9835, RP-A4U, was built by Alco as Southern RS3. a It was rebuilt as 9835, Class RP-A4U and rebuilt as Norfolk Southern 945, Class RP-A4U.  It was sold to National Railway Equipment Corp as NREX 945 on September 8, 2012.

9838, RP-A4U, was rebuilt by Southeasern Specialties  from Alco as a Southern RS3.  It was acquired by Monticello Railway Museum.
