumbered 2102 in September 1974.  It became UP 2102, Class GP38-2. on July 25, 1991, and retired on April 4, 1994.  It was renumbered HATX 206.  It was rebuilt as UP 1836, Class GP38-2, on July 1, 1997, and renumbered 336 on March 3, 2004.

2104, Class GP38-2, was built in May 1973, #71702-31, FN 71702-31, as MP 963.  It was renumbered 2104 in September 1974.  It became UP 2104, Class GP38-2, on April 4, 1989, and was returned to Helm on April 4, 1994, as HATX 207.  It was rebuilt and returned as 1837 on April 9, 1997.  It was renumbered 337 on April 16, 2000.

(2342), Class GP38-2, was built in January 1972, #7344-8, FN 7344-8, as MP 865.  It was renumbered 2016 in September 1974.  It was assigned UP 2342, Class GP38-2, in January 1984 but returned on July 3, 1987.  It was sold as Helm 2016 and rebuilt as UP 1806, Class GP38-2, on October 3, 1990.  It was renumbered 307 on May 23, 2003.

(2343), Class GP38-2, was built in January 1972, #7344-9, FN 7344-9, as MP 866, and was renumbered 2017 in September 1974. It was assigned  UP 2343, Class GP38-2, in January 1984 but returned on July 3, 1987.  It was sold to Grand Trunk Western and rebuilt as 5708, Class GR-420g, on December 30, 1987. It was renumbered 4908 in 1997.

(2345), Class GP38-2, was built in January 1972, #7344-11, FN 7344-11, as MP 868.  It was renumbered 2019 in September 1974 and assigned UP 2345, Class GP38-2, in January 1984 but returned on July 3, 1987.  It was sold as Helm 2019 and rebuilt to GTW as 5726, Class GR-420g, on February 14, 1991.  It was renumbered 4926 in 1997.

(2351), Class GP38-2, was built in January 1972, #7344-17, FN 7344-17, as MP 874.  It was renumbered 2025 in September 1974 and assigned UP 2351, Class GP38-2. in January 1984.  It was retired on July 3, 1987, and became Helm, 2025.  It was rebuilt as GTW 5730, Class GR-420g, on June 30, 1991, and renumbered 4930 in 1997.

 

(2352), Class GP38-2, was built in January 1972, #7344-18, FN 7344-18, as MP 875.  It was renumbered 2026 in September 1974.  It was assigned UP 2352, Class GP38-2, in January 1984 and returned on July 3, 1987, to GTW as 5706, Class GR-420g, on December 11, 1987.  It was renumbered 4906 in 1997.

(2361), Class GP38-2, was built in January 1972, #7344-27, FN 7344-27, as MP 884, and was renumbered 2035 in September 1974. It was assigned UP 2361, Class GP38-2, in January 1984 and returned on July 3, 1987.  It was sold to GTW and rebuilt as 5725, Class GR-420g, on February 16, 1990. It was renumbered 4925 in 1997.

(2363), Class GP38-2, was built in January 1972, #7344-29, FN 7344-29, as MP 886.  It was renumbered 2037 in September 1974.  It was assigned UP 2363, Class GP38-2, in January 1984 and returned on July 3, 1987.  It was sold to GTW and rebuilt as 5731, Class GR-420g, on August 30, 1991.  It was renumbered 4931 in 1997 and wrecked at Springfield, MI, on November 15, 2001.  It was retired on December 21, 2001.

(2364), Class GP38-2, was built in February 1972, #7344-31, FN 7344-31, as MP 888.  It was renumbered 2039 in September 1974.  It was assigned UP 2364 in January 1984 and returned on July 3, 1987, as HLCX 2039.  It was rebuilt as Grand Trunk Western 5733, Class GR-420g, on November 7, 1991, and renumbered 4933 in 1997.

(2367) was built in February 1972, #7344-33, FN 7344-33, as MP 890.  It was renumbered 2041 in September 1974.  It was assigned UP 2367, Class GP38-2, in January 1984 and returned on January 3, 1987.  It was sold to GTW and rebuilt as 5703, Class GR-420g, on October 15, 1987.  It was renumbered 4903 in 1997.

(2376), Class GP38-2, was built in February 1972, #7344-42, FN 7344-42, as MP 899, and was renumbered 2050 in September 1974. It was assigned 2376 in January 1984 and returned on July 3, 1987, to GTW as 5702, Class GR-420g, on September 30, 1987. It was renumbered 4902 in 1997.

2369, Class GP38-2, was built in February 1972, #7344-35, FN 7344-35, as MP 892.  It was renumbered 2043 in September 1974 and became UP 2369, Class GP38-2, on July 3, 1987.  It was retired on July 3, 1987, and sold to GTW.  It was rebuilt as 5709, Class GR-420g, on March 30, 1988, and renumbered 4909 in 1997.

(2379), Class GP38-2, was built in February 1972, #7344-45, FN 7344-45, as MP 902, and was renumbered 2053 in September 1974. It was UP assigned 2379 in January 1984 but returned on July 3, 1987, to GTW as 5704, Class GR-420g, on November 6, 1987. It was renumbered 4904 in 1997.

(2389), Class GP38-2, was built in October 1972, #72759-10, FN 72759-10, as MP 912.  It was renumbered 2063 in September 1974.  It was assigned UP 2389 in January 1984 but returned on January 26, 1988.  It was sold to GTW and rebuilt as 5722, Class GR-420b, on December 12, 1988.  It was renumbered 4922 in 1997.  It was wrecked at Springfield, MI, on November 15, 2001, and cut up on the site.

(2390), Class GP38-2, was built in October 1972, #72659-1, FN 72659-1, as MP 913, and was renumbered 2064 in September 1974.   It was UP assigned 2390 in January 1984 but returned on January 26, 1988.  It was sold to GTW and rebuilt as 5720, Class GR-420g, on October 21, 1988.  It was renumbered 4920 in 1997.

(2394), Class GP38-2, was built in October 1972, #72659-5, FN 72659-5, as MP 917, and was renumbered 2068 in September 1974. It was UP assigned 2394 in January 1984 but returned on January 26, 1988, to GTW as 5716, Class GR-420g, on August 19, 1988. It was renumbered 4916 in 1997.

(2397), Class GP38-2. was built in October 1972, #72659-8, FN 72659-8, as MP 920.  It was renumbered 2071 in September 1974.  It was UP assigned 2397 in January 1984 but returned on January 26, 1988.  It was sold as Helm 2071 and rebuilt as UP 1826, Class GP38-2, on June 27, 1989.  It was renumbered 326 on February 11, 2004.
